I was prompted for this review in my Best Buy profile, where it also mentioned the review counts as a sweepstakes entry (for a relatively modest prize). Regardless, my rating for the Best Buy Total membership is 5 stars. I've worked in electronics for years, and know how to repair things. But consumer electronics are not amenable to repair (i.e. parts are hard to source, and disassembly & reassembly are often very time consuming, and not always intended for repair). While I disliked purchasing warranties for many years, in many cases it has simply become necessary today. Honestly, for the price, you'll have to decide your annual electronics purchase amount, in dollars per year, spread over two years, and determine is the warranty is worthwhile. A single TV or laptop purchase might justify the warranty. I wish it would carry into a third year (I think most devices only are covered for two years?) On the other hand, it extends the return window. I've only made two Best Buy warranty claims in 12 years (preceding the offering of this warranty program), but Best Buy mades it very easy to obtain a replacement for those two issues. If you're planning to purchase at least one 'big-ticket' item, consider it. Two big-ticket items, it starts becoming a really good idea.

You are paying for peace of mind. Nobody likes to pay for extra protection, but the reality is that you never know when you will need it. I am always buying from Best Buy, and having this membership saves me ton of money on additional protection for my purchases.

As someone who makes purchases for myself and my family, having the ability to insure and protect my purchases with one subscription is a godsend. The deals also sweeten the deal. I could understand it may not be for everyone, but if you join up you wont really regret it.

Best Buy total plus not only gives you discounts on certain items and member special only pricing but covers all your devices for up to 24 months. The only issue I’ve had is with TVs and manufacturer warranties that you have to go through if the product is within one year and fails. Those manufacturer warranties are not as good so caveat emptor on things like TVs displays and any Apple products that need to be serviced directly through Apple. Otherwise pretty much everything else if it breaks they’ll either replace it or give you a gift card with the price you paid for the item so still well worth it.

I have used this several times already. Seems that the team is well versed and very professional. I am a retired computer company director but I no longer keep up with technology changes so well. It is nice to have this support.

The membership is very valuable to me. Knowing I have the geek squad behind to help with any problem give me peace. They are professionals and work fast. My family and friends know about this membership and how much I recommend it.

Purchased with my son’s laptop. Have not had to use for this current lapttop but I have used Geek Squad in the past. Very easy to work with them and they were able to fix the problem.

Took grandson's computer in for the Geek Squad to deal with it. He researched it on his own, bought a P/S for it. GS just updated drivers and tested.

Im so happy I purchased the Total membership. Now I can have a peace of mind with the perc it offers and save money not on my recent purchase but future product as well.

The membership has been a great addition to all my purchases and gives us peace of mind when making large careful purchases. The protection plans are a nice service to have and in store savings has been awesome.

Aside from piece of mind, technology services are up to the minute. Appliances receive knowledgeable & trust worthy analysis. I’ve been a member for a number of years and do not regret one minute.

Although seemingly expensive, if you buy enough tech0stuff, you will need this... I have actually needed to exercise this option and replace an appliance that had reached it end -of-life and had started to fail. They simple replaced the item - no fuss.

The membership is okay, If shop a lot the. Definitely a must. I did need to use for the refrigerator and someone was sent out quickly and it was fixed within a two days.. the guy needed a part.. and theres discounts just for members

This membership has given me the piece of mind to purchase any item and know that I have the ability to return it if needed.

Great customer service and support all the time that I call to check on my computer they always h egg lo me solve my problem

It was nice to have this as a back up in case anything did happen, but ultimately I didn't end up using it. It was very easy to cancel once I didn't have the expendable income to maintain it, so I say go for it if you can!
