Hate it, only records in 30 sec increments. And doesn't do it well, misses a lot of motion. Not good for security. If your just watching a animal, i guess it could do. Alfred seems to be much better.

      Hi Reviewtyme,

The maximum clip length is 30 seconds, and you can adjust this via the Blink App in settings. Blink cameras have a "retrigger time," which is the period between the end of one motion clip and the beginning of a new one.
The default retrigger time is often 30 seconds, meaning the camera will wait for this duration before starting a new recording even if motion continues. If you have any further questions, please call us! Blink customer support can be reached at 1-833-392-5465.

      Hope that helps! AmazonDevices

      Hi Perez,
Thank you for your feedback on the Blink mini 2. I am sorry to hear the camera stopped working. If your Blink Mini 2 is not working after plugging it in, first try a different power outlet, power adapter, and cable. If that doesn't work, you can reset the camera by holding the reset button on the bottom for about 30 seconds until the LED starts flashing blue, then re-add it through the Blink app. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network you intend to use for the camera. If these steps do not help and you are still experiencing issues, you can reach out to Amazon Customer Support 24/7 at 1-888-280-4331. AmazonDevices

      Hello PrestonC,
I am sorry to hear your Blink Mini 2 stop recording after the trial period ended. After your Blink subscription trial ends, your cameras will no longer save recordings to the cloud unless you subscribe to a plan. However, you can still use local storage with a Sync Module 2 and USB flash drive (sold separately) to record motion video clips. Hope this can help you use your camera, have a nice day! Hi AkhenatonL,
I am sorry that you are having issues with your Blink mini 2. Your camera uses infrared (IR) technology to capture clear videos in low-light conditions for night vison. The night vision feature automatically activates when the camera detects low light and provides a black and white image. If your camera is getting disabled you'll need to re-enable it. To re-enable the camera, you need to arm your Blink system. You can do this by tapping the "Armed" button in the Blink app. If the camera is offline, you'll need to troubleshoot the connection issues, such as verifying Wi-Fi, power, and internet connectivity. Hope this helps, have a nice day! AmazonDevices

Nice generational jump from Blink Mini 1

First, lets set expectations for the hardware, the Blink Mini 2 - Indoor/Outdoor Wired 1080p Security Camera is a pretty cool compact surveillance camera. While connectivity to your network is wireless, it does require a power connection so this does limit where you can put it. When using outdoors you need to purchase the optional weather resistant power adapter which features a flat 13ft cord. This second-generation camera is an improvement over the previous Blink Mini 1 camera which seemed more square with glossy plastic. The Mini 2 version has smoothed corners and fits into a mount which can be used as a stand or a mounted on a surface. The mobile app is decent but not the most intuitive or user friendly Unfortunately unlike some other camera there is no smart sound detection features (like detecting a fire alarm, barking or meowing of pets). The video quality at its best setting yields good 1080P HD video in decent light, at night it also has a small LED which can act as a spotlight, providing grainy but good color night vision. Now to the negatives, the device seems to lean heavily on upselling of their cloud services. With some features like live view recording and person detection (although generic motion detection is present) absent without a subscription, however at three dollars a month (a free 30 day trial is included) it is more reasonable than the latest Arlo cameras and even its cousin the Ring line up of cameras (both Ring and Blink are owned by Amazon). The setup experience required a mobile phone and was fairly easy with a QR code used for setup. You must create a Blink account if you don’t already have one. Luckily, I still run 2.4ghz on my wireless router in addition to the now more common and modern 5ghz band, as this camera requires the older frequency, not a problem if your run dual bands, but some people don’t. In any case I did not have any issues streaming video at the lower throughput provided by 2.4ghz Wi-Fi. You can subscribe to their cloud services for online video storage, but if you want to store video locally you can purchase the Sync Module 2 where you can plug in a USB flash drive (256GB max ). That device functions differently based on if you have a cloud subscription or not. But you can avoid subscription charges with the Sync Module and directly record video to the hub. As for configuration options there are many including motion detection sensitivity, configurable detection and no video recording zones (you can specify for example to not detect or record motion on portions of the camera view that may be private). Two-way audio is standard and it works well. >>> Pros >> Good 1080p video and sound, no issues streaming >> Compact and well built >> Decent mounting options >> Can save video locally with the addition of the Sync Module 2 and a flash drive. <<< Cons: << Cloud Subscription required for certain detection and configuration settings and live view recording. << 2.4ghz Wi-Fi connectivity only.

Hello Princesss! Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with your Blink Mini 2. Your device, as well as all Blink camera devices, comes with end to end encryption and password protection directly from within your app and your device. This means that it is not open to the public or anyone else for that matter. It is recommended that you do not use it on an open or public WiFi network as that is open for everyone but as long as you use it on your own WiFi with a password protection then we assure you that these are not open in any way to the public. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, don't hesitate to contact Blink Customer Support directly through the app Help menu located under Settings. I hope this sets your mind at ease some so that you can be able to enjoy your security provided by your Blink Mini 2. Thanks again for your time and have a great day! AmazonDevices

Hello Fabian, thank you for providing feedback on Blink Mini 2. I am sorry that the devices are disconnecting from the app. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help:
      1. Check Wi-Fi. Ensure that you can connect to the internet, and that the password has not been changed. If the password has been changed, refer to the next step.
Rebooting the Wi-Fi router is often very effective to resolve Blink connectivity issues.
If you have rebooted your router and Blink does not connect after 3 minutes, continue.
Check your password. If the password is changed, or if you wish to use a different Wi-Fi network, tap the Change Wi-Fi button: Change Wi-Fi and follow the instructions.
If the password or network have not changed, continue.
To repeat the camera installation process, tap the Delete Camera button: Delete Camera and follow the instructions.

If these steps do not reconnect your camera, please contact Blink support at 1-833-392-5465. Thank you again, have a great day! AmazonDevices

    Outstanding Wireless Camera

Based on previous experience I have found that you really cannot do wrong by going with a Blink security camera and system. This wireless camera from them lives up to the usual ease of use and quality that I have come to expect from them. Really, can setup of a wireless camera be any easier than using a Blink camera? If so I have yet to find it. Setup is dead simple easy. Install the Blink app to your mobile device of choice, either Android or iOS. Then scan select add camera. Scan the QR code on the camera module. App adds the camera and you finish setting it up. That's it. Once done you can forget it's there. If you have home cameras setup you've already got that part down pat. Once you're up and running you'll find well above average picture quality. The pick up from the onboard mic is passible while the built in speaker is likewise midling. That's fine for what this camera is. It allows you to speak to the room and listen to what's going no. Night vision is well above average in this price range and does the job well. Field of view is at a guess about 130 degrees which provides a decent view of the room you've set the camera up in. Via the app you can up things like motion alerts and record times. A very handy thing indeed if you live alone and travel for work and want to monitor your home while away. It's also handy if you're at work during the day and the land lord is sending someone to fix something. Just knowing if they try anything funny you've got them on cam. Between the excellent hardware and software this system provides peace of mind. Just know that after a brief intro period you do have to pay a monthly monitor fee. It's not that expensive and provides a couple of months of saved clips. This is an outstanding camera from a company that gets this right.

This Blink indoor / outdoor camera is a welcome addition to my existing Blink cameras and doorbell. Why? Let me tell you. Installation could not be simpler. Everything you need is included. I appreciate the ample length of the weatherproof power cord. Both the camera and the transformer section of the power cord can be hard mounted with screws to provide additional support. For those already in the Blink ecosystem you just go to the Blink app and add this as a new device. Pro tip - make sure you scan the QR code on the back of the camera prior to mounting the camera. You’re welcome. For those not already using Blink devices, just download the app and create an account. From there, setup and adding devices is intuitive and straightforward. Picture quality with this camera is excellent in all lighting conditions. I receive clear photos and videos without all the noise and graininess of some cameras. The built-in light, which can be activated separately, is bright and illuminates quite well. The entire camera and power cord are weatherproof, so no need to worry about water taking out your camera. With the system armed, the motion detection is incredibly good. The app helps to set up zones and areas to block out detection of unwanted items such as vehicles. So far this camera, as with all my other camera and doorbell, has never failed to detect human presence within my specified area. I am very happy with this new camera from Blink. I haven’t found anything to suggest for change. The design, build quality, lighting, detection, and overall functionality are all outstanding. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality outdoor security camera.

I have been with the Blink ecosystem now for 3 years as a security solution for my primary home in Kansas as well as my vacation home in Colorado. Even with the very harsh winter conditions in the mountains, the Blink cameras have performed flawlessly. When this product came out, I was excited as it can be used indoor and outdoor and has enhanced features over the original blink mini. Set-up, as always with the Blink cameras was quick and easy and I added it to my Kansas home in about 2 minutes. I opted to install this outdoors on my patio to test the nighttime color HD features as well as the motion detection. Both features performed amazingly well and the recorded video clips on my Blink app account were crystal clear. With temperature ratings from -5 degrees F to 122 degrees F, this will do just fine in the Kansas home location. I will test this in the Colorado home this upcoming winter where temps get down to -20 degrees F. I have the outdoor Blink cameras (not the mini) at that location and they perform just fine in that weather. I suspect this will do so as well. Overall, at this price, this is a very nice upgrade from the mini 1 and I would recommend it to any for a great ecosystem and low cost solution for home security.

    Mini versatility

The Blink Mini 2 camera stands out as a versatile and efficient security solution for both indoor and outdoor environments. When paired with the Weather Resistant Power Adapter, I found it perfectly suited for outdoor monitoring, withstanding various weather conditions without compromising functionality. One of the most impressive features is its quick boot-up time, allowing for swift operation and monitoring. The camera's 143-degree diagonal field of view is a significant upgrade, providing expansive coverage of the surroundings. The built-in spotlight and color night view enhance visibility during nighttime, ensuring clear and detailed footage around the clock. These features are particularly beneficial for outdoor use, where lighting conditions can vary. For those considering advanced monitoring, the Blink Mini 2 offers person detection through the optional Blink Subscription Plan. This plan enhances the camera's capabilities by differentiating between people and other objects or animals, adding an extra layer of security and intelligence to the system. The integration with Alexa allows for seamless control and interaction with the camera, making it a convenient choice for smart home enthusiasts. The ability to stream live video, arm and disarm the camera, and set up Alexa Routines adds to the user-friendly experience. While the camera itself is a robust offering, it's important to note that features like person detection, continuous live streaming, and cloud storage require a separate Blink Subscription Plan. However, the camera comes with a 30-day free trial of the plan, providing an opportunity to explore these additional features. The option to save clips locally with the Sync Module 2 is a great option, catering to those who prefer local storage over cloud-based solutions. The Blink Mini 2's construction from 10% recycled materials and its 100% recyclable packaging further emphasize its eco-friendly approach. In summary, the Blink Mini 2 camera, especially when used outdoors with the weather-resistant adapter, provides a comprehensive and user-friendly security solution. Its quick boot-up, wide field of view, night vision capabilities, and smart detection features, combined with the flexibility of storage options and smart home integration, make it a solid choice for anyone looking to enhance their home security system.

I really wanted me a camera for inside my house for a long time now, so when I seen this one, I thought it would be a good idea!! I was extremely happy that it wasn't one of those cordless cameras that you would have to constantly charge or swap out the batteries. I thought it would be best to place the camera in my kitchen, because it covered more of the open space and if I wasn't here, and somebody came here that wasn't supposed to be here I will get an alert, and call the police. When I first got it and tried to Connect to it from the Wi-Fi at my house, I was having a lot of difficulty. After trying to connect for sometime I started to think I got a faulty device. But after resetting my motor multiple times, I figured out that was the issue. The device itself is extremely light, but when you put the stand on the bottom it's feels extremely heavy. I have to try and figure out how to turn off the blue light, because if there is a break-in, I don't want them to know the cameras there. So far so good with this one, and steady learning more and more stuff every day. I have a older phone that's about five years old, and the picture from the camera on my phone is crystal clear! When I talk through the camera, it sounds really good and when someone talks back to me, it's pretty loud and clear. I think I'm going to go and get me two more of these.

The Blink Mini 2 Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera is a surprisingly simple to use tool for keeping an eye on things when you cannot be around. I have tested this camera both inside and outside of my home. It easily mounts to indoor surfaces inside the box, but if you'd like to mount it up outdoors, it is recommended to also purchase the outdoor weather resistant power adapter. This additional purchase comes with a 15ft weather resistant cord and mounting hardware for outdoor environments. The cord that comes with the basic camera is not weather resistant even though the camera itself is. You get a free trial of motion detection monitoring and recording snippets of video when motion is detected and when that expires, you can continue on with a monthly fee. I have found the live feed to be sufficient for my needs and you always have access to that via an easy to use app. The app was used in setup of the camera as well, and was extremely simple to do. I primarily use this indoors to keep an eye on my pup while I am at work or away, and it does an excellent job of helping me to make sure she's sleeping soundly in my absence. Very solid purchase for an inexpensive, basic security camera. Definitely recommend.

After owning several brands of security cameras, my main requirement is to be able to view them. Sound like that should be an easy task but if cameras take forever to load up when you need them, that's pretty bad. I have arlo cameras I'd like to replace as I have a terrible time getting them to play video. This Blink outdoor camera has been very quick to load up! Setting it up was very easy. I already have many amazon products, so I think that may have helped. Image quality is alright. 2 or 4k is much better, of course. I first mounted the camera under the eaves of my house. I could see the whole yard (which is good) but when I zoomed in to see something better, the image just got blurry. So these cameras are not good for big coverages. If you mount them by your doors where your intended subject matter is much closer, they're great. The night vision I'll have to keep playing with. So far it hasn't been the best. You have to have the light on or a light on somewhere for it to be in color. If I don't, it's in a greyscale pallette. It's also not very clear. Hopefully there will be an update that can enhance that. I do like the size of this camera, it's small and unobtrusive. Easy to install!

The blink mini 2 indoor and outdoor camera is well made for the price you pay. The only reason why i give it 4 stars is due to the software capabilities you can't share access to your camera like you usually do with the other branded camera that amazon supports. You literally have to give that person your email and password to use the camera. Versus sending them a link and they simply make their own account and can view the camera. The other issue is when click on the notification it takes me to the live feed. I want to see what happened from when it activated. Other than those 2 things this camera is awesome. It has a wide field of view from top to bottom and left to right. I have another camera that is very narrow .it's sounds clear good speaker and mic. You get a good image Has a light and pretty bright for a little camera and you can set it to turn on when motion is detected. You get the cable and the plug for it. Which is a plus because now most companies only give you the cable no more plug. This does work outdoors as well. The plug actually covers the whole port you need to get the outdoor cable for it though sold separately.
