Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with BioShock Infinite's captivating gameplay and storyline, praising the immersive environment and unique setting. Many also highlighted the game's excellent sound design and weaponry. While some found the difficulty level to be somewhat easy and the save points infrequent, the positive feedback on other aspects largely outweighs these criticisms.

Not that exciting, would not of bought it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the original BioShock and loved it. this one is not so challenging. The play is slow and difficult to maintain interest. Would not buy it if I had to do again. I sold it one week after purchase at a 30 dollar loss. No fun at all, save your money.

Decent game but expected more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I dont see what people talk about when they say they love this game. The gameplay becomes boring after a couple hours. Repetitive. Its is a good game dont get me wrong but not a 9/10 game.

I Don't Understand the Five-Star Reviews
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't get it. All the reviews I have read in the game magazines, online, etc. gave high recommendations for this game. The game is OK but I don't think it is all that amazing. I'd much rather play Halo 4 or Call of Duty. The story is pretty intriguing but the gameplay seems less advanced and less exciting than Halo or CoD. Collecting the coins, the fighting gameplay, just interacting with the world seems like a step back in First-Person games. I thought it was all rather boring. Maybe I'll try it again after I achieve Mastery level on Halo 4. ?

Bioshock Infinite
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finished Bioshock Infinite in about 15 hours and although normally I would say that was a bit on the short side, this is a game that you can play again because 1) it is beautiful, 2) it feels dense, with lots to discover, 3) the difficulty is a bit on the low side, and 4) there are lots of different ways to play. This is not quite as bad as the original Bioshock where you just woke up in a Vita Chamber and kept going, instead it costs some money (but on Normal, you'll be swimming in that for most of the game, and I knew it'd cost money so I didn't spend too much money on things I did not really need). So unlike before there is a penalty, but realistically it doesn't impact much. Different ways to play ... there are stacks of weapons and you can only carry two at a time. So there are some I never picked up, and although I don't know exactly what each does, playing through again to find out would definitely be worth it. Same with the Vigors which replace Plasmids, which you can all collect, but because of money constraints I did not max out. I only used about half (there are eight) and again, there is a bit of game play variation to be gotten there. Overall you sort of start and find a rhythm and just ... keep going. The game sucks you in and you just play. In a way that is rare for a game these days. As mentioned the game is easy and really there are no significant penalties for dying, which to some might seem like a disappointment but Irrational Games did include a 1999 difficulty which is somewhat akin to Hardcore / Nightmare and it can be unlocked before you start by using the Komani Cheat. But I have not yet played that mode (looking forward to it though :D ). Alright so having covered that difficulty isn't that much of an issue (either way) and presumably you've seen some screenshots that tell you the game is gorgeous. I played it on my laptop, bought in December 2012 with a GeForce 640, no worries on Ultra. There were two slowdowns, though not during combat, when I was getting Elizabeth to pick a lock whilst she was having a chat with my character. Maybe some oddity with streaming the audio ... who knows. Eitherway, it looks gorgeous and runs well, which isn't surprising given the age of the Unreal Engine. Still it looks fantastic, which just goes to show that Epic did a great job on that engine, and Irrational made the most of it. Similarly, the sound scape is great, voice acting is decent: it doesn't stand out as fantastic, nor does it ever great, it just fits in well. And the soundtrack is superb, and again so are the ambient noises. The let downs ... Yeah the story is weird, absolutely great but weird. So you'll think about it some more. Another issue that a few sites have been harping on about is the violence. And this is true, it is intense especially your first kill. There is a lot of blood and it is ... extreme. But then again, this game is aimed at adults and it is a modern FPS, so one had to expect that. It is a little off-putting initially but as the game progresses this fades into the background because 1) you don't have as much close combat; 2) your enemies don't all bleed anymore anyway (as they aren't entirely human); and 3) it get's darker so a lot of those effects are missed. Overall, this isn't for kids and at least initially it is intense. In the same articles (on violence) some have mentioned that maybe this should not be a shooter. If you like to think along those lines, don't get the game. It is a shooter, with some RPG elements, it wouldn't be this game if it were different. That is not to say the story only works as a shooter, but ... well actually it does only work as a shooter seeing as ... it is a shooter. Your character is a shooter, and the story would not work the same if you didn't go through the character development that is established by you being in a shooter. That said there are two things that one can complain about: First, there are sections where you aren't engaged in a fight and it more or less just happens. I noticed one guard getting aggressive when I walked on an airship and figured not to engage, but minutes later I shot a guy in a building and everything erupted (and there are no stealth kills). And playing the level again, I got past a point (without shooting first) and it all still turned ugly. So it would be nice to have this a bit more consistent, or obvious why it turned into a shooting match at that stage. Secondly, the game is effectively one gigantic escort mission, but Elizabeth has no health, which to me means that she is smart enough to keep her head down (which is what you see during fights) and secondly she's not useless in that she helps and she doesn't get stuck. If you hate escort missions: this is the escort mission for you. On the other hand if you love looking after useless president's daughters (a la Resident Evil 4) this probably isn't for you. Ok, so in summary the game is fantastic and even elements that are generally bad are done well. It is aimed at an adult audience, the story is short but there is replay value (and I say that being someone that does not tend to replay) and dying is a little bit of an "it doesn't really happen". The story is deep although it is twisted and takes a while to get into (about the time it takes to get to your first kill), and although the world is organic in feel it is mostly a gigantic corridor with minimal deviation. There are some choices you make and you don't know what the effect is (which adds to the replay value and sucks you into the world). There is a lot of violence and initially the controls were a bit screwy but the first patch (less than 24 hours after release) fixed that. Some of the controls remain odd (if playing keyboard and mouse) but that doesn't get in the way in the long term. Would I recommend the game to anyone? Absolutely, but there is that warning about the violence and wanting the first patch. This is a great game and not playing it would be missing out on a key moment of FPS history. Some articles on the web have mentioned that this isn't the game that will save FPS or re-invigorate it. I agree, but sometimes doing everything right with existing conventions is just that, and that's not a detriment here.

Horrible Game--Do Not Waste Your Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was pathetic! The story was bizarre--not in a good way; the interface was archaic, reminding me of some of the very first FPS games that were made. It did not, in any way shape or form seem up to the standards set by many of today's software releases. I purchased this game based upon reviews I've read from other gamers, played it for about 1-1/2 hours, and sold it for about $2. Really feel I was taken to the cleaners on this one. You have been warned!!!

A Masterpiece!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having just beaten this game and getting the gist of what the heck just happened(after many minutes of pondering) I have to say that this is not only one of the best gaming experiences I have had this year, but of my lifetime. I assure you that this is not coming from just another fanboy. In fact, after playing the first game and loving it, I played the second one and was a little jaded by the bioshock experience as I reached the end of the game. I still loved the second one but it wasn't as impactful as my experience with the first game. I say this because when I heard a third one was being made I was skeptical since I didn't know how they could make the bioshock experience feel fresh. I thought the experience would just grow stale this time around. So, going into this game with that attitude I wasn't really planning on having my mind blown. Well, it wasn't just blown. My mind was strapped to a rocket, shot into the stratosphere and detonated. Everything about this game is just brilliant! This is an extremely well crafted game with only very minor flaws. Everything from the gameplay, music, voice acting, setting, visuals, etc. has been created with so much care and attention that it's staggering. This is especially true for the story. This is one of the best stories I have experienced. Not only does the ending redefine the beginning moments of this game, but it also adds a new layer to the franchise as a whole. It's truly amazing and something you have to experience. I get very frustrated when I read and hear that this isn't a true bioshock game. I don't understand that accusation one bit. This definitely felt like a bioshock game to me in the best ways possible. This is just a bioshock injected with fresh ideas. Ideas that created for me the same amount of awe and wonder the first bioshock did. Ideas that perfectly fit within the bioshock franchise. Explaining this would spoil the game. Experiencing how everything fits and the ending to this game are moments I won't forget.

One of the best.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot stress how amazing this game is. The story kept me engrossed almost the whole time. Superb graphics and audio, with totally lovable characters. That game was kind of easy to me. Even on harder difficulties. That may turn of certain people, but honestly it's more about the amazing story. My only other complaint was that the story does drag a little bit in the middle. I cannot stress this enough, play this game, and the ending will make you s**t your pants.

Amazing journey through the Sky
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is game that had soaring hype and expectations. In many ways this game delivers. The story is very well thought out, and replaying it will really puts things into context. The vigor and weapons system let players use ability and skill the way they want to play. Outstanding graphics and the sound is great too. If you want a longer game that will make you think about tactics and story this is it.
