You do need some additional tools to find the studs, make sure it’s level, etc. The paper cutout that comes with it doesn’t seem to make much sense, and isn’t referenced in the instructions. Once installed seems sturdy and secure. Definitely easier with a second pair of hands.

The mount is plenty adjustable and you can add risers if you want your TV to sit further off of the wall. I plug my TV into an outlet behind it, so the sliding rails make it easy to access.
