    Geek squad abilities questionable

    I was connected to 4 Geek squad agents before 1 finally figured out how to connect my wireless printer to this computer. One agent singed off the virtual connection & NEVER communicated with me to say he/she finished the task (which he/she didn't do). Another agent transferred me to an agent because he couldn't figure out how to connect the wireless printer to my computer & wanted me to sign on to my computer until an agent accepted the request, which could be up to an hour! This would allow the agent to work on my computer without letting me know he/she was virtually accessing my computer & leaving my computer vunerable. The 4th agent spent hours getting 1 printer connected, unfortunately he was not able to find the driver to download & connect my other printer. Service not worth $200 so far!

    Only 5 months into my membership, but no sure if it does any good. I apparently can't return a brand new, malfunctioning item purchased at Best Buy. (Shouldn't even need the membership for that, but figured would have better service with it, but so far, nope.)

    Not Thrilled About The Service

    I have used the service three times since I purchased the yearly subscription. I used the on site consultation for Wi-Fi problems. The tech did zero troubleshooting and just recommend to replace my one year old router. The second time I used the service to clean up my laptop which they did an excellent job. The third time I called to get help installing the new Mesh system they recommended. Showed them my problem and again no troubleshooting or worked with me to see if they could solve my issue. They informed me the signal was not strong enough even though it was working for two other devices in the same area. They left within 15 minutes and I continued working on the problem until I solved the issue.

    Cancelled my memebership but was charged anyway

    So I am very disappointed with Best Buy. I now understand how the # of thier stores keeps dwindling and why soon they will be a relic like blockbuster. I was not satisfied with my total tech memebership because they have been dishonest with me so I chose to cancel it and they charged my card for another year of memebership almost immediately. Now I am broke and unsure of how to buy groceries for my kids. I work out of town and am only able to grocery shop once a week for my family, and today is that day. I will have to dispute the transaction with my bank who will cancel my card and send a new one, sure, but when I fly halfway across the country for work I will have no money and be leaving my kids with the little food we have in the house leftover from last weeks weekly shop. Thanks a lot Best Buy. I will never be buying anything from your company ever again. And you can’t leave zero stars? Well you deserve negative stars anyways.

      Total Tech membership is setup for auto-renewal and this can cause charges to be made accidently. We are glad to work on returning the funds as quickly as possible although availability depends on your banking entity.     Scheduled a delivery for a new purchase of a new dryer. Confirmation email received. Date confirmed. Logged in to check on the status of the delivery the day of and ZERO information or mention of the appointment. Forced to RE schedule. Called best Buy to get an explanation and nothing but DEFENSIVE customer service, and ZERO apology. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and zero chance to escalate to a manger. Next time I will GLADLY pay more to shop elsewhere. Unbelieveable. "Totaltech" - more like "TotalStupid". AWFUL!!

    Good deal if you shop at BB often

    For me having this made sense as I was buying more products from Best Buy and wanting to have installation options for my car. I really like the extra warranty that comes with each product as well . It’s a little pricey but so far I think worth it. Hopefully it will cover what I need . I do however wonder if home installs are included in the coverage? Like washers, dryers, hone theater, etc….

    I’m going to be a total tech member for life. The service is stellar and the geek squad technicians are very good at what they do and very helpful in helping the customer make the best decisions. Because of my total tech membership I have saved over hundreds of dollars already(3 months of having total tech)this includes installation fees, discounts and price matching a product I bought almost 2 months prior…. Get Total Tech you will not regret it!

    So I call support about my new dryer to get installation instructions . First woman at the number says she no do installs. Passes me to the second who sounds she is at a call center in Asia who leaves me on hold and never comes back. I go to the store in Laredo and Mr Grump Personality car radio installer ignores me for 15 minutes while he is on his cell phone saying u huh to a confused customer . I interrupt him and ask if I can put my van in the install bay to review with a u huh response. I also advice the manager at the store. After 30 minutes outside he never opens and I leave. Not worth the high cost.

    I bought this plan mainly for the annual camera cleaning it includes. However, it took 3 weeks, which was too long since I need my camera for work. When it came back to the store, it hadn't been cleaned because of a payment mix-up. Even though they sent it back overnight for cleaning, it will take another 3 weeks. When I called corporate to asked for compensation, they offered me just $17 for being without my camera for 6 weeks. Make sure Best Buy sends the payment with your camera to avoid this issue.

    The membership may be a decent value if you want to use Best Buy for repairs/installation, but since I wouldn't recommend doing that, the membership isn't worth buying. My experience was attempting to have a single SSD installed (with data transfer), and to reattach the case fans to a desktop computer. I was told it could take as long as 2-3 days, and more than 3 days later, I still don't have my computer back or any update from Best Buy. Even calling Geek Squad customer service wasn't enough to learn more, they just put a note on the service order to call me with an update, which the store working on my computer still hasn't done. Unless you're taking in a back-up computer or something else you don't really need, I would never suggest using Best Buy for service.

    The best money I've ever spent. These techs not only know their stuff, but they are so friendly and professional. They all take the time to explain each setup, without being condescending. You can tell they love their job. BB whatever you're doing keep it up. Do whatever you have to do to keep them because they are great. This membership has so many great perks, including, free installation on basic services, you just pay for the equipment, which can get at discounted rates. Scheduling is a bit weird, but for the most part pretty darned easy. You'll be happy if you invest in this service.

    I like knowing the products I purchase are under warranty without adding additional payments. The peace of mind alone is worth the annual payment for Total Tech. I am a person who loves my Apple tech products but adding apple care gets expensive. Total Tech-annual fee has already paid for itself and then some on my Apple products alone. I only wish i started this subscription before now. Peace of mind means less stress in my life.

    Total tack is a new program the Best Buy rolled out that helps you with labor-intensive products as well as protecting your goods when you buy them with a company. The overall benefit of total tech it’s to help make Best Buy a one stop shop for their consumers. And not only how she with covering all your labor when you need installation done. But it also helps cover service calls. It Even has a built-in protection plan on any product that you buy with the company. That plan can go up to two years. Definitely, worth the extra cost because it saves you money in the long run.

    I did not have a good experience with this program. I was told at the store that it would cover me for two years. At the time of purchase, they didn’t mention that I would have to renew it after a year to get the second year. I purchased a Sony XR 77A80J; it died after 18 months. I went in to talk to the Geek Squad, that’s when I found out I am not covered. I am sure if you understand the program it would work. I didn’t so it didn’t work for me. Now I need another TV. It was good for getting the things i bought from Bust Buy installed for free. Through this program i was able to get a few thing installed for free. I think they may have change this though.

    When the membership was first presented to me, I said no, or maybe next time. After purchasing my computer and talking with the tech, I was glad I purchased the membership. I wasn't prepared to pay an extra $200 that's why I declined at first. But I was told that family members can use the service, and there were other perks that were of interest. So we'll see how things go, going forward.

    The rep Jason told me if I buy another mount a TV and buy the total tech. They where to uninstall the Old TV mount the new mount and the would mount the old TV in the bedroom. However that was far from the case. I Called the total tech number the next day to see change the time for an earlier window, however this is where the problems start. 1 the rep stated the TV was going to be mounted. 2 I explained so is the old TV going to be in the bedroom, she repiled the old TV needed to be scheduled for a later date, so i stated fine i will not change anything. 3 she stated the tv was never stated to be remove and it will be an additional charge to do everything and mounting the new tv. Luckily for me it was just 1 day so i canceled everything including the tv.
