Possibly the best modern warfare movie to date. The Blu-Ray format delivers a movie theatre experience. If you also have surround sound, you will have one great time. This is one of the few movies I can watch over and over and if you haven't seen it by now, don't let another day go by without buying it.

This has got to be the greatest war movie I've seen in my life. It shows what can actually happen in war and how it all happens. The cool part is that it actually happened and that just makes it even better than it already is. Don't rent it just go out and buy it, trust me you'll love this movie.

Wonderfully filmed and acted this is a great action/shooter movie, from the american side. But it doesn't answer, nor even ask why, are the Somalians acting the way they are. What are their motivations, etc.

Black Hawk Down is one of the best war movies I have ever had the pleasure of watching. This forgotten, or less known, story of the American raid of Somalia in 1993 is finally brought to light in this movie. There is a bunch of action (maybe too much for those who aren't big fans of war movies), a good storyline, and good actors to go along with it. I own this movie on bluray and the quality and sound are fantastic - and so are the extra features. If you love war movies, you are sure to love this one.

Not a bad upgrade from the blu-ray. Sound is fine and picture quality is crisp but you will get grain.

This is a great war movie directed by Ridley Scott. It is definitely one of the best war movies I have seen. Furthermore, it is based on a true story. Probably not a good movie for small kids because of the heavy amount of realism involved though.

I rented this movie when it came out and thought it was great. Then I bought this movie for my PS3 and let me tell this movie is even better on blue-ray. It is way sharper and has alot more quality that I would of thought this movie is Bad***...

this is one of my favorite movies not to mention probably the best war movie out there. they set the story up for about 25 minutes then the fighting doesn't stop. although kids 13 and under probably shouldn't watch it. It's pretty realistic.

this is number 2 on the best war movies ever made. from the start of this movie they launch you right into the front lines of the us battle they raged. must watch

Great movie that does an excellent job of portraying the true events. This blu-ray is an excellent disc to show of your home theater capabilities, especially the sound!

I once owned this in another format, and was looking forward to a massive upgrade. The visual quality on this UHD was quite high. Detail was stunning in spots. Colors were exceptional. The visuals alone speak to the promise of the UHD format on deep catalogue releases. There was a question of black crush in spots; optimal viewing might require bumping brightness 3-5 notches. Assuming of course that your copy works. Mine had multiple audio dropouts. The last resulted in no sound from that point onward. Known working setup, all other UHDs play in optimal fashion. I was expected a battle on the return. But the manager cited that a recall was in progress anyway, so I got my funds back. If ordering from NYC Best Buys, be careful. Perhaps overseas copies fare better.

The blu-ray edition of this movie blew me away. The video and audio are absolutely breathtaking. This is the ideal way to experience this cinematic gem!

I've seen this movie on TV alot. When I got it on blu-ray, it was amazing! The new visuals are so amazing. You feel like you're there! I loved every minute of this movie.

Directed by Ridley Scott. True story of the Rangers and Delta Force in Somalia. The movie is full of action from start to finish. It is one of the best War Movie ever!!!

This was one of the early Blu-Ray releases. Since then, optimizations to visual quality have been made (new codecs and such) to newer Blu-Ray titles. The Dark Knight is one of the more eye popping Blu-Ray's I own that I feel justifies owning a Blu-Ray player. Black Hawk Down on the other hand, is not. There's too much yellow shine in many of the scenes and film grain is literally everywhere on the screen for the entirety of the movie. Compared to the DVD version (which my dad owns), I honestly prefer it over the Blu-Ray version (and I only paid $4 for this on clearance). That being said, the sound quality is excellent and would be one of the few redeeming qualities of this version (though the DVD wasn't too far behind).

This movie is a must buy especially if you have a good sound system. The plot is good and the acting is great. Highly recommended.
