||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item is awful. Terrible suction, super heavy, SOOOO LOUD! I exchanged it for a Shark and love my new Shark!! AND the shark was $107 cheaper!! I do like Bissell carpet cleaners but their vacuums are terrible!!! Don't buy this vacuum.

Terrible vacuum for pets
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this vacuum 2 years ago and it’s already broken. It never did a good job with the dog hair. I have 4 dogs so I need something strong. This did not do what was advertised. I would not recommend this vacuum to anyone with pets.

Gets Up More Pet Hair Than Others
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The assembly was easy and the engineers at Bissel did such a good job that as you put the unit together or take it apart the procedures are intuitive and it seems the parts kind of plug themselves back together as you position them - I like that. I did call Bissel on one point and I found their support is great, this is not a brand where you have difficulties getting help. The problem had to do with an optional filter that has built in Febreze scent and I simply had a question on its availability - they said soon and then offered me the part free - wonderful. I had vacuumed my living room with an expensive German vacuum (about 3 times the cost of this unit), and I went over the same area and wow, this vacuum pulled up more of my pet rat terrier/chihuahua’s hair. No doubt this vacuum did a better job. If you move from carpet to wood floors you can flip a switch to turn off the brush and use only vacuum power – nice. There is a knob that might confuse some, it opens the vacuum a little so that when you are in carpet you may want less vacuum or less vacuum when doing drapes, but you close it to get full vacuum for wood floors. I’ve seen the feature on other vacuums and it can be useful – for example on my basement indoor/outdoor carpet I used full power just like a wood floor, but a heavy knap you may not need the full power of the vacuum. This unit also has headlights which are getting scarce, another nice feature. You do get attachments included with this vacuum. This vacuum has an important capability in that the power unit with canister lifts off the base. Now you can clean drapes or furniture or reach up to cobwebs in the ceiling very easily. It includes a small brush to put on the end of the hose or a nozzle for tight areas – and here’s a nice first, the nozzle has an LED light and when you attach it, the LED is switched on and now you can see in those dark corners. There is also an attachment that is a little turbo brush that when you have the power unit lifted off, you can attach and it does a super great job on sofa cushions since the brush now spins to add that factor to the vacuum power. I’m kind of a vacuum nut and I have several – this one is the best. I was impressed with the quality of this unit and Bissel was not kidding when they called it the Pet Hair Eraser. It’s now my go to vacuum for all types of cleaning.

Solid Vacuum. Star Performer for Pet Hair.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only owned Shark vacuums and they have all been great but I was looking forward to trying out a model from another company. I can with full confidence say that this Bissell 2087 is a welcome addition to our home. It was no problem taking out the vacuum from the box and it was a cinch to set up. Vacuum is on the heavier side but my experience has shown me that more weighted vacuums are usually of higher quality, last longer and have superior cleaning power. Included is a Febreeze filter which is great for leaving the house smelling fresh after cleaning. As far as the cleaning itself, it does a solid job of picking up regular dirt from my tile, wood and carpeted surfaces. What really puts this model on top is how it handles pet hair. We have cats at home so their hair is all over the house including under furniture, all over the staircase, kitchen, tight spaces, etc. The Pet Hair Eraser does a wonderful job picking up all their hair without tangling up the brush roll. Emptying the dirt compartment with the pet hair is surprisingly easy. The vacuum also did a great job picking up spilled out litter and food from the mats and floors. The detachable wand has a built in LED light which is a welcome addition since I often turn on the lights to locate the dirt or pet hair better. If there are any gripes to have it is that it can be quite loud when in use and the Febreeze filters are not that cheap. Overall it is a terrific vacuum that is a beast for homes that have furry/hairy pets. As a regular vacuum it is a solid option too but you will not get the most value for your money though.

I should have bought a Dyson
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only give it two stars because this vacuum is junk. It is extremely hard to get the vacuum hose out of the holder. The vacuum does not have suction like a Dyson.

Pet Hair Beware
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really excited about the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum. I have a pet dog (Husky) that we absolutely adore, but her fur has been a source of frustration when it comes to keeping the house clean. Her fur gets everywhere and it can be difficult to remove carpet. Until today! The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is an amazing vacuum. I was able to clean the entire house, removing hair and lent from the stairs, corners and carpet without a problem. I love the design. It is sturdy and easy to maneuver, and it is light enough to carry while cleaning the stairs or other elevated areas. Easily detach the vacuum from the base with the push of a button. There are several features that I really appreciate about the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. 1. There are LEDs on the front of the unit that really make it easy to see dirt/debris under furniture or in dark areas. 2. The included attachments make it easy to clean multiple surfaces and tight spaces. 3. The surface adjustment allows you to control how the vacuum operates based on the flooring type. You can even enable or disable the bristles rotation with the push of a button. 4. The power cord is very long. I have to average length stair cases (approx. 10 stairs each) in my home. I can plug the cord in upstairs and carry the unit all the way to the bottom without putting tension on the cord. Assembly is easy. Within 5 minutes of opening the box, I was able to start using the vacuum. Just insert the handle, add the attachments, tighten one screw and you're ready to go. I would definitely recommend this vacuum.

Good Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I consider this a pretty good vacuum cleaner. I love that it comes apart for easier cleaning of specific areas. Most vacuum cleaners that can be used anywhere don't seem to have this ability. Setup was a little confusing at first but it wasn't really that hard to put together. I liked that it came with a Febreze filter and when I vacuumed my carpet I could smell it, which was nice. It is easy to empty and does well everywhere. It fits easily in my living room closet and moves pretty easily. It also has a brush that you can choose to have spinning or not, which I find helpful when doing different floor types. I used a cordless vacuum on my kitchen and living room. The things that the cordless did not pick up this vacuum did pick up. I am happy with it overall.

Horrible
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst vacuum I’ve ever had. It’s supposed to be good if you have pets, but it hardly picks up anything. The wand is useless, it won’t stayed extended when trying to use it. Big mistake purchasing this one, replaced it with a Shark.

Perfect size combine with perfect power!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My bulldog loves running around my household, I love and adore her with her funny ways. I would do anything for my best friend but she has a problem, she sheds out of this world. Leaving her hair everywhere all over my floor. My old vacuum just wasn't cutting it when picking up her hair and that's when I decided to try last years Bissell's Pet Hair Eraser. It did the job well but it needed some minor improvements that could have helped me in certain situations. Clearly I can't pick up the larger vacuum and carry it upstairs. Portability was one of the problems larger model. I'm here to report today that 2017's 2-in-1 model is much much improved while being bit smaller. This vacuum is engineered for pets that was built from the ground up really delivers on every single thing the box promised. Opening the box you are greeted with instructions of everything within the box. There are even steps to take out the vacuum easily from the box. You also have customer support information and donations information for Bissell's own pet foundation. The instructions are clearly detailed, This year model was easier to put together and faster. It took me no time to have this up and running. Design wise it looks great with hints of a blue and green throughout, giving it that "sleek" look and still showcases that its part of the pet hair eraser family. The labels are bold so you can see them. It has a swivel that hits the corners at the right angles picking up all the hair. Most of the equipment attached to the vac is out of the way and doesn't bump against your knee or arms. Right away you can see the tangle free brush roll, this is where you see most of the dirt pick up and see what pet hair twirling tangle free. This was the single most annoying thing to untangle my bulldogs clumped hair from my older vac so having this was a godsend to pet owners. Last year's of this vac model did do a great job but this one the suction is strong and sweeps up hair much faster. Even worst is removing hair from dirt tank compartment from clogs. This vacuum eliminates all of that due to the "Pet hair eraser" a system where the pet hair always remain loose and doesn't clog up the rest of the dirt tank compartment. Does it work? YES! This was also on last year model but the tank on this one is a bit wider allowing more space for the dirt to fall out. This probably the biggest improvement to the vac I've seen. No longer all of the dirt and hair is trapped. All you do is release the dirt compartment over the trash and all falls right out without even touch dirt. Honestly it also work for long male/female hair on the floor as well. The spooling system is great on this model because the tank is bigger more air and more freeflow. It just works as it should. The Lift-off vac multi-surface suction control works fantastic so no issues here. The truth that all pet owners have to go through one way or another in time...the pet smell. All pets have an certain odor and my bulldog is no exception to this rule. One intriguing and interesting thing about this vacuum is their is an Febreze deodorizer filter that eliminates pet odor. For the most part it works filling up my room with a nice, fresh, and pleasant smell killing any other odors. The filters are washable according to Bissell but I've been buying refills for the bigger brother to this vac. I love this feature and best of all its in 2-in-1! This vacuum have specialized pet tools for you to reach places that are hard to reach. I decided to try using this on a ceiling fan, steps, and behind the sofa just to try it out with pet hair. The handle releases as the tool for you to use. Also comes with a 2-in-1 pet brush that lets you pick up hair from delicate surfaces. As expected it works just fine picking up hair. I used the LED light at the edge of the tool behind the sofa and for the most part it does the trick. The LED light is much brighter on this one then on the bigger model. This vacuum could work as just a normal vac if you don't care about its features. It works just fine but you wouldn't be taking advantages of the pet features it's deigns for. If that's what you are looking for I would say try one of others cheaper Bissell vacuums and skip this one. BUT as a Pet Vacuum for you and your little friend who sheds, this thing is a monster for picking up pet hair around your house. All of this combined with the 5-Year warranty and a $10 donation to Bissell's pet foundation you could not go wrong. I would only recommend this product to anyone with a pet easily. This is a must have pet owners product.

Not a good vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited about the Pet Hair eraser feature, but this is not worth the price. It doesn’t pick up anything well, carpet or hard floor. The wand is not long enough and is cumbersome. I couldn’t wait to get rid of this vacuum.

This vacuum is horrible.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Falls over, short hose, doesn’t pick up anything over the size of dust unless you use the hose. Hair DOES get tangled in the roller. I hate it and kept trying and now I’m stuck with the stupid thing cause I’m past my return window.

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product was alright. However, it broke after justa year and I got a shark with the same features and a better vaccum head and it was 50 dollars cheaper. Do not buy Bissell.
