I used my own but it was a nice thing to have if you do not have one. Make sure to have a stud finder and withen 15 to 20 min you will be ready to hang the T.V.

Even the staff at the store and the Geek Squad techs said I got a really great deal. The mount itself is fantastic. It was installed above my fireplaces. Very sturdy. Pulls away a good amount (6-12 inches) from the wall with no issues. Easy to pull out and push back in. Turns about 30 degrees to the right and left, and it tilts downwards too. Very happy with this purchase!
