Q: Can I cancel Totaltech™ Yearly Membership and get money back?

Q: Are the Geek Squad plans no longer available? Do you have to buy the $199 membership in order to get the tech support or is it available as a seperate service? thanks much, Linda

A: The old geek squad support plan has been replaced with total tech support. Does not even slightly compare to the service we used to receive! I recommended the old geek squad support to anyone I knew. They were so helpful, easy to deal with, easy to get a hold of! This new total tech support system is an absolute joke! The agents on the phone are rude, unhelpful, basically useless. The only thing they know how to do is repeat the questions you asked three and four times. I know a question I asked, I don’t need you to repeat it three times! save your money. If you have a problem with a computer, take it into the store and deal with the employees there rather than someone in the Philippines, who could care less about you.

Q: Why would Best Buy use this service to lock products behind $200 paywall and ignore their Best Buy elite customers?

A: Profits, Best Buy executives caught on to the number of consumers paying over retail price from various shopping outlets. Do you know how many customers of Best Buy will purchase thinking that the "Best Buy Totaltech" will solidify their chance of purchasing a next gen video gaming system?... It's not about combating bots but just to maximize profits... As consumers we do have the purchasing power to say enough is enough by not buying into this madness but we all must be behind the cause.

Q: Does this cover major repairs on major appliances for 2 years? For example, if the computer module on a kitchenaid true convection wall oven microwave combo went bad, would this "total protection" protect me from any associated costs for this?

A: Read the fine print. there is a fee associated with every claim so it it’s not cost free. Also if replacement parts or recondition parts are not available they’ll give you some prorate amount for new unit.

Q: If I join the membership do you come to my home to fix a microwave & set up a smart tv? We are elderly & can't bring items to store.

A: Yes, the Total Tech Support Membership will set up your microwave and set-up your smart television. They are outstanding. Please contact the store to schedule an appointment. I am elderly as well with an elderly mother.

Q: If I purchase the $199 Geek Squad membership, can a family member use it to have a new tv mounted if they purchased the tv from Best Buy?

A: Hi, A family member can use your Best Buy Totaltech Yearly Membership to have a new TV mounted if they purchased the TV from Best Buy. THE MEMBERSHIP COVERS ALL MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD LIVING AT THE MEMBER'S PRIMARY HOME ADDRESS, regardless of who purchased the TV. I hope this helps!
