I do think the cord being bunched up due to being so long caused an issue. I wouldn't recommend this cord for anyone in a 1100-1300 sqft 1 level home. However, if your home is much bigger with an upstairs etc.... this cord may work. I would suggest unwrapping they entire cord so that nothing is bunched up.
