    My laptop has a permanent issue with one of the USB ports. It was fixed under warranty once, but several months later it didn't work again. So I bought this and it has more than been sufficient for my needs.

    The New Slimline PC that i purchased at Bestbuy is great and all, but like ALL PC's it didn't have nearly enough USB's so i purchased this hub because it is a great 4 port fo the price of 1 and that is just what was needed
