Securing it to my wall, which had normal 16" spaced studs was not a problem. The only downside is the metal that the "securing" screws goes through to secure the TV to the mount are flimsy, in my opinion. They bent when I tightened them. I backed one off at a time and bent the metal back "straight". And re-tightened the screws. This time, I did not tighten them too much. I guess the manufacturer thinks a very slightly snug screw against the TV mount on the TV side is good enough. I just think it's a tad unsafe. But I would still recommend it... just not for the max weight.
