Mine are close enough together that using some usbs side by side was too crowded. This has a smaller width, and fits side by side. Plus a bonus of a couple extra ports should I need them.

I leave this. plugged in. and the kids put in their game controllers and stuff. So they break this is cheaper than getting the laptop fixed.

I installed it and it is awesome. Now I can use multiple devices without having to switch USB cables around.

It works great and I noticed no increase in latency with these inouts. (as a gaming enthusiast)

And both laptops and towers have so few USB ports. This USB hub freed up my computer's 3.0 ports for high-speed data devices instead.
