I just need the remote of my 1 yr old LG tv remote replaced since the buttons are just falling off. Got through on chat but they can't even help me and says I need to call in but the call in hours didn't work for my schedule. Starting to think the value isn't there, might need to cancel the membership.

My Honest Thoughts

Very disappointing. Have not been able to get one yet. They had an event today but BestBuy kept postponing it to a later time. Long story short did NOT get one. Honestly feel like its a big scam, probably have better odds winning a POWERBALL/MEGAMILLIONS

Took it home, all was fine for a few days. The battery then died. I took it back and they found a loose screw. Again, it worked for one more day. I took it back again and was told I would have to pay $100 for the review to find the problem. OR I could purchase the Total Membership and everything they might find would be covered. This all before they would even check the battery install again. I was already out $60 battery install charge, $45 battery. Add another $100 on a five-year-old PC and I've almost paid for a Membership. This time it was just the charger chord. Got a new one and all is fine. The tech team is good but they should have honored the battery issue.

Not impressed

Bought a new computer and there were issues with it. Took it in to geek squad three times and it's still not working right. They told me each time that it was fixed, but their monitors weren't working in the store, so they couldn't show me. I had to take the computer home where I would find out that it was not working. I'm so unimpressed that I am now going to pay out of pocket to have someone who is qualified to work on computers come and actually fix the issue. I'll most likely be canceling the total membership as it doesn't seem worth it (in this area) when unqualified people are the ones to help you out. Getting 2 stars because the people are at least really nice and try to help, it's one thing to be nice, but they don't seem to know what they are doing. (at least at the Baybrook, TX location). I will say that I've been to other locations that were good, but out here, I'll steer people away.

A Little Let Down

I bought a Cyberware computer about a year ago, just to a play The Sims on it. Suddenly, out of nowhere my computer would just shut off after being on for 30 mins. I brought it up to my local Best Buy where they installed apps to test my CPU & GPU- testing to see if my computer was staying in the appropriate temperatures. Everything checked out. No further testing was done and I was sent on my way. I was told to come back and they would do a full diagnostic test (which should have been done the first time) if my computer was still functioning improperly. I brought my computer home and once again the same issue happened. I brought it back up there so they could run a full diagnostic test where there were issues found with my computer. I felt reassured the situation was going to get better because the solution to the problem was to have them ship it off to be fixed. I sure was wrong in thinking that. My computer was shipped off and scheduled to be fixed. The members had put in additional notes of the problems my computer was experiencing. Just to have it shipped back from the repair center unfixed and told there wasn’t any issues with my computer. Furthermore, after I got the phone call telling me my computer was ready to be picked up, I was told that. Of course, I’m not paying all of this additional money to be a Best Buy member for nothing, I want my computer repaired. Once again, they shipped it back off with even more detailed notes of the problems from the diagnostic tests as well as further pertinent information with the assumption that my computer will finally be fixed. This all started at the beginning of September, it’s now the second of October. So we will see…. Side note: if you like having free shipping and possibly racking up a purchase every now and again you get $5 gift certificate you can use on your purchases.

Good Products, poor service

Since I have paid for it, I opted to buy our new appliances from Best Buy. At first I didn't notice that despite changing my primary address, delivery defaulted to my old address. I caught it, used the adjust shipping address option on the order and figured no biggie, it will just delay when the install happens. Absolutely nothing but headaches since that. The installation / haul away seem to be unable to be scheduled together, if at all. Day of install finally comes, and I receive a text saying appointment has moved to Christmas Eve. over 1 hour on the phone, and another 30-45 min in chat over the last few weeks and nothing is still solved. I'm sure there is some partner or integration they use to schedule these, but whatever it is, it's terrible and unreliable.

BUYER BEWARE

I was given a brochure and told the number to set up an appointment was on it. It was not! I was disappointed to find out it was a call center and not the store I purchased my products at. When I finally got a hold of someone I was told the Saratoga store could not offer that service because it wasn’t an Apple certified store. I was told I had to go to an Albany ,NY store 2 hours from my home. BUYER BEWARE and ask a lot of questions. Possibly get a number that connects you directly to a store, which I still don’t have.

fraudulent salesman misrepresenting a product.

He asked me if I wanted to purchase their instore Warranty because it was far superior to the manufacturers warranty. It would cover any damage or breakdown and would not cost me anything on parts and labor. So I bought it as a Warranty. a week later I get an email welcoming me to the My Best Buy Total membership also telling me it would automatically renew every 12 months. I didn't buy a membership, I was told I was buying a in store warranty!

Not a great fit

It keeps the back strap too high on the head for a good tightening for the eyes. The velcro adjustment has to be used with the left hand . A bit awkward for right handed people. The eye protection is very large so it seems to let light in that one would rather not have. It can only be used sitting streight up with the head tilted up slightly or laying down with the head back in order to have enough air to breathe. I personally did not like the pulsing vibrations. I was able to use the continuous vibration. I have not used it enough to see the skin difference, I am hoping for the best.

They send an email that doesn't have their logo, asking you to call a number that doesn't appear on their website, so it looks fraudulent. The other thing that looks fraudulent is that all their fraud-related emails are set to disappear from your inbox after you read them. They give you 24 hours to respond to the email. If you don't, they block your name (not your credit card, your name) so you can't order anything, not even at their stores, for delivery at their stores. They don't even check with your credit card. To get the block removed, you have to find someone in their maze of a phone tree who actually understands the system and can contact the powers that remove the block. The department that removes the block is a secret that they don't communicate - not to their sales representative, not to their in-store staff, and certainly not to their customers. Once you find a person who knows something, they are great. Bottom line: 10 days, 6? phone calls, 2 trips to the store. Maybe after all that I might have now placed an order that I hope will work. They need to fix their horrible system and inform their people how it works.

Not Worth it–Many Extra Costs for a “Total Plan"

For the hefty annual price (currently $179.99), I expected more inclusive benefits. While the plan sounds great on paper—tech support, product protection, discounts, and service perks—you’ll quickly find that you still end up paying a good chunk out of pocket for things you thought were covered. For example: Repairs often have service fees or labor costs that aren’t included. Discounts on certain items are minimal or limited to things I rarely buy. The “exclusive access” perk feels underwhelming—nothing I wouldn’t already see as a regular customer. Reading through other customer reviews, I’ve seen a lot of the same feedback: Confusion about what's actually included Disappointment with the level of coverage Some mentioned the plan used to be better, but recent changes made it feel more like a cash grab. The only real perks I’ve consistently used are free shipping and the 24/7 tech support, which is helpful but not enough to justify the high price tag—especially when I still have to pay for many services or repairs anyway. Bottom line: Unless you’re constantly buying big-ticket tech from Best Buy or need frequent tech help, the value just isn’t there. I’d recommend doing the math based on your usage before committing for a full year.

BB total membership

The hardware purchase and installation are great. However, the copying across of my data was not as good. A number of apps did not come across and it is taking me hours to get everything working correctly. The most infuriating was the fact that my relatively new Canon printer would not connect. I called GS and worked with 2 different agents who came to the conclusion that I needed my router updated to a slower speed. I had suggested that there may be a driver issue but was told most emphatically that it was a router problem even though all was fine with W10 and not W11. This was an hour and a half ordeal. I finally gave up and just worked through it myself until I got an updated driver and now the printer and scanner connects just fine. Very poor service from the online GS support!

Membership has NO VALUE

No COMMUNICATION for almost three weeks and only excuse after excuse I get every week I went to the store to get information on the status of my unacceptable service. Disappointed

Jacob I believe it's his name and he was very rude and acted like anything I asked from him was more than he was wanting to do. He also reluctantly cleaned my brand new laptop keyboard and screen for me because I asked multiple times. As he was wiping it off for me he flipped it over to where the back side of my screen was on the desk and he was wiping it kind of hard and my laptop was sliding all around the top of the desk. I told him that I really OCD and I don't want Mark's and scratches all over my laptop that's why I asked him to clean it for me from the fingerprints. He acted like I was crazy and any smarter like way said it's only plastic so I grabbed my laptop and walked away. When I want to tell a manager about it I looked at my laptop and there were March on my laptop from him doing this. I was already having a very bad day and I was literally in tears by the way he treated me. Makes me not ever want to go back there again. The manager was really nice but he said he could reorder it for me but I would have to go without my laptop for a week and a half and that is not even possible. I do graphic design with it and I needed it everyday. All I got was a $50 gift card for all the inconvenience stress and tears.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Unfortunately, my recent experience with Geek Squad left me frustrated and disappointed. What should have been a simple PC repair turned into a two-week ordeal filled with misinformation, a lack of transparency, unapproved decisions, and inconsistent pricing. I was contacted through a technician’s personal phone, given incorrect part recommendations that led to unnecessary purchases, and had major repairs done without my consent. On top of that, the store initially mischarged me, returned my PC without cleaning it as promised, and even admitted to ignoring a clear policy violation. By the end of it, I had replaced almost my entire computer unnecessarily, costing me far more time and money than it should have. That being said, the membership does have benefits. You can get good deals on products, and the included insurance on purchases is valuable for protecting your investment. For straightforward purchases or coverage on items, the membership can be worthwhile.

Forced to pay this membeship

I was very hesitant to get membership again after being a very loyal customer for about (if not more) 20 years. I belueve that when you have elite membership that you should not have certificates expire. I had walked into a Best Buy store wanting to make a big purchasr when I was told that my certificates had expired (over $100 worth). That was so disappointing. I've taken a step back to think about this and it does disappoint this loyal customer. Wish this membership acknowledged this. I now feel forced to take this membership to protect my family's purchases.

The price has gone up and I have only kept it because I have been purchasing larger electronics or appliances and the added warranty is welcomed. When seeking repairs under warranty there are added fees.

Problems with understaffing and scheduling work

I would have 3-4 customers who did not make appts taking up the agents time, or distracting me from getting my problem addressed. This happened very often, and greatly diminishes the plans appeal. Also, the Phone dept is most times not staffed, so those customers are directed over to the Geek squad, further adding to the problem. As well, many times multiple persons are scheduled at the same appt time, Threrefore I did not renew, to frustrating. Appointments are often duplicated to several customers

Not worth it.

This membership only provides with limit amount of guarantee as the manufacturer covers the first year and this cover one as well but after the second year they want you to pay a monthly fee for each of the items under this guarantee. Not worth it.

Not the best.

When I got the computer back, some word files were incomplete, I had to redo an excel spreadsheet, the newspapers I read didn't know who I was, some photos and a video were missing. These are supposed to be in the cloud, but I haven't found them. I had previously back up to a thumb drive so I still have the missing files. Overall, not an ideal experience.
