————————————Pros————————————— Movie: Great action war movie that was nowhere near the experience of this new version compare to when I watched it in the theater when it came out. Picture: Always a great picture on an OLED panel & because it’s an older movie I had to switch to my other custom HDR setting to avoid grain. Audio: Atmos was impressive & was a reference demo material. Played on an Oppo through a 11.2 (7.2.4). There was life like moments for example, when helicopter scenes where projected on screen above you, the height ceiling channels activated giving you a realistic atmosphere. There were some 360 surround & some front and back panning that gives you that immersive sound we look for. Digital Copy: Yes Steel case: Yes. ————————————Cons———————————— Price: Too high considering it’s an old title.

Sony is continuing it's great run of catalog films in 4K. Black Hawk Down looks and sounds amazing and is an upgrade from the already amazing blu-ray. The steelbook is a disappoint though. The front is the same as regular 4K cover and the back the shot of Josh Hartnett from the previous blu-ray release along with no interior artwork. It's not terrible just nothing special. Whether you purchase the regular 4K edition or the steelbook this is a release well worth buying.
