Sales person versus actual details of Total Tech
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The explanation of the Total Tech membership by the selling agent was not what the service actually provided. For the $199.00 per year I was told that not only would the washer/dryer that I was buying be covered but all of my appliances would be covered. What I wasn't told was that if there were issues with my new washer dryer, I would first need to go to the manufacurer's warranty then Total Tech would help. The problem was that the manufacture's warranty was for one year so the coverage from total tech added zero for the washer/dryer. As for other appliances, there was a maximum of 10 applicances including the washer/dryer. For other appliances, up to 8 additional, I would receive a discounted service price only. I did receive some free items on my new washer/dryer including free electrical cords and free haul away worth approximately $90.00. I immediately called to cancel the Total Tech which occured without incident. They refunded approximately $110.00 which was the $199.00 less the $90.00 of cords and haul away. The refund was handled ok but I don't see where the $199.00 was of any great value.

Geek squad is the rudest non helpful care team
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Anytime you try to price match they give you the run around and make you spend hours before they finally do it. I spent 1100 in parts on a computer I had them build and it overheated and broke in 3 days and the cheapest part I used was a nvidia 3050 graphics cards they did nothing to help. Geek squad is extremely rude on the phone and will belittle you every chance you get horrible customer service and care. Everytime I call them I feel as if my life don’t matter And I’m only 3 months into paying for the service I tried to cancel but they only offered a 20 dollar refund So I declined just in case there is a emergency and they need to remote access but all I can say is I’ve never been treated like dirt after spending thousand in a store. And having such low quality customer care I spent so much on a brand new game build and couldn’t believe the amount wires that they said weren’t needed that they gave back. Pretty sure that was a reason it overheated and fried

Product warranty & TV mount, rest bogus

Total tech membership is good only for tv mount and product warranty. Let me write down my experience 1. Store associate at Bolingbrook, IL nudged me to buy sony rear speakers. My idea was to buy a tv, soundbar and Subwoofer. So I went along with it and he scheduled a free total tech tv mount and rear speaker mount install for me. 2. The tv mount person comes home and mounts the tv, but says he is not qualified to mount rear speakers. Asks me to contact best buy again. 3. I reach out to best buy (total tech expert live chat), they say their agents are qualified to do this and schedules a day for the install. 4. The time slots given are 9-1 am so I wait and at 2 pm the agent calls (did not even visit my place) and says he cannot do the rear speaker install as he is not qualified to do so and says he can do a site survey instead. I refused for site survey and said the total tech chat members specifically told me that they are qualified to do so. But he refused to install. 4. I reach out to total tech chat again and explain the situation, they apologized and scheduled another person to do it the same day, with an advanced agent. so now the window is 2 to 8 pm. 5. At 5 pm the advanced agent calls me and says he cannot do it, and tells me that total tech chat members lack context and they schedule these installs even though their agents are not qualified to do this. 6. So totally 3 best buy total tech agents refused to even accept what they advertize. If you look up the free installs that they cover under total tech membership, it mentions clearly these services Audio & Video Services Soundbar Setup and Connection or Mounting Speaker Installation Wall and Ceiling Speaker Installation But their agents refuse to even visit home to do this. My advice to other total tech members or even prospective total tech membership buyers, your total tech membership is only worth for warranty for products and tv mounting. Rest all is just a lie. Use caution in purchasing this membership, think twice if its even worth it and dont believe all that they advertise, their agents refuse to even visit your house.

Posted .Many of our reps are more then qualified to setup standard rear speakers although in some cases homes would need to be pre-wired as this can be a completely different service. Site surveys do help so that it can be better documented to learn what type of service may be necessary as In Home Advisors would be the norm to better situate what sound system is available and what services may be needed and assisting with setting up the proper representative for the install. RIPOFF

Unaware of the changes, we renewed our membership in October, 2023 and now discover we have to pay 80% of what used to be 100% covered. This is the BIGGEST RIPOFF. BEST BUY SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR PULLING OFF THIS SCAM TO ITS LOYAL CUSTOMERS CAUTION-WHY PAY $179.00 TO GET A 20% DISCOUNT? I was quoted $200 per hour labor rate for in home services that were no charge prior to June, 2023. BEST BUY’s alias is Buyer be ware.

I purchased this service along with a 65" LG TV because the salesman told me that as long as I was a total care member, the television would be fully warranted and replaced if needed. I called to have a simple repair and was told the diagnostics would cost 108.00 (20.00 discount) just to look at it (not including the cost of parts). I told the repair service that I had the total care service and what the salesman told me and was told that they changed the rules after I purchased it and they sent an email to that effect. I never got an email or was told anything. I bit the bullet and paid the fee and set up a service date. I took off work to wait for them and they never showed. No phone call, no email. I called and they said they cancelled my appaointment and had no reason why but they could set me up another appointment 10 days later. I paid 200.00 a year to save 20.00. If you buy this service, you didnt pay attention in math class. I have cancelled my service. TOTALLY A WASTE of MONEY.

Total Tech Membership what a joke
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.What a joke Total Tech Membership when I purchased it the sales person told me that all my appliances were covered as long as I owned them I have purchased the membership for the past 5 years needed to have my refrigerator repaired told it was a $130.00 service call 20% off on labor and what ever the price for any parts not what I was told when it was purchased told that everything was covered under the membership now being told only for 2 years after purchase why PAY FOR SOMETHING for all these years if you can’t use it after the 2 year period
