I signed up for the Best Buy Total Membership hoping it would provide real value over the year, but honestly, it’s been a letdown. For the hefty annual price (currently $179.99), I expected more inclusive benefits. While the plan sounds great on paper—tech support, product protection, discounts, and service perks—you’ll quickly find that you still end up paying a good chunk out of pocket for things you thought were covered. For example: Repairs often have service fees or labor costs that aren’t included. Discounts on certain items are minimal or limited to things I rarely buy. The “exclusive access” perk feels underwhelming—nothing I wouldn’t already see as a regular customer. Reading through other customer reviews, I’ve seen a lot of the same feedback: Confusion about what's actually included Disappointment with the level of coverage Some mentioned the plan used to be better, but recent changes made it feel more like a cash grab. The only real perks I’ve consistently used are free shipping and the 24/7 tech support, which is helpful but not enough to justify the high price tag—especially when I still have to pay for many services or repairs anyway. Bottom line: Unless you’re constantly buying big-ticket tech from Best Buy or need frequent tech help, the value just isn’t there. I’d recommend doing the math based on your usage before committing for a full year.

The Total Geek Squad is an excellent program and a great value. I would suggest it for any electronic purchase.

Very priceie, but probably worth it if there were a problem.

I didn't have this when one of my first laptops crashed, and I lost pretty much everything on the device. But, Geek Squad got me a back-up device and the insurance afforded by the Membership, which has provided me with a feeling of security. Especially with student loans and rent to pay. Tech can be integral to the day and thus can be very stress-inducing if/when it doesn't work. Now, I don't worry about the tech not working AND the financial ramifications when that's the case, I just think: pivot the schedule and device. The Geek Squad has me covered and will get me back up and running easy peasy. It's not a big deal. Way better than what it was with my first crash. I am very thankful for the Membership.

I would be lost without the support of Geek Squad. I did not grow up with computers so am a bit overwhelmed when something goes wrong. The staff with Geek Squad are always patient and ready to explain when I have problems. They don't hesitate to teach when I need it, and to help me with selections when I have to purchase something new.

Geek squad support is worth the membership but it gives you more than that.

This membership has been worth more than its weight in gold. We purchased a new wall oven at Best Buy and due to our membership, the delivery, installation and removal of the old oven cost us nothing beyond the initial cost of the new oven. We have had numerous problems with our laptop due to fraudulent activities, a recent scam, the need to purge the computer, the crash of the hard drive and replacement of a new one, setting up our sound bar and configuring our devices and apps to be in accord with internet provider, solving disconnection problems caused by a new housekeeper, cleaning out the port to my iPad so that it could be charged, to name most, but not all of our recent experiences where we called upon Geek Squad to come to our aid. They always did and within a very reasonable amount of time. Each member of the Geek Squad who has helped us and solved our problems has been very pleasant, resourceful, quick to diagnose and solve the problems and respectful even when they could have laughed at our ignorance.

The way they treated me was really respectful even though I yelled at the costumer service person " He waved the fees for me " Ultimately " Great personnel "
