Either side (black or white) can face outside of the the wall. The very long coax cable is useful for custom fitting the antenna on the wall to a specific place/position. The built in wall stickers come with the antenna. I do not use them (and this is just my personal preference). Instead, I attach the antenna to the wall using clear plastic tape. Because, I decided to buy the antenna three times over about a year of time (for three different TVs in my house), I can say confidently that I like the antenna.

The only thing is it does get a lot of interference so you have to be careful where you put it.

Btw, there are 2 antennas with this same sku and model number. The older, larger one (which this review is for) has a 35-mile range. The newer one is less than half the size and only has a 25-mile range. If BB's going to change the size and range of the antenna, why not just create a new sku and model number for it?
