Easy to use but now they won’t connect to my WiFi.

Too easy to spot and picture quality and sound are not great. Not easy to use through the phone to set up. Instructions are confusing

The camera worked fine but the Blink potion, storage, and connect to Amazon were a nightmare. Never again!

Camera quality is kind of bad. Blink subscription is overpriced.

This is a nice size small, good looking camera. Can’t believe it can be use inside or outdoors being so small but it works. It was simple to install it. This is my first Blink camera so I had to download the app, from there it only took a few minutes until I could start using the camera. It comes with the camera, screws to mount the camera, the usb cable and surprisingly the wall block is also included. That hasn’t been the case for many items I’ve purchase lately, they haven’t come with the wall block. The camera is very flexible in that it can rotate it many directions on the stand. The picture is nice and clear. The night vision works even in complete darkness. But I also like the spotlight option. I tried to use this inside one of my windows facing the porch and it was able to pick up movements on the porch. It also has the option of having the spotlight on, having it come on when it senses motion or turn it off. There is also a blue status LED light that originally stayed on, it took me a few minutes to find out that I can set it to turn off, stay on always or for it to turn on when it’s recording. The app comes with most features I would expect. It comes with a free trial subscription for 30 days. I’m still trying to understand the features that we can use with and without the subscription. To my understanding, once the trial is over, if I cancel the subscription I won’t have person detection and I won’t have recording of events. Or the other option is for me to purchase a blink sync module where I can put usb so it can record and I can watch videos recording of events. So it seems that I can only watch videos in realtime if I don’t keep paying for the subscription or purchase the module. For this reason, I will probably look at other cameras where I can watch recording events even if it’s for a short time without paying extra for my next camera purchase. To me, I feel as a busy working person, what are the chances that I will watch the live feed at just the right time. It doesn’t make sense to me that I have to pay for any recorded events. It’s possible that I’m not understand this correctly but I looked at the Blink info over and over. The subscription fee is pretty reasonable though, so I’m not thrilled but not too upset about it. So I won’t renew the subscription after the trial ends right away, I want to see if my understand is correct and then I might consider renewing it because it’s not too much but well see. It works well with my Amazon screen.

Not a fan of these cameras. The Wyze brand was better, until it kept having connection issues. I wanted something to record continuously.

Cameras will not connect. I have tried everything they asked. Junk do not purchase. Waste of money

Wasn't really happy with them. I had to keep resetting them up to make them work properly.

Blink Mini 2 The new Blink Mini 2 which costs only $40, is an inexpensive wired security camera that can be used indoors or outdoors. Blink’s latest camera model offers many things to make it attractive to buy. It’s really great if you already have an Amazon Alexa smart home c0ollection of devices, especially the Show line-up of devices with a display screen, or are already the owner of some of the previous Blink battery-powered cameras. The camera video is visible on smartphones with the Blink app as well as on Alexa Show smart speaker devices that have the display screens. These types of cameras do provide features such as checking in on baby sitters and pets, monitoring your house both inside and outside when you’re away, or possibly getting video evidence of thieves or prowlers. Some of the features: inexpensive and very small; Indoor/outdoor use; has a spotlight; person detection for a fee; option of local storage with an extra cost module; 1080p HD video; compatible with Alexa, IFTTT; real-time motion alerts on your smartphone; The camera can function as a chime (using its built-in speaker) for Blink doorbell cameras if you have the Mini camera indoors. To use outdoors, plug in Mini 2 outside your home with the Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter (sold separately) and mount with the included kit In real use the camera gives a very sharp image and video when it is very sunny or when it is in a well lit room (I tried the camera in both environments). In night time use outside ot inside with no lights in the room the built-in LED spotlight does a decent effort of illuminating the scene and renders colors although not as sharp as when fully lit in daylight or with rom lights. The night vision function produces Black and white images and videos using the IR infrared emitters to “illuminate” the scene. In conclusion, the $40 cost of this camera is reasonable for the performance and security it offers. Recommended.

These did not stay connected with my wifi and were quite finicky

Tried connecting a whole week and never got it to work. The geek squad said defective

The blink does always record when people come to my door to deliver packages or food, it's worth the money you pay for it

Wont recommend this product. It keep disconnecting from online viewing and can only watch for 2-3 mins max.

Hate it, only records in 30 sec increments. And doesn't do it well, misses a lot of motion. Not good for security. If your just watching a animal, i guess it could do. Alfred seems to be much better.

When will I learn ! Don't shop at best butt and don't buy blink products !

First, lets set expectations for the hardware, the Blink Mini 2 - Indoor/Outdoor Wired 1080p Security Camera is a pretty cool compact surveillance camera. While connectivity to your network is wireless, it does require a power connection so this does limit where you can put it. When using outdoors you need to purchase the optional weather resistant power adapter which features a flat 13ft cord. This second-generation camera is an improvement over the previous Blink Mini 1 camera which seemed more square with glossy plastic. The Mini 2 version has smoothed corners and fits into a mount which can be used as a stand or a mounted on a surface. The mobile app is decent but not the most intuitive or user friendly Unfortunately unlike some other camera there is no smart sound detection features (like detecting a fire alarm, barking or meowing of pets). The video quality at its best setting yields good 1080P HD video in decent light, at night it also has a small LED which can act as a spotlight, providing grainy but good color night vision. Now to the negatives, the device seems to lean heavily on upselling of their cloud services. With some features like live view recording and person detection (although generic motion detection is present) absent without a subscription, however at three dollars a month (a free 30 day trial is included) it is more reasonable than the latest Arlo cameras and even its cousin the Ring line up of cameras (both Ring and Blink are owned by Amazon). The setup experience required a mobile phone and was fairly easy with a QR code used for setup. You must create a Blink account if you don’t already have one. Luckily, I still run 2.4ghz on my wireless router in addition to the now more common and modern 5ghz band, as this camera requires the older frequency, not a problem if your run dual bands, but some people don’t. In any case I did not have any issues streaming video at the lower throughput provided by 2.4ghz Wi-Fi. You can subscribe to their cloud services for online video storage, but if you want to store video locally you can purchase the Sync Module 2 where you can plug in a USB flash drive (256GB max ). That device functions differently based on if you have a cloud subscription or not. But you can avoid subscription charges with the Sync Module and directly record video to the hub. As for configuration options there are many including motion detection sensitivity, configurable detection and no video recording zones (you can specify for example to not detect or record motion on portions of the camera view that may be private).
