We built shelves around our old TV which was mounted in the recessed area. Thinking I would have to settle for a smaller TV in the recessed area, I was not happy. Then someone recommended a mount that extends away from the wall. We bought the Best Buy brand and could not be happier. It is holding a 75-inch Sony Bravia TV about 12 inches from the wall. So far there has been no movement or sag. This mount saved the day and allowed for a much larger TV in the space.

I had no issues hanging up my tv and moving it to be where it needed to be. It is heavy so it will be a 2 person job. But I haven't had any issues with it.
