    Covered, yet not covered????

    Had a Samson washer. Was told it’s covered by the total protection plan. Yet, had to pay to service call. $110.00 than was told I had to buy the motherboard $800+ plus labor cost to install. So my question is, what’s covered by the total protection plan?

    waste of money if you want competent tech help

    geek squad support used to be the best tech help you could get. not any more. so far this year and last it has been a waste of time and money. attempts to use geek squad online agents resulted in huge frustration dealing with non english speaking people who didnt seem to actually know anything about computers, resulting in seriously messed up computers after they did remote control. took me days to fix most of what they completely messed up including deleting all my browsers and in one case i had to disconnect agent when i discovered she was actually looking at/opening and reading my emails!!! in store, equally bad experience as i took my HP pavilion tower in for general clean up and service and to get them to remove the "rescue me" connect window that the remote agent left on my computer. well, after multiple trips to the store (45 minute trip each way) i finally was told that this time my tower was ready. i took it home and discovered absolutely nothing had been done to it (it even still had the dust in the fan that i had asked them to blow out)!!!! oh and the geek squad rescue me window was still stuck there and i couldnt get rid of it. that added insult to injury, lol. so i can only say the geek squad of the past was amazing and great and whatever they call it - the people there now are completely useless with tech and not interested in helping customers (in my experience).

    Been a Total Tech member for years. You used to get a personal tech person. If had a problem or bought new equipment and needed it set up - it was great. I was out of my apartment for 3 months. I brought my laptop and phone. I left my printer. When I came home I called to have my Total Tech guy come and reconnect my printer. 2 unknown tech guys came 2 separate times to set up printer and fix Webroot and VPN connection. Cost $148.00. Two different Tech guys came on 6/8/2025 and 6/20/2025 and printer still not working and getting a privacy DNS warning meaning VPN still not working. Why wasn't MY regular Tech Guy sent. Pathetic service. And I tipped these guys.

    The membership is much less helpful than it used to be. Major appliances that are covered devices can’t be delivered. They can’t have technicians out as I am 42 minutes from nearest location.

    Scheduled a WIFI set up on October 2023 after buying a new router. I requested the set up because i wanted to make sure that rhe WIFI was working well and wirh all devoces. The first appt was a disaster. The guy literally just to the router out of the box and told me down load the app. It all was less than 10 mins. And they charge $149 fir this? When they guy left, i actually spend a couple if works trying to amke things work in becuase nothing was. I called to talk someone abiut the poor service. I got the run around. I ended up filing a case with the Better Business Bureau and immediately someone from Best Buy contacted me and when above the way to make sure i had a redo of my WIFI set up. Except same guy shows uo and does nothing again. So i have to say Best Buy WIFI set up is worthless. The manager that reached was great and years ago services were greta for entertainment set up. However, the last 2 i had were not. I had ine in 2019 and one 2020 and both were not great with the guy making many holes in my wall trying to find the best spot for my TV and beign careless. It happened both times. Now, years ago i used to have great installation and service. I hope Best Buy goes back ti their roots and provide better Geek Squad servide in the future.

    The program was absolutely great when i first joined but now i feel like im being held hostage just to keep the 2 year warranty. Most of the included perks are gone now. So the yearly cost no longer seems to be saving me anything.

    I’m torn. The company made changes that are better/cheaper for them. I’ll probably cancel because they took away TV install even though we already have 6 TVs. This does give access to some additional sale prices which is why I’m torn.

    It was very disappointing to see that my webroot was not included in my Total plan anymore. I had to pay extra for my AV update since I am not the kind of guy that has his stuff repaired or returned.
