    TOTAL PLAN is a SCAM

    I have now had 2 products- One coffee maker that was missing parts and now an IRobot that is only 2 months old that had a piece break off. In neither case was I able to get the product issues resolved by simply calling or working through my Total Plan. I was told to call the manufacturer and deal with them. I thought the purpose of buying the BEST BUY TOTAL PLAN was that BEST BUY would handle the issues relating to product deficiencies. So disappointed with the purchase of this protection plan. It does not provide the services is purports to sell,

    Worth the extra money

    I don't always get the Protection Plans, but Im glad I did this time. I had bought an Insignia TV for my daughter for Christmas and only had a 2 year Protection. Shortly after that 2 year mark, the TV went out. I ended up buying her another Insignia and this time got the 5 year Protection plan. Shortly after 1 year, it went out with the same problem; no picture just sound. With this 5 year Protection plan I was able to get her a better tv, a Toshiba. So far it is working good.

    I have the totaltech support and was very disappointed. I had a tech working on my problem and he disconnected. I called again and got another tech and the same thing happened. He never called back either and my problem was not resolved.

    Replace my cook top thats under warranty

    The GE oven went well and service was done. Although my cook top ...sent an technician who spoke not good english. Tried to explain poorly that he only fixed mechanical issues. And my issue with my cook top is just surface. Cracked in several places, I still would like to replace my unit.

      Accidental damage to your unit can be difficult. While these damages aren't under any available warranty for your large appliance it could be possible to repair at a cost. Please note that appliances do not receive accidental damage plans under our Total Tech plans. Please note that we can see to setup an appointment and charges for parts and labor would be needed as it wouldn't be a covered incident under your plan. You may also contact your manufacturer as well for a repair on the surface of the cooktop.

    No value with My Best Buy

    The membership used to be high value when it was totaltech. When it became my best buy total, it got rid of free appliance installaion, free repair, and youll wuickly find out none of your products are covered when you need to use it. Oh, and as for the 24 hour Geek support, dont bother. You'll be talking with customer service reps and not "techies" and their goal is to schedule an appt at the nearest Best Buy for you to pay top dollar for uncovered repairs.

    The membership didn’t provide great value. Dealing with customer service makes you want to pull your hair out. We had installation issues and received the run around for over an hour and still made no progress. Management was supposed to contact us, but no one ever did. Imaging trying to work out any type of warrant claim with this service. You will be bounced around customer service centers where you need to restate your problem each time as notes don’t seem to be unified between groups and platforms. I would not recommend this service.

      Getting help can sometimes be difficult. Total Tech plans make repairs/replacements easy with in store and in home options where our Geeks can come out in most instances to help with making the process as simple as we can. Please note that the plans under Total Tech do have a deductible if used and are free for up to two years while you have your Total Tech plan active.     Total tech service horrible

    I want to give total tech 0 or negative stars. I purchsed a nest thermostat 3 weeks ago. They did not have in store, but said installer would bring to my house. 1st appoint was cancelled due to no installer available, rescheduled. 2nd appointment cancelled due to no nest thermostat, reschedule. 3rd installation, installer wasn't told to puck up merchandise from store. I called total techand they offered reschedule and $245.99 gift card and supervisor would call me next day. No call, so i called them. Theyre resolution is to restart ticket so all my issues i complain about go away and unsure if they will give me promised giftcard and someone will call in 1 week to reschedule installation. This is horrible customer service and them trying to make the problem go away.

    Won't Honor Their Warranty

    Was sold this program on assurances it would cover all electronics in the household no matter the problem. When I tried to use it, the local store customer service rep would not honor it, making excuses. When shown a copy of the terms of service they made even more excuses that it did not, even though the terms of service clearly state that it will cover all purchases of the member and the member's family living in the same household.

    Benefit terms keep reducing overtime

    The product in itself is good. However, I keep getting revisions to the terms agreed upon. I feel like I am not getting the value I agreed to pay for but a different product. When does it stop with the revisions

      Revisions for the Terms and Conditions do apply for the Total Tech Membership and purchases are assessed by the purchase date to be under one revision or another. Some things have changed like the restocking fee not being waived, although many options that create savings for our customers have stayed like the protection plan covered for up to two years with a deductible if used, but free otherwise while the membership is active, and other discounts on products/services.     Technicians are not qualified and Horrible Cus Svc

    Horrible service and technicians have no experience or expertise. I bought a Samsung 86 in TV from Bestbuy and added the Totaltech membership. The TV was having issues so I called the Totaltech service; after few days a guy comes and could not solve the issue. He said I will have to call Totaltech service again for this particular issue. I called back and received an appointment after three weeks! And guess what nobody shows up on the appointment date. Customer service said they cannot contact the person who is supposed to come. I cannot watch TV since I bought it. Horrible. It's a scam.

      Total Tech plans provide protection for your purchases that are eligible for up to 2 years if the Total Tech is active from the time of the television purchase. Geek Squad Home Theater repair appointments can be setup at 800-433-5778 or on Facebook/Instagram Best Buy Support or Twitter @BestBuySupport. Most agents can be scheduled as soon as available.

    Overpriced and overpromised

    You will probably only use this one time to get everything set up properly. Buy good quality products and you will probably never need this overpriced service again. The exception is if you buy low quality products or you won't or don't know how to keep your computer secure. In my case they promised to haul off 3 tvs for free when they came to set up my new one. The techs van was so full of crap that my old projection TV took up all of the remaining space. The tech said they would come back for the other two TVS at a later date. When I called to set up another pickup they refused to come back unless I paid for removal. I still have those two tvs because they are too big for me to move.
