    The membership is really awesome. You get some amazing deals and perks. However the $179 price tag is to steep. I dont but enough throughout the year to make the savings worth the membership price.

    Nope, this membership is no longer what customers expect. Most of the reliable benefits no longer exist on this membership making it even too expensive to even pay for. Its ridiculous

    2 years ago i bought a laptop for myself and the store worker told me they are offering this special for best buy total member/ tech. He said you pay $200 and will be covered for 2 years and hes like everything else you buy during that period will be covered also. To me they should train their employees. Couple days later i was only xharged i think $175 and i noticed a year after i was charged another $175. I called and asked why. I said thats not the promotion i was offered for total tech. They didnt even apologize for their employees not really knowing the promotion or total tech. I said i only got cause i was told id be charged $200 and id be covered for 2 years and everything i bought would be covered. Was definitely not worth it guys. I ended up pying a total of $350 for 2 years. I could of bought a ipad for that price. Its probably worth it if you buy alot of stuff. Do better best buy

    The change in membership to remove the installation benefit has made the entire membership a joke. Paying a yearly charge of $170+ just to get deals and expedited shipping which most retailers provide by default makes me feel Best Buy has gone backwards in terms of customer experience and satisfaction. Also, one of the benefit is the extended warranty which is another perk that is good. But for the full cost of the membership, you can get an extended warranty from outside for 5 years v/s the one year at Best Buy. Overall I was very excited to enroll and make my purchases at Best Buy last year. But this year has been a reality check and made me realize that I overpaid for this membership and it does not have any real value.

    I took my laptop in because the touchpad was not responding on my laptop at random times. First time, they worked on it and sent me home. Problem continued. 2nd time they worked on it and then decided to mail it out Ching an additional $100, received my laptop and yes, same problem continued. Went in for the 3rd time and they had me wait in the store for over 2 hrs while they did updates on my laptop and yes, same problem continued once I got home. Now my plan is about to expire, so I spent about $500 on this plan only to waste my time. Total rip off! Would not recommend!

    It’s a waste of money. Everytime you try to get help all they do is transfer you around to different departments and nobody solves your problem, it’s always the other teams area so you will be bounced to the same area more than once before you just get tired and give up. The agents are also very rude. If you try to do it vis chat, many of them will simply disconnect when they don’t want to answer your questions, after they have pasted some useless generic paragraph ALSO sending you to another area, so you will have to go throught the automated chat and several people via chat too. They DID NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEM ONCE in the two years I have paid for this fiasco!!! Of course, to make matters worse, they will always thank you for being a member. So no, I do not recommend it, don’t waste your money

    warranty renewal - bad credit

    its nice that they offer a warranty, yet i was unaware it were to be renewed a year later. maybe i shouldve been more attentive checking my emails and credit score. but unfortunately i wasnt, and the warranty charge overdrafted me over $180 for about 3 months before i realized i had missed payments. best buy couldnt do anything about my overdraft fees, the product itself is great though and the geek squad refunded the charge with ease.

    If you buy whirlpool they can’t help you until warranty is up and whirlpool sucks so they won’t help you but Best Buy is great and supportive!

    I regret ever buying this. I wish I had just purchased the extended warranties for my indivdual products as this is far more limited and basically made me feel like I was grifted for money. This literally almost made me 86 Best Buy for the rest of my life, if it were for a store manager pulling a ton of strings, this HUGE mistake of a purchase would have been the last thing I bought here. DONT DO IT!

    Best Buy continues to go downhill with their membership options. Elite/Elite Plus was gutted years ago and then eventually cancelled mid-year and removing benefits early from people who earned them by spending enough money there. Totaltech was the replacement as an expensive subscription service and the only thing it had going for it was the free installation and other in-home services. Now they removed those and water down the benefits while dropping the price slightly. This is NOT worth the fee. They try to push the warranty coverage side of it, but really you're covered by the manufacturer's warranty is most situations. The value isn't here anymore and I'm not sure how Best Buy continues to make bad decisions that hurts loyal customers.

    Not a bad service if you have constant problems. Only downside is they will send computer away to fix instead of replace. Takes weeks.

    Junk service. They tell you everything is covered when you sign up then later on, you'll find out that they exclude certain products and don't tell you when you purchase them.

    The membership is a great benefit for multiple electronics. Yearly cost covers all items purchased that year. Just as dependable as AppleCare.

    Total tech was a much better value than this current itteration of the program. It may be still great for smaller purchases.

    We started a my Best Buy total account in 2023. Needless to say, anytime we tried to actually use the protection this was supposed to offer, Best Buy would not allow us to use it. We finally just ended the account after 2 years.
