Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the SpotBot Pet Portable Deep Cleaner's excellent cleaning performance and ease of use, finding it convenient and easy to handle due to its compact size and lightweight design. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the durability of the hose and the noise level during operation. While generally positive, these issues should be considered.

I bought my 2nd one in 6 months thinking my previous one was a lemon. My old Bissell SpotBot, lasted 6 years. Both new ones that I bought broke within weeks. They clean nothing, can’t retain the dirty water and the “warranty” was a joke.

I purchased this because we have hair ball issues with the cats.. this cleaner worked great for a year then started leaking from the bottom. If you purchase go ahead and buy the additional warranty.

Returned it to the store, I was disappointed the deep clean carpet bristles didn't get into carpet just brushed the top. Makes a great full size cleaner prep but my full-size works better

    saved my wifes dog

My wife brought a dog home from a rescue. We found out that the dog was not house trained. We now have tan and yellow spotted carpet after 2 weeks. I bought this to see how well it would work. We do have a Brissell stand up model and it was not doing the trick. Let this unit go for 6 min all on its own and the stain is gone. It cleans a 6 1/2 spot at a time.

Must have for pets and children quick clean up

How much simplier could it get? You add warm water and cleaner, plug the unit in, select your setting and walk away. I had a friend refer this item to me after I complained about lugging my shampooer out every morning while we are house training our dog. If you have children or pets this is a must have item for quick pick ups to prevent set in stains. The deep clean selection does get pet soil smells out. It also reduces the frustration you can get from those spills because you know you can quickly clean them up. Highly suggest you consider this item!

This unit does an amazing job on Pet stains from the little accident to a complete mess. Literally wore out our first unit on a new puppy and an aging feline. Just fill 'er up, turn it on and it does the rest. Great to not have to sit and scrub for ever, just let the spotbot do the work for you!

Not Perfect but Way Better Than Doing It Manually

I read the reviews before purchasing and was a bit concerned about some of the comments I saw, i.e. it makes one round clean spot that more noticeable than the stain, it creates a tuft of carpet fiber in the center of the circle, going through the cleaner solution quickly, and reports of some leaks. The reason I purchased anyway was because of another review that said that she could deal with any minor issues if it meant she didn't have to clean the carpet manually. I was sold. And I agree... The value you get in this is not having to go through the whole blot, spray, blot thing that takes forever (not to mention a TON of paper towel). All of the comments at put at the top from other reviews? Yep, I experienced the same things (except about one round clean spot - it's noticeable until it dries and once you vaccuum the area as per normal, it's completely gone). But my cat went through some major GI issues that resulted in regular vomitting from January until end of April. That's a LOT of blot, blot, blot, spray... etc. Plus that method isn't always completely effective. Being able to put this thing on the area to take care of it for me is competely worth the price in my mind. So you have to buy cleaner. So there are a few drips once in a while when you pick it up. So the spot takes a while to dry. At least it's clean (thoroughly) and I didn't have to do it. ***As another reviewer stated, definitely use the manual hose attachment to suck up more of the liquid once the SpotBot does it's thing. It dramatically shortens the drying time***

I would like to address a few of the comments in reviews . I have had 2 of these and am on my third as it is used so often and works so AWESOME! First off. when you have a urine accident you need to use paper towels to absorb majority of the urine. Just press paper towels about 6-8 thick down and let Bounty do the work. Then put spot bot on it. Same with puke. Clean up the mess then use machine. On the topic of plush carpet and crop circles. Plush carpet may be a tad extra wet. As my carpet is extremely plush and thick I am aware. However, all I do is again a few paper towels after wards and presto, no biggie. Crop circles. Yes it will make a circle. but don't keep the circle. Use foot with shoe on or hand and "vacuum " the mark. move foot or hand over circle so that carpet goes back in to the line formation like when you vacuum. and presto crop circle gone and wont leave a drying circle either. On the bleaching effect. Lets just say you need to wash your carpets. We all have to wash carpets periodically if you have pets, or kids. I have oatmeal colored carpets and 3- 100 pound dogs in a smaller house. We use spot bot a good bit as we almost always have a baby puppy or a senior dog. Accidents will happen. When the oxy clean is getting spot cleaner than the whole we clean the whole carpet. Maybe 2-3 times a year, on average. Upright cleaners. BEST IS RUG DOCTOR professional . We have gone thru many and this one is by far the best. Buy it or rent it at your grocery or lumber store. Hope this helps other people as the machine is great at its job you jsut have to do your part too.

    Good for Spots

It does do a good job on spots. For the best results you do need to soak up extra liquid before you put the spot bot on it. It is also a good idea to vacuum up the excess water left by the SpotBot to decrease drying time. The construction quality is quite good. It does use a lot of cleaning chemicals. We only got 3 uses out of the samples that came in the box. From time to time I almost would rather have a full carpet cleaner, but if your just dealing with spots this is one of the best units out there.

It does a great job of cleaning new and set-in stains on carpet. Ive found that using a powder oxy cleaning solution does the job. No need to buy the expensive liquids recommended. Only problem is that you WILL need to use hose attachment after running program to remove all the liquid from carpet.

Works Great!!!, we use it at least once every day and does a wonderful job of picking up pet stains on all kinds of carpet including light carpet. Because of the rotating brush it will leave a small twisted pulled fiber string in the center of the cleaning area for some carpet types but is easely removed. I would recomend this to anyone with pets. Best feature is the turn on and walk away, it tones you when its done.

I'd rather just buy an upright...

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Let's just go over all of the categories Best Buy gives you for rating a product. Value for Price: This thing is only $50 cheaper than the standard upright, yet the upright will do your whole house. This products touts being a "set it and forget it" type of device, but that isn't so (more on that a little later). It does come packaged with enough cleaner to do a dozen or so (maybe more) spots, so you are ready to go out of the box. Quality: Strong thick plastics. Doesn't feel cheap at all. Brush heads are actually really nice and adapt to the height of your carpet. I suspect this product will last a long time. No problems here. Features: I can;t really think of a feature it's lacking. You can "set it and forget it" (again, not really), or you can use the hose. Super easy to fill (there is a water fill line followed by a cleaner fill line) as well as a maximum line for waste water. Both containers are spill proof so you don't have to worry about getting water everywhere. Performance: This is where this product failed me. If you have relatively plush carpets, there is no way in hell the "set it and forget it" feature is going to work for you. Sure it will get the stain up, but it just leaves far too much water behind, to the point that if you step there, you feel the water sloshing up through the carpet. The solution we came up with is that you have to use the attachment suction. This works wonderfully, except for the fact that we didn't buy this product to have to get on our hands and knees to clean it. Isn't the point of this thing to take the work out of cleaning the mess up? Bottom line is, if you are torn between this and an upright, just get the upright. You will be able to do your entire home. We are currently renting, so we get a free professional carpet shampooing yearly. We just needed a product to clean up the occasional pet vomit. This product is compact, so with the limited space we have an upright wouldn't work. When we buy a house I will definitely invest in an upright over this item. Would I recommend to a friend? I guess it depends on the circumstances, as I mentioned above. For the sake of this review I will say "yes".

good for its' designed purpose--"spot cleaning".

Just remember what you bought it for and don't try to take on large jobs that require a full-sized carpet cleaner. The unit is a little noisy but then, that lets you know it is working properly and going through its' designed cycles. You get two 6" round cleaning cycles for each filling of the machine. (Both water and cleaning solution.) Each heavy duty cleaning cycle takes 6 minutes to complete its' function, (without any help from you), and you should probably allow 24 hours for the cleaned carpet to totally dry @ room temperature. For what it does, it's a little pricey--but effective.
