The Best Buy essentials box for this cable mentions low profile. So, this low profile aspect can be seen where the metal meets the plastic. This low profile design allows for the jack to sit properly in the plug on the headphones. Note that the original Sony cable comes with one end as a right angle jack. One can get a 3.5mm right angle adapter separately, if needed.
