Unexpected behavior: Atmos speakers in two models of samsung soundbars are activating without receiving signal whenever a signal is sent to wireless rear speakers. The problem reduces the enjoyment of the sound bars. The atmos speakers that are located in the sound bars themselves are making sound that is supposed to be coming only from the rear speakers. This means the surround experience is greatly diminished because sounds that are supposed to be from behind the audience only are unexpectedly coming from the front as well as the back. The work-around or temporary fix is to disable Atmos by, for example, disabling it using the settings of the Apple TVs. Without the atmos signal and associated processing error, then only the rear speakers activate when action in the movie is supposed to be behind the audience and the surround experience is better. Then the problem of unexpected sound from the atmos speakers goes away and the surround experience is much more enjoyable. The error is repeatable on samsung q850a and samsung hw-n950. Notably, this error did not occur on a different brand of sound bar: the error did not occur on an LG MODEL NO. SKC9 soundbar. This gives me confidence that the error is not from a bad signal but it instead from the Samsung sound bars exclusively. The sound test files i used are the 7 1 4 and 5.1.2 test files from Dolby's website, and from an Atmos test app that works on Apple TVs. Maybe a firmware fix would assure the atmos speakers in the sound bars themselves do not activate when the signals are only being sent to the rear satellites speakers?

You really can’t go wrong with this as a gift. Any person that likes technology can use this.

I was misled by the customer support department. A representative stated the gift card would be delivered after the purchase of the appliances, and that the gift card could then be used to cover installation costs. Apparently that's not true. The gift card is not sent out until the order is delivered and therefore it is impossible for it to be applied to the installation. Because of the misinformation, I've spent over 4-5 hours in contact with 5 different Best Buy departments (Customer support -> Gift card hotline -> Shipping & handling -> Digital downloads -> Appliance sales -> Customer support) each one passing the buck to a different department. After all of this, I land back at customer support where my support journey began. The dreaded customer support cyclone! Best Buy needs to do a better job listening to their customers, understanding their needs, and setting proper expectations. Ultimately I feel unheard, unhelped, and unhappy.

I’m picking my order up shortly. I bought it on-line with ease! I chose curbside pick up & was told it will be ready in about 1 hr. I’m so happy with Best Buy it’s the only place I go for electronics!
