    It did pick up dust fairly well and if it was rubbed into the carpet it would pick up small particles but overall it wouldn't pick up pine needles or medium length dog hair. I could feed the dog hair into the front of the vacuum and it still wouldn't suck it up. Would probably be good for cereal spills or maybe getting dust from blinds. At the end of the day it is 40 bucks so you can't expect a whole lot.
