Great final voyage for this visionary music artist

Blackstar is one of David Bowie's best recordings ever released! Overall, it has a jazzy, atmospheric and minimalist feel with good grooves sprinkled throughout. The tracks Blackstar and Lazarus are probably the most accessible of the bunch, but I really like Tis a Pity She Was a Wh0re, Dollar Days and I Can't Give Everything Away where the musicians are let loose to improvise freely. Bowie was clearly extremely generous with the musicians he worked with, by letting them express themselves and not dictating every note they played. True genius.

I had to buy the latest Bowie album if nothing else in the man's honor. Unfortunately I didn't like it as much as I wanted to but it still delivers in ways only bowie can. Depressing stuff, but very unique and original.

I heard such great things about Bowie's last album and, having always been a fan, I had high hopes. Sadly, they were not met. It is not a bad album but not as groundbreaking or revolutionary as I had hoped.

The man was a genius to the very end! I love this album so much! The last track "I can't Give Everything Away" is such a bittersweet final track of this final album I still get choked up listening to it. This CD was probably his strongest one since his Tin Machine era or Scary Monsters in my opinion. My all time favorite Bowie song though and may be the greatest song ever written in my opinion is "Life On Mars" but this album is truly solid! RIP Ziggy Stardust!
