Customers praise the Best Buy Totaltech™ Yearly Subscription for its value, Geek Squad support, and the peace of mind it provides. They appreciate the free installation and setup services, as well as the protection and discounts offered. However, some customers express concerns about long wait times, the subscription's cost, limited coverage, and the fact that the warranty ends with the membership.

I feel using Best Buy Total Tech will save me a great deal of frustration and time in solving problems with all of my Apple devices. The customer service is much better than at the Apple Store. Going forward I will always replace my Apple products at Best Buy, not the Apple Store.

Worst delivery and installation service ever

This has been the worst customer service, delivery and membership experience ever, and probably will never have any experience worse than this one with Best Buy/Total Tech service. Today is the 4th time they don’t show up for a delivery & installation appointment and now they want to reschedule it for the 5th time, this situation has been so aggravating and frustrating, made tenant miss three days at work and today all his Saturday and now they just called saying they won’t be doing the work today!!! they had me calling them and I even had to go in person to one of the stores. they keep on saying they are escalating this issue but they take the same steps as on previous times and expecting different results. now they are rescheduling it for next week for the 5th time!!! I was also told at some point I can pick up the microwave at a store and install it myself, then why is delivery and imstallations offered and paid for with the total tech membership?? I think by now my best option is cancel the purchase, cancel my membership get a refund for the microwave and a full refund for the TT membership since it hasn’t been honored by them. Very disappointed and angry with all this situation.

I buy my appliance and electronics purchases from BestBuy and the Totaltech membership is a good value including membership pricing, and the best technical customer support for all products in the area. I have tried other programs and this is by far the best

Total Tech is not customer friendly

We have dealt with Best Buy and The Geek Squad for years Currently, even though we have a Total Tech membership, we can not schedule someone to come to our home to service our Best Buy purchases Best Buy wants us to take theater systems, tvs, appliances, eero systems into the store for diagnosis of problems - THIS IS NUTS! We are looking for other options to purchase and maintain our appliances, theater systems, tvs, and sound system needs

    Disappointed and disheartened

I'm very disappointed by the customer service associated with totaltech. I was a member starting 5/2022. My husband and I spent THOUSANDS at best buy and bout total tech. My credit card was stolen and my bank issued a new credit card. Unbeknownst to me, this rendered my renewal invalid. Best buy stated they sent an email however I *literally* get 3 emails A DAY from them and it was sent to spam. I called multiple times to speak with a totaltech associate and asked to speak with a manager. I was told a manager would call me back. He didn't, he left a voicemail instead. I called back and was transferred TWICE to people who weren't managers. Finally after hours of my day were wasted I spoke with a manager and was told NOTHING could be done despite the My Best Buy Total Terms of Service STATING "At our sole option, we may provide additional opportunities to cure the Non-Payment Event pursuant to the notice(s) we send to you regarding the Non-Payment Event." All I wanted to do was give them money to have my membership reinstated but they wouldn't help me. I would avoid this total tech plan, they do not follow their own terms of service.

Geek Squad remote is untrustworthy and kniving

I gave geeksquad access to my computer remotely on 9/23/23 to try and do maintence on a slow lap top, after the agent said the "service was finished" i thought they did not have access to my computer anymore because the visit had concluded and the agent closed the chat box. A survey popped up after that which i closed and i guess that made the agent mad cuz they proceeded to take control over my mouse again open word doc type super agressive questions like why did i close the survey with out filling it out and now they wont get points for a good survey and some horible things on top of that. That agent then proceeded to go through some files deleting stuff out of my c drive including important reports i needed and doing god knows what else , let me remind you the visit had concluded. She probably added spyware to my laptop also. Geeksquad has done nothing to remedy this situation and ibwill be taking further action as no managent has contacted me

    I feel scammed

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this to get 2 years of protection and a discount on my purchase since it was $60 for the protection and a discount of $30. Turns out, the 2 years of protection only applies if you pay twice for Totaltech and is cancelled when it runs out. But Best Buy offers a chance to refund within 60 days? But they keep the $30 discount from the product. The discount was advertised to apply to the product, not to Totaltech, so essentially I spent $30 more than I otherwise could have for the product and then another $30 on top of that for a fake discount after tricking me. But I can just switch to Plus to keep the discount and get refunded the difference, getting the benefits of plus without the scam that is Totaltech? But only if I go to the store to do it or wait forever on the phone as they offer all the scammy options online but not the one reasonable option. This whole experience left a very bad taste for me.

Total tech is a money grab!

I have had total tech for 2 years. Every time I call in they can never fix anything under the plan. Even now after calling for a TV still under the plan that started having issues with pressure they would not repair or replace the item. Don’t waste your money on total tech. Even know when you want to have something done they want to charge you after already having have paid the yearly subscription of $200. This plan is just a money grab for anyone who is will to pay them. The 20% off fixing anything is a crap shoot because they are getting another $100 out of you. Not once has Best Buy ever fixed anything of mine for a reasonable quoted price based on the already yearly paid amount.

Love my Geek Squad. Truly a no-brainer investment! No matter how big or small the issue is, they get it fixed right away. The convenience of having them do the repair while I watch from my home office and not have to go to the store is incredibly helpful!

Beware the automatic renewal. Never refunded

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If I could give a 0, I would. I don't believe the higher reviews are actual buyers. I bought a Total Tech membership for one year. It was renewed on my Citibank Best Buy card the next year, without an email or written notice to me. I only found out about the automatic renewal when I bought a router. At the Best Buy store, I asked for refund of the Total Tech membership that I did not even know I had. They said I had to dispute with Citicard. I disputed with Citicard, who told me I could only get refund by cancelling my card. I cancelled the Citicard but never got the Total tech $199 charge refunded. I called and Citicorp 5 times and did written dispute of this charge. Last November, after 8 months they finally told me that only Best Buy can refund the charge. I spoke to Best Buy, most recently operator MJ, who said that it was too late to get either a reund or an additional year of Total Tech at no charge. It may be useful if you need it, but to spend $199 and never even know you have it or use it, it is a terrible value. And Best Buy has unethical selling/advertising practices. If you can just sell to people who need the service and not automatically charge people who do not need the service, you would have many more customers.

I find that having the Totaltech membership to be a lifesaver, especially after my Refrigerator appliance, having 4 service calls for the same problem within two years, enable me to get that appliance replaced.

Be warned! totaltech not what they say!

Washing machine leaving clothes sopping wet. Originally purchased the machine in 2015 from BB w/extended warranty. My totaltech shows that the machine should be covered. Any previous issues w/washer & dryer were free. This time - nothing would be covered. Not even the diagnostic fee. I spoke to 4 to 5 customer service reps to find out why. I would have to pay a $125/service call, & if the problem was the shocks & springs $131/labor & $68/parts, plus tax. So just starting out it could be almost $350. Also, I was given a date & time for repair which was 2 days away. The repair company called me & told me that it doesn't work that way and they were much further out to schedule. I called a different company. I paid that man $60 to find out that it wasn't worth repairing. The tub was off balance because the center rod had rusted. One of the agents I spoke to told me that Best Buy doesn't have any of its own washing machine repair mechanics & that's probably why I would be charged. Not even a free diagnostic! So totaltech was a huge bust.

    Total tech doesn’t take ownership

When you can’t get a delivery + install order right , two times in a row, it shows problems at multiple levels. I ordered a Built-in microwave delivery + install for a date. First of all the windows are wide, I was told I will get a call day before with shorter window. Never got it, got a text from the installer on the day of install. Later he calls and tells me that Best Buy didn’t even ship the Microwave. So after lot of yell and cry , got it reschedule to today (Apr 13,2023) still the exact same problem again. So this tells me that Totaltech support don’t care about customers. They are not accountable ,they don’t follow through to make sure it gets done. If you can’t get a delivery + install right - you shouldn’t even be in this business. Best Buy has no idea the inconvenience this has caused .

I gave it one star because anything less is not allowed. I have the total tech membership and have had more problems with getting help, then before I was a member. They have rescheduled 3 times and its been over a month to get someone out. To pay for this type of customer service is un heard off. (I never had anyone reschedule twice let alone three times).

    HORRIBLE SERVICE/VERY UNCOMFORTABLE

I DO NOT recommend this service, especially if you are a woman. Besides the first tech being unacceptable to help, he made me very uncomfortable after the next couple times when I would schedule an apt and would be given a name attached to the confirmation number, overtime less than 24 hours before the apt it would get canceled and the rep would be scheduled whom I asked not to be. I'd call and have to reschedule days later. What a complete waste of time, the help chat and phone number were like I don't know why it's changed every time but you can have the guy who makes you uncomfortable and can't fix your issue come or you can schedule it for a week from now. He actually said to me on my first apt "why don't you just hire an IT guy". Uhm?

    Tech support is terrible overall.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We have used tech support for several years. It often takes several hours to repair or fix the computer glitch, More times than not, they create additional problems when they are finished. One example of a tech person creating two separate entries for one email address. This was created by them, There were over 300 files in one email email which were deleted by tech support. They then said to contact Spectrum to retrieve lost messages. Spectrum indicated this was not possible. Over all they are a terrible solution for anyone with computer problems. Often difficult to understand the personnel.
