    this is helpful. I used it to have them build my gaming pc and not all the parts from Best Buy. they did it for free.

    Typical "Insurance"

    Tried to recover data from Computer and ended up with Year warranty service that otherwise never used and was NOT ABLE TO RECOVER DATA as offered. Overall, same as all Insurance- Over priced and Great if you need it but must balance that majority of time either unused or unable to fix anyway!

    I feel the Geek Squad leaves much to be desired. To have a tech come to my home I had to wait three weeks. Then he told me I needed a new computer. Well, I didn't. I needed a part and it works fine. I also have a problem understanding them on the phone. This is Amerca. They should not speak on the phone if they can't be understood.

    Poor service from Geek Squad

    Geek Squad is terrible! Have taken my computer in twice to have my backup installed, and have been given every excuse not to do it. Techs keep going back and forth to the back for instructions and don't seem to know any more than I do, and leave after an hour with nothing accomplished. TV installers were no better. Rushed through everything and just tried to talk me into a new wifi system, saying they would make another appointment to install it (which they did not). Tried calling for help on my Samsung TV. Waited an hour for the tech to call back, and he only told me to call Samsung.

    Tried calling and was disconnected several times, tried to use chat which was said to be the quickest way to contact them and was given an hour long wait. I gave up after 40 minutes of waiting and the wait time was still over 30 minutes.

    Charge for installing products bought at Best Buy!

    I'm sorry to say I am very disappointed in this service. I was looking forward to the installation service for my tech gear. I recently bought a ring alarm on the best buy site and when I bought it it I did not give me the option to add installation. When I called best buy after to schedule an installation they tried to charge me $150 for installation! They told me their policy is that I need to add the installation when I buy the product for it to be included. However I was not given that option when I bought the product on their site! For $200 a year this is a horrible experience for clients.

      Items would need to be purchased at the time of setting up the installation for the Total Tech membership discount to be applied. If you have already purchased the product and it is under the 60 day return policy you can have it setup as a return and exchange to get around this inconvenience.
