Wondering what the legitimacy is behind this membership. Could be better if accidental damage was covered

Practically useless to me. I have set up appointments and taken my computers that I buy at BestBuy to the geek squad on several occasions, usually for a simple repair, but they say they are not allowed to work on them and have to send them to Kentucky. Extra lost time, extra expenses. So I have started using a local computer repair service that is much lower priced, and much quicker (same day to next day service).

Best Buy's service agreement has gotten more restrictive ands certainly more costly over recent years. Before, they came to the house and installed their products, now they charge you $ 249.99 to come out and it takes a long time. The actual installation was fine. What was $ 199. / year including coming out is now $ 428.99 / year for one service call. I will research local solutions, as this service contract is not worth the money.

I am very disappointed in the geek squad. In the years I have subscribed to this service, I have required their expertise at least 4 times. EVERY time their information was incorrect and misleading. Free shipping, installation, and warranties are the reasons I will continue coverage, but Best Buy should do better. So it’s not the BEST but it’s better than nothing.

If I could have been an actualual Geek Squad member and eliminated the contractors it would be rated as Excellent; However, I have been extremely disappointed with the change in operations.

Total tech plan getting more expensive but no more free home visits. Now $100 to walk in door. This is making the membership unaffordable. I have been a member for years but am rethinking whether it is worth it. Also inconvenient you can’t call the store but have to drive to store. Difficult for someone who is handicapped

I appreciate the benefits of the new program, but I am dissappointed that some of the Total Tech services were eliminated. So glad we got our new TV installed before ours expired.

If you purchase alot of electronics, this membership pays for itself. However, I do not like that they change the program frequently. I was a huge fan, now not so much.

My membership served me terribly during a Verizon Home Protect TV replacement. My Membership let me down after years of good service.

This is not the same as total tech, half the benefits have been taken away for a cheaper annual fee. All tv mounting are no longer free thats what annoys me the most.

Living in remote Alaska, means the online support is invaluable. Too bad about the decision to unbundle membership services

This is a great program. I just found out that if you cancel your subscriptions then the previous merchandise purchased is no longer covered. So it really doesn't pay to have it.

This service has been very valuable to us in 2023. We hope to get similar value in 2024! We hope that Best Buy continues to meet our various needs.

Ever increasing high cost of annual purchase/membership as well as service in home. I am disabled and unable to visit any Best Buy locations/stores for laptop service. After seven years of membership it is not worth the cost. Ultimately, it appears that paying for service as needed is cheaper from other resources.

I think I will just buy the Geek Squad protection from now on.

They keep going up with the cost.Next time I will cancel.I could pay somebody to work on whatever.And if I don't use it I save the money
