Mine are close enough together that using some usbs side by side was too crowded. This has a smaller width, and fits side by side. Plus a bonus of a couple extra ports should I need them.

It works great and I noticed no increase in latency with these inouts. (as a gaming enthusiast)

And both laptops and towers have so few USB ports. This USB hub freed up my computer's 3.0 ports for high-speed data devices instead.

It works great by providing an electric port where none was available without having to use an extension cord.
