It is good you can get these as an offer from making some purchases, however it these promotional cards expire after a short amount of time, they are not like regular giftcards. You can also not use them to purchase everything sold at bestbuy. You cannot use them to purchase any kind of digital items like PlayStation or Xbox cards.

I bought my husband a GoPro for his birthday in March. Ever since I gave it to him, he has not put the thing down, it's kind of getting on my nerves, but fun to watch him record and take funny pictures and take slow videos. lol. I liked receiving the gift card as a promotion for a purchase, but it was confusing to use. I returned some items that I purchased with it, but the return was credited to an egift card that got stuck in my spam filter. It would have been a lot simpler if Best Buy had credited the return balance to the original gift card.

This gift card that was included for free with a purchase has sufficient security (card number and pin needs to be kept safe), and you can access its numbers in your Best Buy account under purchase history. Its use is pretty flexible and apparently has no specific expiration date which is good for any later purchase at Best Buy.
