Total Protection

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The membership as it pertains to coverage is what earned this review two stars, that benefit is worthwhile considering the cost of an annual membership is about half of the cost, or more even then having an individual Sony Bravia TV protected. The reason I gave 2 stars is because of the "VIP Support" that is allegedly provided; In summary (to spare you a novel), I purchased an "Open Box" DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine drone with the "Fly More" bundle or whatever it's called. It retails for $4,999. Open-Box in in "Fair" or "Good" (can't recall) was on my phone at $3,600. When I arrived, they rung me up for $1,700. I tried to correct them, showed them the app, still rang me up for $1,700. Awesome, I'm good with that. Get home, open the drone, it was marked down for "Scuffs and scratches" - There was some smudges on the propeller wing, I literally wiped off the smudges, no scratches, and the drone can't be told apart from brand new. I turn it on, it's already bound to another user that had previously returned it. When it's bound, you can register an account, but not register the drone; And it sends all of your registration info to the registered drone user. So, tons of my PII was shared without my knowledge including email, password, etc. as well as GPS coordinates of my house, and everywhere I fly (which isn't far because it's handicapped until you verify you own the drone) I take it back to exchange it, I am told "with it being open box we can exchange it for new but you have to pay the difference" - $4999 minus $1700 = $3,299. No. Manager says the same, then offers to refund me instead. Uh, no. I want the drone that I purchased, this one was incorrectly marked down as scuffed when it's brand new; Best Buy made the error of not verifying it was unregistered prior to selling it. They should honor it and give me a new drone and take this one back and try to contact the previous owner to get him to un-marry it. I have spent $40,000 at BBY in the last year and a half. Even if they had to take a total loss on a brand new drone, that's a pretty small investment for a huge return in customer loyalty. Went to Better Business Bureau, hoping that someone with decision making power and business acumen would get the complaint. Nope. Got an email saying he had to talk to "internal team" (not sure why I'm not just talking to internal team instead of an inefficient middle messenger) - They replied, nothing they can do. So they'll let a customer who gives them $40k a year in purchasing walk away over replacing a drone in exchange for a brand new conditioned one that they just need to make a phone call to the previous customer to. Got it. No wonder they're closing stores.

You might think, at first that you won't need it, but having that piece of mind for me is worth it. Just in case. Also, the fact that it also extends to any new items. I bought a samsung galaxy tablet a few weeks after my laptop and was advised that because of my membership the warranty automatically covers my new tablet as well!! That is awesome.

I have always had very prompt service, even when I have been referred to a different repair company because I had to do a warranty rather than Best Buy repair.

No Brainer

From warranties to free installation and free haul always of your old equipment and/or appliances. Just the savings with those services the membership pays itself. Not to mention, discounts on certain items for members and even E-Gift cards when you sign up. It’s a must for all true BestBuy shoppers
