Operation is fine and shipping was right on time. When not in operation the mouse goes into a stand by mode low power, so far i haven't had to replace batteries. Would recommend, good price for the money.

Summary: Out of the box, this seems like a fairly decently functioning mouse, albeit with cheap design which makes it useless for my purposes. I would first like to clarify that the only reason I'm giving this one star is because, although it is functionally fine and "as advertised" (unlike all the other one star reviews), there are some glaring deficiencies in its innate design, some of which are pointed out in two star reviews, and I want to be sure customers know exactly what to expect, as well as to catch the attention of Bestbuy's product designers. I use mice with my laptop because I cannot stand track pads, which can virtually NEVER be adjusted to avoid cursor movement from my wrists touching them, so once I have a decent mouse connected I disable the trackpad entirely. This also means, because I actually use a laptop on my lap as intended, that I use the area to the right of the trackpad for a mousepad. EVERY mouse, including this one, that I've ever used has functioned perfectly in this scenario. I have only had this mouse for about two hours, and although it functionally works perfectly, I have several complaints. 1) I've used a lot of smaller mice in the past but this one is ridiculously small. At least it feels smaller, and this is due to its clumsy design. 2) There is no and I mean ZERO ergonomic consideration incorporated into its design. Despite the photo, there are virtually NO indents on either side that you can tuck your little finger and thumb into. It's flat and extremely smoot on both sides allowing for very little manual control. 3) Keeping in mind I use this on a laptop on my lap, this means the surface I'm using it on is almost never level. Because this mouse is so small and my hand is rather large, it is impossible to use the palm of my hand to prevent sliping since the back end of it never makes contact with my palm. 4) With this mouse being so slippery on its sides, and having no palm contact to prevent unintended slipping, now add the fact that the base also offers NO friction whatsoever. Therefore I have no choice but to squeeze it just hard enough to control it, which after only an hour of use is already causing hand fatigue. I have purchased $10 mice in the past, all of which were better designed than this one. I will definitely be returning it and spending the extra $16 to get the Logitech one I got this one as a replacement for.

With this particular product I have to believe I got what I paid for and it was for the purpose of emergency use. Due to the material it will not last very long and it is suggested to purchase the warranty to be on the safe side.
