Excellent membership value!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This totaltech membership has been a such great value to my entire family over the last five YEARS. We have real peace of mind and feel secure with all our devices and do not have to worry about any technical issue as long as greek squad guys exist. Thank you for always protecting our devices from technical issues.

From the absolute Best to the absolute Worst!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TotalTech is (was) the only good thing about Best Buy, but given I will never buy from them again after 3 years of repeated incredibly BAD experiences (how is BB still in business?), TotalTech is irrelevant. Best Buy is now my showroom for products I will buy elsewhere from a reliable company. The sad part is that for over 3 decades, Best Buy was my go-to for electronics.

Membership Recommended for Appliances and Electron
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recommend purchasing a membership for individuals and families who use computers, electronic devices, and appliances. The membership saves money. Geek Squad staff in-store are knowledgeable and helpful. Live Chat Remote Support can be slow. However, for a desktop, remote support is preferable to moving the desktop computer to the store.

Don't waste your money on gimmicky memberships
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This service has been good in the past, but recent changes ruined it. When you call for tech service you get transferred to a foreign call center that can only give minimal help (unplug the machine and plug it back in) and they are very difficult to understand. So you have to pay an extra $112 for home service. Don't waste your money on these gimmicky memberships.

Total Tech is total frustration
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My one month old 65" LG Oled t.v. was serviced and needed a new power board. I was without a t.v. for one week before it was replaced. I could not get any help from Geek Squad. Finally it was fixed. Then I got an email that my service plan was cancelled because, "I returned the product." I spoke to plan support members in the Phillipines, Panama City, Guatemala, Texas and Illinois and still dont know if my plan has been reinstated?

Terrible deal - avoid at all costs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The "new" total tech support is a classic example of corporate America - taking a product that works well and then changing it completely for corporate greed for increasing the top line and then giving the customer a worse product from what it replaced. The old Total Tech worked surprisingly well. You paid a yearly fee and then got 20% off on any extended warranties and reduced prices on services such as TV installation, appliance installs, etc. It was like paying membership fees for Costco and then benefiting from reduced rates for the products they carry. That old Total Tech is dead. The "new and improved" Total Tech is a total rip off. Those reduced price extended warranties - gone - replaced by "free" extended warranty for 2 years - as long as you pay your yearly Total Tech fees of $200 / year. Plus every service call under your warranty now comes with a "service fee". The previous options of 3 or 5 years warranties don't even show up. Surprisingly, if you don't have Total Tech - you will get to choose the extended warranty options (like before). So let's do some math - you buy a new iPad Pro - which costs $129 for Apple Care + for 2 years. Under Total Tech - you do not have the option of buying Apple Care separately - you will get Apple Care + "included" however you will need to maintain your Total Tech membership for 2 years = $200 X 2 years = $400 instead of $129. In which world does this make sense? Let's take another scenario. Let us say you bought a new TV and decided to move your old TV to a different bedroom. Previously, you could pay $50 / TV for advanced mounting (where they would hide your wire behind the drywall) and get then both installed. So in this case, 2 TVs would cost you $100 total for mounting. If you did not buy a new TV, you could still use this service and save a bunch of money. Well not anymore. In the "new and improved" Total Tech - free installation is available, however, only for the new TV that you purchase. That old TV which you want to move to the bedroom - instead of the old $50 / TV, you now pay$159.99 (special Total Tech price). I could give more examples but I sense you get the picture now. With this new Total Tech, it is much better to evaluate other options where you get much better extended warranties, better return policies and in many cases better prices. Subscribing to the "new" Total Tech only makes sense if you are buying thousands of $$$ worth of items every year to justify going on paying $200 / year.

Misinformation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The employee told me that if I signed up for this, I would have lifetime coverage for any products purchased while it was active. 100% false. Imagine my surprise when I talked to a different rep and they told me that my coverage ended if my membership ended. Misinformation is the main reason this got 1 star. FYI if you want to cancel the membership, call and cancel, don't try to do it online because it doesn't work all the time.

Membership Doesn’t Have its privileges …
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been a Member since 2009 and have spent a lot of money on things at Best Buy, including a higher end Home Theatre System. Earlier this year had to buy a new TV, dropped more than a dime. TT delivered and made sure all was good. Membership expired. Now we need to replace the AVR and (1) they have nothing except super high-end products but we can get the AVR we want from Manufacturer but we can’t get TT and installation because we aren’t buying the AVR from them. In the end, BB has lost that top rated, high quality Customer Service that kept us as Customers for more than a decade.

Peace of Mind on a big ticket item
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hope never to need it, and I would only consider on extremely high ticket $ items, or if you are buying a computer and you have never had any experience of them.

Such a scam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a scam they sell you the warranty for a year but then tell you to use you manufacturers warranty. I spoke with Aly on the phone who refused to get me to a manager stating there was only one manager who was going to be on a call for the next 3 hours.

Don't waste your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had purchased this totaltech warranty, when I $3500 TV had dead pixels we were told total tech would not cover it, neither would the manufacture. Everything that we had purchased the extended warranty for was not covered. The manager was difficult to deal with, very arrogant and rude.

Still waiting on the geek squad no show today
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The geek squad agent text and said would be here at 1:10pm and then a no show. Took vacation day to be here. Unreliable and March Madness starts tomorrow. Guess I'm out of luck. Phone support was worthless other that rescheduling the appointment. Agent would not answer his cell either. both for me and the store tried to contact the agent. Guess he took the afternoon off.
