The mount allows you to slide the TV about 6-7 inches or so horizontally across the wall so you can make adjustments to the positioning but that's about it I purchased two which I use to hang a 55- and 77-inch TVs and they work fine. However, wished I had not returned the swivel mount I also purchased on sale because anything you have to do behind the TV requires that you lift it off the wall completely to get to wires etc. and that can be quite a challenge!
