Customers consistently note the ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus Carpet Cleaner's excellent cleaning performance and ease of use, with many praising its effectiveness on pet hair and lightweight design. I have never used anything on carpeting besides just a vacuum. When I was a kid, I remember my parents renting a rug doctor from the supermarket every few months trying to prolong the life of way-too-old carpet because we couldn't afford new carpet. But--if you have carpet--gotta keep it clean. If you have pets, that is even harder than normal. If you have a LOT of carpeting or a LOT of pet hair, investing in a carpet cleaner that goes a little deeper than just a vacuum can probably help keep your carpet going a bit longer than if not. At least my carpet was a LOT cleaner after using this thing... Pros: It works. It does suck up dirt and dog hair much more thoroughly than the vacuum does. It helped restore the pile a bit too, even, on my matted down cheapola rental unit carpeting as well. There were a couple of crunchy dog vomit stains that were not visible, but were not "feel"-able either after running this thing over the area per the directions. So, yeah. It definitely works. Cons/neutral: It doesn't work without some work. It's not a magical fix-it button. I remember the family rug doctor rentals of my childhood because they were kinda big affairs--we would spend the day before vacuuming the heck out of the house, then the day with the rug doctor, we would spend emptying dirty liquid and filling clean, moving furniture, avoiding wet areas. Using this Bissell is not nearly such a big "event, but it takes time to go through a room slowly, making multiple passes. It takes time to refill clean water and empty dirty water. It really does take time and effort to do this right. Using a machine like this is not like making a quick pass with a vacuum cleaner. It is also more of an investment and frankly a more complex piece of machinery and after using it, I was afraid of not maintaining it properly and making sure I was cleaning it out well enough so that I would get many more uses out of it. I didn't want to dock a whole star for my own personal hang-up... but it is worth considering if this kind of appliance is something that would be useful for your household needs. If it is, then: -Yes, it works. It works pretty well! -It was a bit difficult to put together, but the directions were clear and all the pieces were accounting for. Not too bad out of the box. -Take care of it--don't put it away with liquid in it and make sure to use the included cleaning tools to clear away any clogs or pet hair that may be in the machine still after use.

We recently got a new puppy. He is just now turning 5 months old and we wanted to spot clean our carpets due to a couple of puppy "accidents" that left faint stains. When the BISSELL - ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Upright Deep Cleaner arrived, I was a little overwhelmed with the instructions to put it together. There were quite a few parts, but once I took the instructions step by step, it was not as daunting as I had thought. It is a big cleaner, which is good, but it is also heavy. My husband helped to assemble it and get it set up. We started with the express wash. There is also a deep clean option which we will try soon on a day we can have the dogs away from the house. This review is based on our experience with set-up, Express Wash and clean-up only. Once we got it assembled and filled with hot water and cleaning solution, we started on the areas with notable stains. You must first vacuum the area. I will say that it uses a powerful suction and with only a few passes the stains were less noticible. We did not use the spot sprayer, but will do so in the future (we didn't notice it until after we were done). It was easy to use, although heavy, and seemed to clean fairly well. One drawback was the little "bundles" of hair that would be left behind as we did the dry passes. We vacuumed ahead of time, but there was still a lot that came up. Showed us just how dirty our carpets really are. But, it was easy to pick up the hair balls and continue with the cleaner. The smell of the cleaning solution was pleasant and I am especially sensitive to smells. It smelled clean and fresh. After we did each area with a stain, we let it dry. Took about an hour and the carpet looked great! Again, this was just the Express Wash. I can only imagine how much better the deep clean would look. We also tried it on a spill stain in our boys' bathroom. With only a couple of passes, the stain came out. It looks great. When we were done, my husband had the honor of cleaning out the unit. This task was relatively easy. Pretty much take all the pieces out and rinse. He was surprised at just how much pet hair was in the cleaner after. The water was also a lovely shade of dark grey/brown, which is expected. Once everything is cleaned, he filled the clean water basin with hot water as instructed and ran it through the cleaner again on a section of carpet. Overall, clean up was a bit of a process, but not too difficult. If this step is skipped, I can only imagine how disgusting the cleaner would get. Again, we only did an Express Wash in a few areas. I can't imagine how dirty and entire deep clean on our house would be. Overall, this is a really good system for pet owners. It seemed to work really well and I loved the smell of the cleaning products. I would be interested in getting the hard floor attachment (sold separately) to use on our tile floors. I look forward to trying the upholstery attachment on our dining chairs and deep cleaning the entire house too. Would be a great alternative to renting a carpet cleaner.

    1) Unboxing: This is part of why I didnt give 5 stars, my box appeared to have been open and then resealed with different tape. There was also no manual in the box, not a big deal I was able to find it online but still, should have been included. 2) Assembly: Super easy!! Came in in maybe 5 or 6 pieces and only required one screw to secure the handle in the back. Everything else popped together very easily and took not even5 minutes. There was a little card attached to handle with step by step which made it even easier! 3) Quality: Very light weight and efficient. I have a dog & toddler who ruined my carpet. Just one pass did a world of difference ( better than the rentable rug doctors in my opinion). The tanks come off easily , easy to fill, and easy to dump dirty water. 4) Cons: Part of the other reason I didnt give 5 stars is because of the dirty water tank. Its large but only fills 1/3 of the way. So for every tank of clean water I used I had to empty about 3 times. I had to constantly stop to empty that thing which was annoying. I still recommend this product 100%!! It really does an amazing job, and love that it has the attachments to do furniture or whatever you wish.

Being a pet owner on a budget, I was excited to get this and all I can say is i am not sure why I waited so long. The instructions are easy to follow and anyone can do this and it takes no time at all (and when you see the dirty water that comes back in the machine) and it really works great! bissell keeps outdoing itself!! this is better and cheaper then rentals you will find at the store, or paying someone else to come do it. Dont wait. Clean your carpets today.

Packaging was very straightforward making it easy to open and locate all the parts. Instructions were clear cut and I especially enjoyed the "quick set up" instructions, it took me less than 10 minutes to open the box and assemble the appliance. The carpet cleaner was surprisingly lightweight which was welcomed as I used it downstairs, on the stairs and upstairs. Another convenient feature was the large clean water reservoir which holds up to 1 gallon of water. I really appreciate that they included 2 sample formulas, one for pet antibacterial and the other called the pet urine eliminator. I've had my carpets cleaned professionally and they always leave a not so pleasant smell in the house, the preheat 2X and the provided formulas left my house smelling clean which really impressed me. There are 2 settings 1. Deep Clean and 2. Express clean mode. The Express clean mode dried reasonably quick in about a 1.5 hours, the deep clean took only a little longer which is understandable since more fluid is used. Super EZ clean up, parts came apart easily to thoroughly clean. It even came with a really neat tool to aid in cleaning out the nozzle which worked great. It came with a 2 in 1 pet upholstery tool which is designed to remove stains and odors, this piece worked really well on our stairs and removed marker stains and chocolate milk stains. My favorite part was the clean shot pretreater which allows you to "shoot" a concentrated amount of the cleaning solution directly on a stain or spot. The long cord also impressed me, it allowed me to freely work on my stairs without the feeling confined. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend or family member.

Received this as a promotion for an honest review. I have been looking for a good rug cleaner. I have limited carpeted spaces in my apartment, but i do have a cat that tends to make my rugs dirty whether it's pet hair, pet stains, or just dirt from being tracked in from outside. I was delighted to get this product since i didn't want to shell out for a grocery store rug cleaner rental. This Bissell unit is great. It comes un-assembled in the box. Has about 4 pieces that you need to install, and 1 included screw that needs to be attached to the carrying handle. For something as simple as a rug cleaner, i must admit that the pictures and 4 "easy" setup steps had me confused for a little bit. Seems you shouldn't need instructions to set this up, but i did. Not sure if i should be ashamed or not. This Bissell unit did as advertised, and cleaned my rug as advertised, removing dirt and making my rugs look almost new! It comes with a hand tool, which i did not use. It comes in a separate carrying bag. I am a little disappointed that the tube for the hand tool, was not somehow incorporated into the actual unit itself, in order to be stored together, instead of a separate bag you have to account for. I do like all the options this unit has. The cleaner itself has an "express" clean, as well as a "deep" clean feature. I used the express clean. The hand tools have a "dry" option so you can use it to vacuum up all the pet hair on your carpet before you clean them. Very useful. I am very satisfied with this unit. Im not sure how many times a year i would use this, even if i had a full wall to wall carpeted house. But the price point is fully justified with all the available options this unit has for the buyer.

I use to clean my basement carpet and it works wonders. I have somewhat shag carpet combined with a shedding dog and I was able to make carpet look professionally done. My basement is pretty big so it takes me at least 2 or 3 trips depending on carpet refiling tanks of water. The only CON is assembly. I was expecting two parts but there were at least 4. It took me more time than wanted to assemble but the size makes it very easy to store and use.

I was very impressed by the power of this product. I don't have pets, but the added luxuries of the product lured me to it. The pedal activated pre-treat solution is easy to manage those "seen on the spot" stains. I don't have to stop, get down on my knees and treat it. It's lightweight, easy to clean and the accessories are efficient. Although I seem to lose a little suction when using the hose and brush, I'm still comfortable using it in the future. I don't recommend this product to be used on a thick shag carpet, only low and normal height. While it does still get the carpet clean, it takes a longer time to get the floors done. By that observation, I conclude that if you have a pet that sheds long thick hair, be wary that it has the potential of clogging of the brush and hose accessories thus reducing suction.

    Bissell cleaner

Overall really good cleaner does suck up hair but gets stuck through the base. Best to clean machine after every use and make sure to only add enough cleaner solution for that given time of use. As you want to mix with hot water and not have it cold when sucking up. I would love to see the power button moved up on the machine compared to where it is on the side doesn’t make sense. The extra spray out is nice but I would like to see that be a wider range on the top. I would be happy to explain to Bissell if they contact me. I would say this machine was really good to me as I have 2 dogs and has really helped!! FYI though it did not really heat unless it was just mine.

First off this is not a light item. wife had a hard time getting the box in the house (her idea, not mine). So with that being said it is a very well built vacuum/cleaner. I don't have much of a problem using it as I am use to the slight pull most higher end cleaners have. But if you are not ready it will kinda get away from you. Filling the chem bottle can be tricky and if not careful you might spill some, but once it is in, you are good to go. I attempted to clean the hallway carpet with this and I will say it did a great job. Some stains and such will require a few treatments, but it did get alot of dirt that I did not think what there in the first place. I have owned other cleaners before but never a pet version. I will admit I was not sure how well it would work on my dogs little messes, however it did not require much effort to work its magic on the affected areas. Vacuum, saturate, set, and extract moisture, this was easy and very clean in the end. I would get this for anyone in my family that needs a good deep cleaning and has pet allergies since it will remove the "odor" that might linger after the surface cleaning is done with more pet accidents. Truly a wonder and godsend of cleaning and freshening up my whole house.

Pros - Light weight and easy to maneuver - intuitive design makes it easy to use and nice design. Cons - very low suction and seems to clog up after one use. No horsepower listed on the box and was told it was very powerful by a sales person. The story - I went to Best Buy to purchase the Hoover SteamVac F7452-900 All Terrain Steam Cleaner with SpinScrub which is advertised being at the store. I have had the Hoover model for over 5 years and it has been an incredible workhorse typically using it twice a week. Strong suction and allowed for quick drying over large areas. We moved from a 6-bedroom home of 3,300 square feet to a 1,000 foot two bedroom two bath apartment. Didn't think I would need all the power of the Hoover but with two small dogs, well, they sometimes miss the puppy pads. I'm hoping I will be able to return the new Bissell for a Hoover. BEST BUY - this is not a fault of Best Buy - they are a great store that carries quality items - unfortunately I didn't do the homework needed to evaluate this product adequately - I should have waited for the Hoover that I wanted...

Very easy assembly. Machine is a bit bulky and heavy. Quite loud. Comes with a hose and attachments but there is no place to attach them to the machine. They will undoubtedly get lost in our house. Cleaned a few small spots on our carpet to test unit. Did ok. The directions say to go over spots 2 times, 1 forward 1 back, but I found it took several slow passes to clean spots and extract the water. Emptying dirty unit is very easy. Think a unit with rotating heads would clean better, but this is a pretty good unit.

Overall, a well-designed cleaning machine - the head is designed in such a way that the brushes come very close to the front and side edges, helping to get better access to areas under furniture or close to the wall. The brush design also helps to lift carpet pile and does a better job of cleaning deep into rugs than my other vacuum. The wet cleaning functions work well, and - importantly - the unit doesn't leak water onto your floor when you're not actually engaged in wet cleaning.
