    Its really convinient to get free shipping on everything Best Buy has to offer, plus discounts on installations and setups i got got my newly purchased 55” mount tv installed it was easy and smooth no trouble scheduling was easy no hassle on time no mess to clean up i like it alot and would absolutely recommend. Good move from BestBuy even though my original membership was simply a blast with free everything… well it offered more discounts it seemed but as i mentioned already and i still will recommend to other Best Buy supporters Get the membership it is a real peace of mind having member services extra protection, discounts, shipping for all your purchases @BestBuy

    We bought an Alienware laptop in August 2025 from Best Buy with $500 Geek Squad 4 years of service, in late November 2025 it had a critical video card failure. We took it to geek squad desk and they made me buy this so they could reinstall the OS after we told them it was hardware failure. But since it was still under warranty we didn’t want to crack open the laptop and fix it ourselves (well…my husband who’s an IT guru for a large bank and could fix it would have been the one to do it). Of course the OS reinstall didn’t fix it and the guy from Geek Squad called and left a vmail and said they’d reimburse this $194 because it ended up being hardware failure and they had to send it out to be repaired. But we were required to come back to the store prior. When we got there they wouldn’t reimburse it, and they had to send it out and said it’d be two weeks and we’re into week 3 and the laptop is still waiting for parts and our daughter is trying to run heavy duty CAD programs off of a el crappo old laptop from high school while we wait. And once it’s fixed they won’t send it to the Best Buy near her university, but they will send it to our home one…which means one of us will have to drive it out to her hundreds of miles away. Silver lining…get to see our college student. So…was this a good purchase. Not for us.

    Disappointed with the delivery system.

    The Geek squad is great. But there is a disconnection with the delivery team. I recently had a problem. I had two conflicting texts. One said “delivery around 12:27 PM and a second one “delivery between 8:30 AM-12:30 PM. The first message was received 4 days in advance and the second the day before. This conflicting information resulted in the part not being delivered because I had a Doctors appointment that I could have cancel or change but didn’t because the first text gave enough time to be back home on time for the delivery. The second text one was to late to do something about it and two it was too late to change my Doctors appointment, end result no delivery on the scheduled day. The delivery person on the phone couldn’t or didn’t want to accommodate a different time later that day. Is hard for me to understand why he couldn’t shift my delivery for another and still be able to do mine. He was very cut and dry talking to me. He didn’t express any concerns about delivering my item the same day. He just simply said “no I can’t do it today it has to be another day. Bottom line I am not happy with Best Buy delivery system and the communication between one end and the other (csr service). On the other end I am happy with my TV. It has a beautiful sound and screen. The Bose sound bar was doing awesome until it stopped working. I hope the next one doesn’t have the same problem.

    Total Membership Has Lost Its Meaning

    I’ve been a Best Buy Total member for many years and have always purchased all of my electronics through Best Buy specifically for the Total membership benefits. At this point, the only real value left is the extended AppleCare coverage. Installation is no longer included, which is a major downgrade from what this membership used to offer. Product support has also gone downhill. Instead of actually helping, customer service usually just points you toward in-home service — for an additional fee. That’s not support, it’s an upsell. If it weren’t for the extended AppleCare, I would cancel. Best Buy needs to stop stripping benefits and reconsider what “Total” is supposed to mean for long-time, loyal customers. I’m recommending only for the AppleCare benefit.

    Best Buy's membership programs are degrading over time. Cost more and provide less. If Best Buy didn't have the best protection plans available for purchase, we would just lump Best Buy in with everyone else. Points. For as long as they gave points for purchasing anything from Best Buy, we always checked Best Buy first. If they had it, we bought it at Best Buy. Toys, games, electronics, appliances. Heck, even reading glasses. Once that went away, so did a LOT of our business. I don't think we have bought a single major appliance at Best Buy since.

    I went to the store to look at laptop, computers and shelves and HP 17 inch but I wanted to think it over so I came back home and I’m looking on the website they had another 17 inch which was a little less so I called and talked to a Spencer, and he assures me that the lady that helped me at the store would get credit if they do that and the one I looked at first would be the best choice and I could order it over the phone. Go in when it came in and just go over to the geek squad and they would download my other one and I’ll be out of there well when I got to the store, they said oh you need an appointment with the geek squad and so now where I live in Hemet and I am traveling to Menifee. It was just go on home and will call you when it’s ready while I’m 85 years old and traveling back-and-forth is not some thing I wanted to do. that’s why I called him rather than making a second trip to the store. It seems he could’ve informed me that I needed to make an appointment before I came back over to pick it up so now I’ve made three trips to the store and cannot say it was one of my better experiences. I’m sure this will not be a winner, but it seems maybe you could all get together and let people. That they need to make an appointment before they get there so this doesn’t happen to someone else I’m sure this won’t get the best seller reward but maybe it will help other people don’t know what to do

    Cost can't be justified

    Not sure this cost is justified. It now only provides a 2-year extended warranty on products purchased from BestBuy. I originally subscribed when it covered house calls for repairs or service on all my electronics. That made it worth the annual subscription. A 2-year extended warranty for products I've purchased from BestBuy is far less costly than this annual subscription. I also don't like the fact that any extended warranty ends as soon as I fail to renew this subscription.

    Really great to have that peace of mind on every device purchased but having that “fee” when ever something does go wrong and being limited to a certain amount of uses then what’s the point of paying almost $200 a year and if it’s not used it’s like buying a new device every year but with out getting anything. Maybe if the fee was way less to get something fixed or fee free then the current annual price is justifiable

    It would Be a good value IF i could get things straightened out. Alas, they informed me i eould have to pay Geek Squad again to redo what they undid the first time they came. We've had an appointment at the store, so half the problem is solved but they want to charge me $120.00 to come out and plug in the telephone, computer scanner, lamp and other electronics they un plugged while the boss was working at the other computer.

    I would recommend this to someone who buys alot from best buy frequently but i ordered off of the 800 # and it was hard to understand the individual which told me this was good for two years not whati was told when i went to pick up my product that i bought this for had i know it was yearly i would of went with the Geek squad protection plan which i ended up doing i really love best buy it has changed over the years and it is getting harder to find people who know the products.

    My initial experience with Total Care was not positive. I had an in-store meeting scheduled. When I showed up, I had to wait to finally talk to someone. Apparently, everyone was busy. So much for scheduled appts. The person I finally got to speak with was not from the Geek Squad/Total Care. He was a kid filling in from another dept and really had no business being there. He couldn't even answer the first question I had. Pressing a little further his only suggestion was to bring my PC into the store for support. It was a wasted trip to the store for a couple minutes of nothing. I'm willing to give Total Care another try. If my next encounter with Total Care is not productive I will cancel.

    Don t know much about the membership. I left the store without the geek squad appointment i requested and have no idea about what i get as i told the sales person my husband had just died a veteran and i needed a reliable way to handle V A coraspondance i got office 365. I hope has some kind of protection for the lsp top. Its taken me 4 days to add my pay accounts to it. So i guess i really don t know if its a good deal or if i was just up sold because i was a woman who lost her husband.

    Great for big spenders or large families

    If you buy a lot of tech, or have a bigger family to funnel purchases through Best Buy its worth it. As an individual that doesn't chase all of the technology I feel its a marginal value. The warranties are nice, but you end up spending much more for them than you would just buying them outright (when they aren't paywalled behind best buy total), or when they make sense to buy at all. The pricing is ok, but typically price matching amazon still results in lower prices on mainstream items.

    I've had this for years but they keep removing benefits and raising the pricd..I'm starting to rethink it. I'm not someone who had ever needed Geak Squad computer support and the one time I tried to use their TV install service, they dailed and i had to do it myself. The "total member" price is the same as every other sale price, and the warranty services ow has a deductable and a repair cost limit. Eh.

    I have not been able to get links to function to set up appointments. It takes way too long for humans to answer a call. I am very disappointed in Best Buy's customer service, or shall I say, lack there of. I should not have purchased another HP product and should have purchased a desk top elsewhere. Someplace that offers simple customer service

    My membership serves me some of the time

    OVerall, it seems like the current Best Buy Total does not give the same package when I first joined. I used to get webroot free, now I have to pay $20. It is quite difficult to contact the store to have a consult with a rep. I don't use the helpline often, but when I do, there is usually a language barrier that slows down solution of the problem. Difficult to get a tech agent to come to house.

    I'm a Best Buy Elite member because I purchase so many products from Best Buy every year and was a member of the original Best Buy Total Tech Support program. When totaltech was rolled out, I was immediately upgraded to this from the original Total Tech Support and it seemed like a good deal. Given how many products I purchase from Best Buy every year, I normally get a Geek Squad Protection Plan on most of my product purchases. Totaltech offers this by default which is great but you had to keep the totaltech membership on a continual basis which costs $199.99 per year. Furthermore, you have to pay a dedutible which varies depending on the item if you need to claim any kind of repair or service on top of the $199.99 per year membership fee. Personally, I don't intend to use most of the services offered by totaltech and I felt that it would cost more long-term than purchasing individual geek squad protection plans on select products. Also, I felt it's more costly too because of the deductible you would have to pay to have an item repaired under the program whereas there is NO deductible if you have a traditional geek squad protection plan. IMO, I don't recommend this membership!

    While purchasing this membership can be beneficial and it does help cover geek squad repairs, thus so far I have not reaped any benefits from it. I will admit I need delivery more of the fine print and what comes with the benefits of purchasing this. Don’t know if I will renew next year. Will see!!

    Was told by sales person and representative at the Best Buy 800 number that all I had to do was bring my old computer in with new and they would transfer everything in 20 minutes. Had to bring it back and leave it for a day and half. Then when I went to pick them up they couldn’t find my old computer’s charging cord. Has to go back again to pick it up. Sales associate kept saying he’d have to check cameras when he had 2 people telling him that I left the cord. To many trips and over 59 spent on phone with 800 trying to straighten out my account.
