There is an ac adapter for the device or you can skip it and just use the usb cable that goes with the device. I have a laptop that just had one basic usb port and I thought about ditching it for another laptop. But, this device gave it a running chance.

It worked great, they were able to charge multiple devices at one time and be ready to hit the road again the next morning with a full charge on their tablets and phones. When not traveling we'll use this as a hub for additional devices to connect to the laptop, but this will be a must-have for long road trips with overnight stays. It's already been used for 2 cross-country trips in multiple hotels and 2 family members' houses, and made it much easier to keep everything in one spot, organized, and charged. You won't get a super fast charge, but it's not designed for that anyways, this is the thing you use to have everything in one spot, fully charged, and ready to roll the next morning.

Saves wear and tear on the USB ports on my PC. Just wish there was some product that I could use to cover up the ports on this hub not in use at the moment in order keep the dust out.

Would not travel without it or be able to use my laptop efficiently because of arthritis. Great to add that needed wireless keyboard and mouse, not to mention a laser printer. If you work from home, this would be a good purchase.

Our home is 20 years old, with standard electrical plugs. I started to upgrade those outlets to bring the house to the 21st century and then decided using a few of these around the house would be more than effective.
