Extra care TOTALLY worth it

I buy a lot of tech items, and small appliances and love the extra service. The service, extra discounts and just basic care put my mind at ease and always motivated me to purchase items I. ended and wanted without hesitation! The conditions changing and not really needing anything at the moment (and sticking to a budget) are the only reasons I didn't renew and canceled early. But, believe me as soon as I buy my next gadget, I'll also be renewing asap!

Paradigm Shift Must Have

It not only gave me peace of mind, it works as advertised and saved me quit a bit of time and money. Customer service goes above and beyond to truly provide a value based experience. What you get for the price is a true "no brainer". So glad I changed my mind and purchased this product, will never look back.

DO NOT USE AS WARRANTY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The warranty side of this membership is a scam; only purchase this membership if it will save you on delivery and installation when you purchase your products. The goal of Best Buy after that is to get the current membership to cancel, and then they will sell it to you again the next time as a "renewal," which is actually a new membership that will not cover any of your previous purchases. The Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator I purchased just broke; the ice tray froze and fell into the ice bucket, and they filled the whole tray with water." after only 18 months. When I went in to check, my online dashboard for purchases stated I am covered through November of 2024. When I called for service, they said they could help by offering 20% off the repair service, a benefit of my current membership, since my membership for this particular item was canceled for nonrenewal due to the card on file not processing. In November of 2023, I thought I was renewing the "my Best Buy total" membership; I was buying a new one, which only covered current and future purchases, not previous ones. My previous one had expired in September of 2023. Best Buy's process is to email you if, for some reason, your card on file doesn't work or they don't have one, and it is time for renewal. Of course, these emails come with the flood of Best Buy sales emails, so most of us will overlook them, and your online dashboard for purchases still shows all of them are covered; it's only under the separate heading of the membership dashboard directly that shows what products are active or canceled. I know it's my fault at the end since I didn't pay attention to the emails but Best Buy's process and what they lead their customer to believe about the service and what is and is not covered is very misleading.

Yes, It's Worth It

I am quickly finding out that it's worth the outlay and quickly pays for itself. Totaltech automatically pays for two years of Applecare and/or Protection Plan on purchases. After purchasing a MacBook Pro, it was cheaper to purchase Totaltech then it was to pay for Applecare. Home installation of purchases - appliances, wifi networks, etc - are also included for free as part of a Totaltech membership.

Not bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do most things myself on my computer but this was handy when my SSD failed they replaced it for free(besides the new SSD cost) and installed new windows. The discount prices on items is somehat nice aswell. The value could be better, might downgrade to the cheaper membership.

THE MEMEBERSHIP CAN WORK FOR YOU

I had it for a year and was able to take advantage of deals offered through the membership and also purchased a stove during this period. so I did benefit from the membership for the year. If you buy a lot from BEST BUY it's worth it.

Best deal ever

Paid for itself just on the installation and hall away of a couple of appliances. If you buy more than 1 electronic device per year or need new appliances this is a great safety net. Just don't mistakenly cancel it, website / profile on membership has a glitch that can lead you to think you are double charged for the free antivirus that comes with. They cannot recover a cancelled account.

I canceled it

I got several texts asking me to schedule or reschedule my delivery and install date when it was already scheduled in the beginning. Then on install day the fridge guy couldn’t get it to start cooling. He called a couple of people who couldn’t help him either. I looked on YouTube and found a person who had a video showing how to get the fridge out of demo mode and to start cooling. I showed it to the installer who used it to fix the issue. He was a very nice guy, but I basically did my own setup. On my dishwasher appliance install, the contractor was great. The sales person however didn’t know to tell me that there might be pipe differences when replacing a 15 Year old dishwasher with todays new installs. Fortunately the contractor was able to get more plumbing supplies locally and he actually came back after his next customer to fix it. If not, I would’ve had to reschedule for another month and have a plumber come out to change the connection at more expense. Plumbers are close to $300/hr. Almost a third of the dishwasher cost. After all of that, I didn’t think TotalTech was worth it. The other reason is that I couldn’t get a good explanation about the second year of coverage. Is there a cost involved for that year, or does the original charge include coverage for that year? The $80 call out charge seemed excessive also. So different than other appliance contracts. It seems to operate more like a Home maintenance contract that doesn’t cover the whole house.

Posted .Total Tech membership provides free protection to qualifying products purchased while having the Total Tech membership for up to two years with deductibles if it is utilized for a covered repair. Items don't tend to come in demo mode, although some open box items may come with this on. We do also offer services to come out to see the area where an appliance will be installed to be able to foresee issues with non-standard install areas and to properly advise.

Unparalleled value!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant at first to purchase this membership given that you can't pay month to month, but I have already taken advantage of it and can see myself continuing to renew! I saved several hundred dollars on a new monitor I purchased, which balanced out the cost of the membership, while also tacking on an additional 2 year warranty direct from best buy, so if I have an issue they will handle it directly vs me needing to hassle with the manufacturer.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It’s definitely well worth it to get the total tech just text then your return policy to 60 days but in my opinion, you should get the 179 package this way you can get security on all your items the only reason I say all is because I have not run into an item yet that Bestbuy has not covered

However, still having to pay a service fee after paying 200 doesnt feel like the 200 dollars is buying me anything other than maybe protection on the item I bought for a year, then have to pay another 200 to be covered for the full 2 years. It says it covers you on items you buy from other stores but I inquired about my router setup and didnt get very far with the geek squad representative

I haven't used their other benefits so can't speak to those, but the Geek Squad has been useful so far.

Total Tech

It was worth it since my laptop was unusable and my IPAD was older and began having issues with it. Geek Squad scheduled me for the service and I decided to purchase a new ipad. They transferred my data and answered my questions. Great job. This service gives me the satisfaction of knowing I can rely on them for any repairs or questions.

Rejuvenate my tech
