Customers value the SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop's ease of use and cleaning performance, frequently praising its lightweight design and cordless convenience. However, some users express concerns regarding the battery life and the durability of the cleaning pads. A few also mention that the motor could be more powerful for thorough cleaning on all floor types. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and cleaning outweighs the negative comments on other features.

    Nice Clean Floors Again!

As a single guy who rarely has anyone over, I tend to not bother with things like cleaning the floors. Yes, I let my Shark Robot Vacuum run around every week and pick up the dust but I tend to forget to mop the floors. You know it's time to mop when you bounce a ball on the floor and it sticks. Well it wasn't quite that bad but it did have some sticky spots. I always found it a pain to fill a bucket with water, add some cleaning solution to it and drag it around the rooms trying not to bump into it while mopping. This Bissell SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop made the job easy and the floors are nice and clean again. The mop is easy to maneuver, it turns on a dime and is pretty light weight. The spray bottle pulls out for filling and the lines on the bottle made it easy to add the right amount of cleaning fluid to the water. The mop comes with 2 sets of cleaning pads, soft touch pads for light mopping and scrubby pads for seriously sticky floors. It also came with two 8 ounce bottles of multi surface cleaning solution. It came with a storage tray for storing the mop and the tray helps you re-align the pads after you've removed the dirty pads and washed and dried them.Of course it also came with a power adapter to charge the mop. The blue indicators on the front of the mop let you know how much charge is left. Charging takes 4 hours for a full charge. The only problem I found is due to the size of the cleaning heads, I couldn't get it between my tub and my toilet. If it were slightly smaller, it would have fit, but it wasn't that big a deal. Knowing how easy it is now to clean my floors, I will probably have clean floors way more often.

Just as Good as Manual but Much Easier

The Bissell SpinWave comes with a manual but it is so intuitive that you can probably just ignore it. The indicators for the cleaning solution included in the package certainly helps too. Spraying the cleaning solution is simple. To start, let me tell you that mopping floor is probably the worst thing I have to do inside my house every week. It’s a tedious job and I’m always looking for something to make it easier. This mop is very lightweight and the spinning process makes it almost effortless to mop my wood floor, since it moves the Bissell SpinWave forward. The fact that it is cordless is probably the coolest feature for me since I hate wires entangling while I work. Full battery charge is good for about 20 minutes but that’s enough to finish the first floor of my house. The pads can be cleaned in the washing machine. I was very satisfied with the results. It cleaned the floors much better than I could manually. It also cleaned better than my automated robot mop although that one should be used only as a quick in-between after a real mopping job, which this Bissell can do very well. The scrubby pad was great in areas such as the kitchen where the floor is tiles and the soft ones were perfect on the hardwood floors. I did find one thing that could be better designed: the stand. It should not be used if the pads are wet because it spills. Still, this is first mop that I gladly have nice things to say about. Better than this is when they come up with a totally automated one, similar to the robot I have but that can perform as well as this Bissel SpinWave. For now, this one is hard to beat.

The pads were on the machine out of the box. The mop had to be charged before using. THe mop is very lightweight and easy to maneuver. THe mop is very quiet and you can easily hear a phone call while using the mop. If there is any debris on the floor, like dried leaves that were tracked inside, they will be pushed away. The machine does not pick up debris. The machine does easily fit under kitchen or bath cabinets to clean the floor. The cleaning solution is a pleasant smell. If you have trouble pushing a mop, then this is a much easier way to mop the floor as it requires very little strength. The solution and water are easy to fill in the machine. The instructions say remove the wet pads before storing the mop, so these have to be removed and washed after cleaning. The mop has a nice black tray to sit on when not in use. The pads attach via velcro and are easy to remove or replace. The cleaning solution must be emptied after each use. There are two levels of water/solution that are labeled on the clean water reservoir so it is easy to adjust how much cleaning solution and water to add to meet the size of the area you plan to mop. The only negative is that you would have to dust mop before or after mopping to pick up any grit or debris.

Want the Kids to Mop? Problem Solved!

If I handed my kids a mop & bucket I'd end up with 1) Two complaining kids, 2) A flooded kitchen. Put this thing in their hands and there is excitement to use. Just don't tell them they're mopping. #CleaningToys The SpinWave features 2 good-sized pads that spin to do a good job of cleaning tile and wood floors. This isn't for cleaning up a spill like a mop would be, of course, but more than replaces a standard mop for cleaning jobs. Two sets of pads are included, one a "scrubby" pad for deep dirt, and works GREAT on textured tile floors, and the other a flat pad for more standard cleaning or polishing. Pads can easily be washed in the washer when dirty, not only allowing them to be reused, but also avoiding the nastiness of string or sponge mops. The SpinWave includes a removable water bottle with clearly-marked lines for mixing cleaning fluid and water (2 lines -- 1 for "small jobs" and 1 for "large jobs"). The device is cordless, and quickly recharges with the included AC adapter. When not in use, the SpinWave includes a plastic base to keep your pads from just sitting on the floor. But as mentioned, the kids will love using this to help clean up. Certainly not what Bissell probably wants to use as a primary marketing tactic, but you can't discount being able to use something to get the kids to help.

Very easy to set up. Out of the box, all you have to do is attach the handle and put it on the charger for 4 hours, then ready to use. I like that they included 2 sample bottles of the multi purpose cleaner. Each bottle will clean your "large" size floors twice. The pads are easy to put on or take off. They attach with velcro. They are very absorbant. I mopped my large ceramic floor with one set of pads and they still could have held more. When it is turned on you can move the cleaner across your floors with ease. As to the battery, it seems to last a while. I fully charged my unit, kept it continuously running for 15 minutes and still had at least half of the charge left. Cleaning: I used this on ceramic floors with grout. For the tile part, the mop did an excellent job of cleaning. However, since the pads are terrycloth, it didn't do much for getting in the grout. I do not have wood floor to test it, but I am sure it would work great on smooth surfaces such as wood or concrete. I like the fact that the pads extend past the cleaner just a little bit so that it cleans all the way to the edges of the floor. Overall, I would say this is excellent for floors with a smooth surface. For grouted tile, it is great for a quick mop but occasionally you will still need to use something else to clean the grout.

No cord to trip over, lightweight power

BISSELL's SpinWave truly is convenient. I works as well as its corded model. The obvious difference is it needs to be charged and then runs about 45-minutes. But that aside it is super easy to maneuver, gently but quickly spinning up to speed. The on/off button is nicely placed just below the spray button on the top of the handle/stalk. The caring handle could be a bit wider for my large hands, but it is light and balanced to carry, with no cord! The fill bottle comes with fill marking, first add the water then top it with soap. One can fill to either the small or large room marks. The smaller cleaned two (2) upstairs bathrooms, a first floor powder room and 12' x 10' kitchen. The cordless was easy to carry up and down the stairs. Activating the sprayer button produces a short beep so you know you are spraying and then faintly hear the pump motor which produces a wide path spray in front of the rotating mops. Dried floor stain, once sprayed are no match for the constantly rotating pads. I was happily surprised how well the mop heads removed and then help the soil.

This is a pretty good product. It reminds me of a floor waxer with two spinning pads. I like that I can squirt a little or a lot of cleaner making it so the floor drys quick if it's not really dirty. It's easy to maneuver and not too heavy. It comes with a tray to store it in so the wet pads aren't sitting on the floor. This seems best if you have a large area. I had issues with small areas because the pads are so big. Like using it in a bathroom is hard to get around the toilet and such. Also there's no way to get into corners. I wish the battery lasted longer as well. You get 20 min out of a 4 hour charge. I did 4 small areas that didn't use up all the "small area" cleaner amount and I was down to less than 33% of battery. I'm not sure how you make the battery last for a big area. The scrubbing pads make quick work of spots on the floor that a mop would require some pressure to get off.

Works Great But Has One Issue

Overall the Bissell SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop works great. It cleans my wooden and tile floors very well. It is extremely easy to use and glides easily across the floor. The battery life runs for about 20 to 25 minutes which is fine to clean a large area. The powered mop is a great and easy way to keep your floors clean. The one issue I have with the device is that the spraying mechanism drips after spraying. You press a button to dispense solution on the floor and then use the powered mop to clean. What I have noticed is that after dispensing solution, additional liquid will drip from the spray nozzle onto the floor. If you don't notice the drip, you will end up with a small puddle on your floor. It is easy enough to run the mop over the drip to mop it up, but it seems that the nozzle drips quite a bit making it a pain to have to constantly mop up.

Easy to use. Works well for my industrial laminate flooring as long as I don't oversaturate while using I won't have streaks. I was debating on getting the Crosswave but did not want to take it apart to clean and dry after every use so I decided on this. I can't use the cleaner it comes with because it leaves a film on my floor so I just use i vinigar and water.

Right out of the box this did not require any assembly. You just slip the handle into the base unit and you are ready to go. I really like the convenience of a cordless spin mop with the built-in cleaning fluid. I tried it out right away on hardwoods and it worked great there (I could also see using a floor polish with this unit on the hardwoods). It also worked well on the kitchen tile, even getting some difficult food splatters off the floor. Like any cleaner with a cleaning pad, once the pads get a bit dirty, you start to push a bit of film around the floors. I chose to use the spare pads to make a final pass over the floor to account for this. I really like this one...

The Bissell SpinWave is a mop that has robust features. Firstly, the mop comes ready to use. There isn’t anything to put together. All one needs to do is add cleaning fluids and you’re good to go! I used the mop in my kitchen which has linoleum and it did a thorough cleaning job. The pads are very thick in which they do a great job of picking up dirt particles without leaving evidence of films on the floor. Also, I used the mop on my hard wood floors and again, it did a thorough cleaning job. The mop only gives 20 minutes of cleaning time, which I was able to get everything in. I did feel a little rushed as I was worried about possibly re-charging. I commend Bissell on manufacturing great products at affordable costs. This is my 3rd product of theirs and I can honestly say that all 3 have been very reliable with consistent robust results!

A couple things I noticed right out of the box is how light this machine is and how simple it is to assemble. Click the handle into the base and it's ready to go. I charged it up and was ready to go. What's included will get you started pretty quickly. Two small bottles of multipurpose cleaning solution and two sets of pads; one for standard cleaning and one for scrubbing. I started with cleaning a time floor and this made short order of the work. An occasional press of the solution button and I was off to the races. The floor dried very quickly and did not have that sticky feeling that some cleaners do on tile. Next up was a wood floor. Again, the rotating brushes made cleaning the floor almost a non task. Same results as with the tile, no sticky residue and a clean and polished floor. And amazingly, the battery was still fully charged!

    Beats a swiffer

If you're used to getting old the old fashioned mop and bucket or a swiffer this might be the mop for you. This one makes cleaning up your hardwoods quick and easy. In some ways it reminds me of the old floor buffer your school janitor used...only not quite as big. I can't really speak for any big sticky, dirty messes, but I used this a couple times now on everyday cleaning of oak floors and it seems to do a pretty good job. It goes really quickly not having to deal with a mop/bucket, and even better than a swiffer I don't need to wear myself out pacing the floor back and forth and changing out dirty pads. This thing pretty much does all the work for you once you turn it on. If you're looking for a quick clean and shine and don't want to hassle with a swiffer and changing out pads and whatnot, this may be the device for you.

I really like this floor cleaner. First of all, it keeps me from pushing a mop around the floor. I simply attach the two pads to the bottom. Place cleaner and water in the bottle, and turn it on. It does the rest of the work. The two pads on the bottom spin and clean much like a floor buffer. The unit has a rechargeable battery and works for approximately 20 minutes before needing to be charged again. I only wish it came with a removable battery to make battery replacement easier and charging easier. You have to have the entire unit by a plug to charge it. All in all, it did a great job cleaning my floors!

I got this Bissell powered mop to clean my wooden floors. To begin with, putting it together out of the box is very easy. If you can't figure something out the directions are very good. Initially you do have to charge it for 4 hours. Once it was charged I used the powered mop on my wooden floors. It comes with 2 bottles of cleaning solution that you add to the water tank. The Bissell did a great job on my wooden floors, it was able to remove some particles from my floors that I believe the machine wasn't going to be able to. I was impressed with the power that it has. The only downside to this mop is that the charge only lasts 20 minutes or so. It is very easy to maneuver around the floors. I would highly recommend this Bissell powered mop if you are looking to easily and quickly clean your wooden floors.

    A Great Powered Mop…with a few "problems"

    |
    Tech Insider Network Member
    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Normally, when I write a review, they tend to be fairly lengthy, and extremely informative…of course, they also tend to be for serious tech products (TV, router, laptop, smart home products, etc). a powered mop isn’t very “technical”, thus I don’t feel it needs a lengthy, overly-informative, review. That being said, the Bissell SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop is still a great product, and one worth considering…once you get over the $150 price. Before I mention anything “bad”, I should start with its good points. With the included pads (one pair of standard, called “Soft Touch”; one pair of scrubbing, called “Scrubby”, it does a very good job. If there’s anything that requires excessive scrubbing, not even the “scrubbing” pads will do the perfect job, but it still does a far better job than I expected it to do. Bissell claims a “20 minute” battery life…in real-world use, I got slightly less than that (approximately 17 minutes), but I was more than happy with it lasting that long. The included Bissell Multi-Surface Formula liquid does more than an adequate job, although Bissell does offer more floor-specific cleaning liquids for the SpinWave (Multi-Surface Pet with Febreze, and Wood Floor Formula) for those with a “greater” need. As mentioned, above, there are some “bad” points. First, and foremost, is the price. $150 is a LOT to spend on a mop. Heck, even the corded version, at $100, is too much. Bissell would have been better off pricing the cordless version at $100, and the corded version around $60-70. So, before even considering the cordless version, one must ask themselves if they really NEED a powered cordless mop, and especially one costing as much as this does. Second, based on several long-term reviews I’ve read, there is a random problem of the spinning parts being “problematic”…and, by “problematic”, I’m attempting to put it nicely, without bad-mouthing Bissell. This is NOT to say that, if you purchase the SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop, you’ll end up having problems…it’s only to inform of the possibility. Thankfully, Bissell includes a 2-year warranty (in this era, most companies only include a 6-month, or 1-year, warranty), so, if you do run into any serious problems, Bissell has you covered. There’s also the cost of replacement items, as well as accessories. Bottles of the cleaning liquids run $11 each, for a 32oz bottle (you can purchase a 3-pack of the standard Multi-Surface cleaner for $30, saving $3, but that’s not really much of a savings). Then there’s the replacement pads, which are $13 for a 2-pack of standard “Soft” pads, $15 for a 2-pack of “Scrubby” pads, and $20 for a 4-pack of the “Mop Pads”. In the long-run, using the SpinWave could become considerably more costly than your typical mopping solutions. So, would I recommend this to others? The answer, unfortunately, is somewhat complicated. If you look ONLY at the product, itself, and what it does, completely ignoring the minor problem, as well as the overly-high cost (not just the initial purchase price, but also the cost of replacement/accessory items), then the answer would, hands down, be “yes”. However, when one considers the purchase price, as well as the cost of replacement/accessory items, then I might be inclined to say “no”. it is for this reason that I only gave the Bissell SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop a 4-star rating (in truth, I was leaning towards a 3-star rating, but decided I wouldn’t hold the star against the price). Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or somewhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review. For the purpose of this review, in regards to the "I would recommend this to a friend", I answered 'Yes", but my honest answer is described, and explained, above.

I have other Bissel products that I love and I though this would make my life easier. Nope. Here is the good stuff: It’s light and super easy to use. No cumbersome putting together and the liquid container is easy to fill up and replace. It’s quiet and looks good. Thats said, the cleaning power is just not there. Also, why does the battery last 15 minutes? Why does it take a whole hour (minimum) to recharge it? It has 3 light indicators showing the remaining power, but every time a level goes down, the machine clearly slows down too. By the time you get to the last power bar, it’s really dragging. I do not recommend, unless you leave in a tiny house. I will definitely try to return it because this is just not good enough.

I went into this test with trepidation - a battery-powered device with spinning pads and how could something so lightweight clean effectively. I came away very surprised after a week of testing and ownership. This device is so simple to use - charge it up before first use - following directions on mixing cleaning solution - and then clean. What I discovered was that even my "clean" house needed several passes (over several days) to bring my floor to a high level of clean and feel. One use is not going to clean as well as you'd like - it is much like using a robot vacuum - first and second uses will leave you wondering why you paid what you did for the device. The key with this device (and the robot cleaner reference I used), is to live with it and to use it regularly. This device saves time and will leave you WANTING to clean floors. With each use the floor leaves less brown nastiness on the pads and you will start getting the floor to just be a proper clean. Then you can just do weekly or more as you like to maintain (instead of spreading dirt from one place to another). I highly recommend this to people who are busy and/or who hate to do floors. It holds a charge and just makes doing floors nearly effortless. Cleanup of the pads is easy per the instructions and I even found hand washing with laundry detergent and hanging to dry works as well. Two sets of two pads are provided - a "scrubby" one which I used from the outset and a softer one that I now use to maintain the clean which I've achieved.
