You can check your area's signal strength on www.antennaweb.org, if the signal is strong and not blocked by buldings and metals, the antenna may be broken; if the signal is mid or weak, and not blocked by buildings or metals, maybe a amplifiered antenna or outdoor antenna is better for your area

I tried to place the receiver in just about every place and position and it didn’t work. Should have tried going with another option.
