    My Not Total Tech experience

    First time customer. I bought a Samsung TV, and had it mounted on the wall. Purchased AT&T cable. Tried to connect the HDMI cable after the TV was mounted on the wall. No HDMI connection-it's on the back of the TV. Called Total Tech, and the agent said the HDMI was somewhere on the back, near a corner. I asked which corner-my TV has four corners. He said "maybe the lower right corner". No connection there. Solution was that Total Tech needed to come out to connect the HDMI cable. I made an appointment, for about 5 days later, left work early to meet the technician. He asked if I had a surge protector with at least three prongs. I said "no, I don't". He said "well you have to have one or an extension cord". I had neither. I asked where I could get one. He said CVS has them. I drove to CVS. No surge protectors, so I left quickly and drove to Home Depot-10 minutes away. The tech calls me and asked when I would return. I said "I'm at Home Depot now". About 10 minutes. His reply "well, it's almost 6 pm, we have to leave". I also asked him about the TV speaker, because It's hard to hear and I don't have very good hearing. HIs answer "Oh, you need a sound bar, the TV speakers arent' very good. I can't make this stuff up. No Total Tech, not cable TV hookup. It didn't go well.

    Exclusive Access "Con"

    So one of the biggest problems I've had so far, besides the exuberant pricing, is that when you buy the membership, it's not instant. I've been waiting for a while just for access to buy a Switch OLED online that only Totaltech members have exclusive access to. The biggest problem is that by the time I have "access", it'll probably be sold out. What I don't understand is why a company as large as Bestbuy cannot make the membership instant and have us wait hours.

    I called geek squad about an issue. Told the guy what happened and he said “hold on” and then we got disconnected. Called back. Different person same result. And a third time…same thing. What’s sad is it’s very minor they didn’t seem to want to deal with it because each person kept telling me to take it to the local store…it’s about my webroot subscription.

    WORST MEMBERSHIP AND COMPANY I HAVE EVER SEEN

    THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY AND SERVICE I EVER SEEN I PURCHASE A TV ON THE 23rd OF DECEMBER WITH A INSTALL DATE AND DELIVERY OF JAN 6th THE INSTALL WAS SOME THIRD PARTY WHO DOESN’T SPEAK ENGLISH MY TIME SLOT WAS 1:45 to 4:45 HE SHOWED UP AT 12:00 WHILE I WAS ON MY WAY HOME 3 BLOCKS AWAY HE TOLD ME HE WOULD NOT WAIT AND BE BACK LATER TO NEVER SHOW UP AND TOTAL TECH HAS NO HELP AND WANTS TO THROW MY DELIVERY TO THE 20TH AFTER I WAS TOLD RESCHEDULE WOULD BE 10TH TO WICH I HAVE A RECORDING OF THE MANAGER JEZUZ TELLING ME THIS MEMBERSHIP IS A JOKE AND SO IS BEST BUY THEY CONNECT YOU TO 20 DIFFERENT PEOPLE GOD KNOWS WHERE WHO DO NOTHING BUT SEND U TO MORE PEOPLE WHO KNOW NOTHING

    Online chat as a Total Tech member was ridiculous. Took forever, Had to tell them the problem 3 different times, ask them on the chat if anyone was there twice. They finally told me I would have to go into the store. The summary they sent me by email didn't even have the correct problem.

    Total tech is ripoff

    Bought TV from BB, went to buy bracket mount and sound bar. They informed me that without total tech it would be 491$ to mount the 55" TV to the wall. With Total tech it would be 250$! I bought all equipment at BB. Total rip off. They tell you all this stuff is free with your 200$ membership, but there are a million exceptions. Like you have to buy all your stuff on the same day! Which makes no sense right? They wouldnt mount our TV because my wife paid for it at checkout instead of me! Same CC account, same household! This is classic BB, I have always been wary of them, and this is the last straw for me.

      Total Tech membership does allow delivery/install discounts on items that are on the same receipt, although there is a way to get around this if the purchase was done recently.     Buyer beware - Glitter but not golden

    Elite Plus member here: This is reportable to the Attorney General scam. Upfront it looks great BUT in order to use the warranty, the client has to keep the $199 annual subscription in place. You become trapped. products have a warranty for 2 years only whereas buying a separate warranty can go up to 4 years. Then there is the fee you have to pay when using the warranty ($80 to repair a laptop for example). And you do not have the option to buy the extended replacement plans. If you let the subscription lapse, you have lost all warranties. This is unethical. I don't know how BB was able to get this in practice. This will benefit the person who plans to pay $200 for a minimum of 4 years, are an elite plus member, and constantly having problems with purchases,

    I was disappointed with this membership. When I purchased it I was told that I could bring any tech thing for fixing. Every time I brought something in I was told it was covered. Why was I paying for something I couldn’t use.

      I'm not sure if you may have meant that it wasn't covered. Software issues are covered within store for most devices, although hardware or service costs would not full be covered under the Total Tech plan. Service costs for repairs are 20% off on items purchased before Total Tech membership was active or from another store, parts would be covered under the Total Tech Protection Plans on items purchased at store while under the membership with a slight deductible.     Not a happy Best Buy Geek Squad person

    My washing machine has had 3 apots, one he didn't come after asking me what is was doing, then ordered parts. Came on following appt, put in part, needed another after getting code. Next appt partner came put in part and needed more items. Now waiting on thise parts. Not happy with this experience.
