The camera was alright, pretty good for something basic but I was looking for 24/7 recording and a good angle and this camera did not do the job for me. But for anyone looking for a basic camera to just keep an eye on things, this will work great for its price :)

Hello Efrain! Thank you for your feedback on the Blink Mini 2K+. I'm glad to hear you found the camera alright for basic monitoring needs and appreciate your balanced perspective on its capabilities. While I understand it didn't meet your specific requirements for 24/7 recording and viewing angle, the Blink Mini 2K+ is designed primarily for motion-activated recording rather than continuous recording, which requires a Blink Subscription Plan for extended features. Thank you for your feedback! AmazonDevices

Hello NoemiGJ. Thank you for your feedback on the Blink Mini 2K+ camera, and I am truly sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the device stopping after two weeks. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially given the important role this camera was playing for your family's peace of mind and safety.

The Blink Mini 2K+ is a plug-in camera, so there are no batteries to worry about, but there are a few factors that can cause the camera to stop functioning or go offline unexpectedly. A common cause is a disruption in the Wi-Fi connection — the Blink Mini 2K+ connects via a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, and if there is any instability, interference, or a sudden increase in network traffic, the camera may lose communication with the Blink servers and appear to stop working. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve this type of issue: 1. Ensure the power cable is properly and securely plugged into both the camera and the power adapter, and verify that the outlet is functioning. 2. Check that your Wi-Fi network is stable and that the camera is within good range of your router. 3. Restart the camera by unplugging it from power, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in. 4. If the camera still does not respond, press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the device for five seconds to perform a factory reset, then set the camera up again through the Blink Home Monitor app. 5. Make sure the Blink app on your phone is updated to the latest version.

Regarding the previous footage you were unable to obtain — the Blink Mini 2K+ includes a free 30-day trial of a Blink Subscription Plan, which stores video clips in the cloud for up to 60 days. If the subscription trial expired or was not activated, cloud-stored clips would no longer be accessible. For future use, it is recommended to download important clips directly to your mobile device through the Blink app as soon as possible to ensure you always have a copy of critical footage.

The Blink Mini 2K+ also comes with a 1-year limited warranty, so if the device is genuinely defective, you are covered for a replacement. If you are still experiencing issues or need further assistance, Amazon Customer Support is available 24/7 at 1-888-280-4331. They can help with warranty claims, troubleshooting, and replacement options. Thank you for your feedback, and I hope this information is helpful. AmazonDevices

Videos were too dark with 2K

I have the old one, the one that proceeded this one. It’s not a 2K it’s 1080. I set this up inside and point it out the window. On a bright sunny day, the pictures were so dark. It looked like dusk of cloudy day. The old one, the pictures are much brighter. Normal. So I returned them. I was ready to buy into these and get the module, but when I saw how this performed, I thought no. So the reviews are very good for this but for me it just didn’t do the job and when it’s so dark like that, I can’t see faces or make out cars very well. The other camera the old camera worked much better. I will say that the videos were crisper but the darkness ruined it

      Hi Gator,

Thanks for sharing your detailed experience with the Blink Mini 2K+. I'm sorry to hear the 2K model didn't meet your expectations, especially with the darkness issue affecting your ability to see faces and identify cars clearly - that defeats the whole purpose of a security camera.

It's interesting that you found the video quality crisper on the 2K+ model, but the exposure settings made daytime footage appear too dark compared to your original 1080p Blink Mini. This sounds like it could be related to how the 2K+ processes exposure when pointed through window glass, which can sometimes confuse the camera's light metering.

A few things that might have helped (for future reference):

Adjusting the camera's exposure settings in the Blink app (Settings > Video Settings > Exposure)
Repositioning the camera slightly to reduce glare or reflections from the window
Mounting it outside the window rather than pointing through glass, which can affect both exposure and night vision performance

That said, you made the right call returning them if the original model works better for your specific setup. Sometimes newer doesn't mean better for every use case, and if your 1080p Blink Mini is giving you clearer, brighter footage that actually lets you identify people and vehicles, that's what matters most for security purposes.

Thanks for taking the time to share this detailed comparison - it's helpful feedback about how the 2K+ performs in window-mounted scenarios. AmazonDevices

I ordered these to supplement my wireless cameras but these continually seem to go offline so are basically useless. Have had no issues with the wireless cameras just these wired ones. Not easy to try and get back online and a day or two later go back offline so very unreliable. Wish I could return them.

      Dear Bdbo,

We're truly sorry to hear about the connectivity issues you're experiencing with your Blink Mini 2K+ cameras. Having cameras that repeatedly go offline defeats the purpose of a security system, and we completely understand your frustration — especially when your wireless Blink cameras are working just fine.

Since the issue is isolated to the wired Mini 2K+ cameras while your wireless cameras remain stable, here are a few things that may help:

Check the power source — Try plugging the cameras into a different outlet or using a different USB cable/adapter. Insufficient power can cause intermittent disconnections.
Wi-Fi signal strength — Even though they're wired for power, the Mini 2K+ still relies on Wi-Fi for connectivity. Check that the cameras are within good range of your router.
Router band settings — The Mini 2K+ connects on the 2.4 GHz band. If your router is set to auto-switch between bands, try dedicating the 2.4 GHz connection for the cameras.
Firmware update — Open the Blink app, go to Camera Settings, and check for any available firmware updates.
Reduce Wi-Fi congestion — If you have many devices on your network, the added cameras may be competing for bandwidth.

We'd like to help get this resolved for you. Please reach out to our support team at 1-888-280-4331 so we can troubleshoot your specific setup and get those cameras staying online reliably.

Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. AmazonDevices

Hello FidmarvelsA. Thank you for your feedback on the Blink Mini 2K+ Compact plug-in security camera. I'm sorry to hear you feel the product doesn't justify its price point. I understand your concern about the value proposition, especially when investing in home security equipment where you expect the quality and features to match the cost. The Blink Mini 2K+ offers enhanced 2K video resolution, color night vision, and improved audio quality compared to standard models, which does position it at a higher price tier. To ensure you're getting the most from the camera, verify it has a strong Wi-Fi connection, position it in optimal lighting conditions, and ensure you're using the latest version of the Blink Home Monitor app to access all available features. Thank you for your feedback and have a great day! AmazonDevices

      Hi Tonia,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Blink Mini 2K+ camera. We're sorry to hear that the video quality and placement flexibility didn't meet your expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience.

Camera placement can definitely be challenging when trying to find the optimal viewing angle, especially with plug-in models that require proximity to power outlets. We understand that when a product doesn't work for your specific setup needs, it's best to explore other options that might be a better fit.

We appreciate you giving Blink a try, and your feedback helps us understand what customers are looking for in their security camera solutions. AmazonDevices

    Solid Budget Friendly Security Cam

I'm using the Blink Mini 2K+ to keep an eye on my two-car garage…cars, tools, and the general “don’t-touch-my-stuff” perimeter. For a small plug-in camera, it punches above its weight, especially for the price. What It Does Well • Sharp 2K image quality. The resolution jump from the older 1080p cams is real. I can clearly see both cars, movement around them, and even small details like labels on toolboxes if the lighting is decent. • Wide field of view. With its wide-angle lens, one camera covers a surprising amount of space. Mounted high the ceiling near my wifes car I can see the whole garage. • Solid low-light performance. In a garage where lighting isn’t always perfect, the camera does a respectable job. Once everything is dark, IR takes over, not perfect, but absolutely usable. • Easy setup. Plug it in, connect it, done. No batteries, no drama. • Motion alerts that make sense. Once I customized the zones, it stopped alerting me every time a dust particle drifted through the frame. It only notifies me when something meaningful happens. Where It Falls Short • Subscription creep. You’ll quickly find that many of the “smart” features and expanded storage options live behind a monthly fee. Live view still works without paying, but anything advanced starts costing money which is the case with the Blink Camera system. Im paying $11.99 a month for the Blink Plus Plan. • Lighting still matters. In the darker corners of the garage behind shelving, detail drops quickly. It’s not a miracle worker. • Not the most premium audio. The two-way audio works, but the speaker sounds like someone whispering into a tin cup. Functional, but not impressive. • No pan/tilt. What you point it at is what you get. You need to mount it strategically if you want full coverage. Real-World Performance in My Garage • Daytime: Excellent clarity. Cars, movement, tools, everything looks crisp. • Night: Good, not great. With some ambient light, it keeps color. Total darkness triggers IR, which still shows what’s happening but loses detail. Verdict For a budget-friendly indoor camera, the Blink Mini 2K+ is legitimately impressive. It won’t replace a high-end security cam, but as a solid, reliable pair of eyes in a garage, it absolutely does the job. If you’re monitoring cars, gear, or the general comings and goings, it’s a strong choice…just expect to pay a subscription if you want all the bells and whistles.

    A mighty camera in a small form-factor

This is my first Blink camera of any model. Let me start by saying that its small size is quite impressive. I’ve been wanting a camera to better monitor activity in and around my garage, and I felt this Blink camera would fit the bill. My research indicates that the Blink line of cameras are integrated with the Alexa Smart Home tools - which I don’t happen to have at this time. My initial observations are quite good. Setting up the Blink App was super easy. Download the app, establish credentials, plug the Blink camera into a power source and away you go. The picture quality was quite good. In my closed garage during the day with the garage lights off, all the items in my garage appeared as gray’ish in color. Turn on the Blink camera’s light, and all the proper colors of boxes and containers are displayed true to life. Turn off the camera’s light and turned on my internal garage light, and the results were close to identical. I’ve used wi-fi cameras both inside my home and outside for years, and this Blink camera activates the camera live feed about as quickly as cameras costing hundreds more. When you activate the camera feed, some options become selectable. They are: • Camera Light On • Camera Light Off • Live View Saved • Tap to Mute/Unmute • Extended Live View Off • Device Settings • Siren On • Siren Off The Device Settings are fairly comprehensive • General Settings o Blink Camera Name o Change Wi-fi o Network Strength o Delete Device • Motion Settings o Motion Detection o Motion Sensitivity o Motion Zones o Retrigger Time • Video and Photo Settings o Motion Clip Length o Video Quality o End Clip early if motion stops o And more • Audio Settings o Speaker Volume • And more, including Lighting Settings, Privacy Settings, and Help There is also a 30-day free trial that turns on features such as saving copies of videos and photos for up to 60 days, coverage for unlimited cameras and doorbells at all locations, Extended Live View (lets you stream video from your Blink for up to 90 minutes), AI Smart detection, and more. In the end, I found this Blink camera and its advanced offerings to be quite a bargain, one that rivals much more expensive solutions. As such, I’m giving it 5 stars.

I am a huge fan of the Blink security cameras. Their diminutive size makes placing a ton of these things around the property easy, stress free and inexpensive. Camera quality was great when they first hit the market a number of years back, but as 4K security cameras came down in price the Blink cameras felt more and more outdated. There’s always a trade off between working with the power from two double-A batteries with the security requirement to record as much as possible and overall Blink balanced this well. The original hockey puck design continued to be functional, but outdated. This new 2K camera solves the two biggest problems I’ve always had with Blink: the first problem is that they rely on lithium ion batteries that require removing the back plate to replace and the second problem is that the picture quality compared to 4K is terrible. As an added bonus the Mini 2K+ field of view is much wider than the hockey pucks making it a much better viewing experience from my mobile phone. The Mini sits comfortably on the built in stand and offers a wide range of adjustment capability to get the angle you are looking for with your security footage. My primary use case is monitoring an aging senior with dementia who has trouble walking without a walker. It doesn’t help that it’s a two-story home with low ceilings and he has a tendency to wonder off without his walker and fall on a regular basis. The cameras needed to be strategically placed in bedrooms and bathrooms, the two places he’s most prone to falling. I was burning through lithium ion batteries, but loved how simple it is to navigate the blink app. It’s nice to have a camera option now that is hard wired. The most shocking part about this camera is the quality of the color night vision, especially compared with the existing Blink cameras. It’s that quality jump from VHS to UHD Blu-ray, it’s quite stunning. And the audio quality of the two-way microphone has also been dramatically improved. Overall this is just a fantastic upgrade to the Blink camera ecosystem and if you are an existing Blink user you should buy as many of these as you can afford.

    Another Great Blink Camera!

As an owner of many Blink cameras, the Blink Mini 2K+ is a great step up from the standard Blink Mini camera, which is already a fantastic smart home surveillance camera! The Blink Mini 2K+ is almost exactly what you would expect from a Blink Mini, just with higher resolution! It features a wide field of view 2.5K (2560 x 1440) resolution video feed with built-in motion detection, two-way audio to both hear and speak through the camera, as well as a built-in viewing light for viewing in dark conditions, night vision mode, and a security siren. It’s important to note that the product description describes that it has “color night vision”, but it actually does not have actual “night vision with color”; it is simply referring to the ability to see dark rooms “in color” using the built-in viewing light. This variant of the Blink camera is required to be plugged into a power source at all times (using the included wall adapter or USB power source), so if you’re looking for a wireless home security camera, the Blink Outdoor may be a better choice! The camera is extremely good at in-home surveillance, checking in on pets, and can also be mounted outdoors with additional accessories. It thrives in long-running live view and motion-detection scenarios, all configurable through the Blink app. The app is extremely intuitive and serves its job well as a hub for coherently controlling all devices in your Blink ecosystem! The app also provides options for storing and saving motion event videos in the cloud, as well as provides other enhanced Blink features with a Blink subscription (purchasing a camera includes a free month trial to the Blink subscription plan).

    Compact and Clear

Home security systems have many features these days, and the new craze on the market is enhanced clarity. I have both the Blink system and Ring systems that compliment my whole house. So When I saw a new blink mini 2K+ i was excited, because resolution is always wanted to see more clearly. While most of the time smaller cameras have the clarity loss a few feet away from the camera. The Compact plug-in security camera from blink offers a 2k resolution, with a 138 degree FOV. this allows a much wider viewing angle of the surrounding areas. It also has color night vision which is really good since mots have had that black and white color profile past few years. It also has the new Ai smart detection features which help distinguish between people and vehicle ( sadly you need the subscription plan to activate that aspect) Testing this out was very simple, took me all of 10 minutes to get its installed and hooked up. I had a powered source in the fascia of roof, so was very ideal for plugging in. ( I did have to order an outdoor plug in adapter which delayed my testing by almost a week thanks to some shipping issues). I went on vacation and was able to check on my system from the middle of the ocean and get real time feedback, and crystal clear images. The two talk function was nice as I was bale to let the fedex man know where I wanted my package left. In all, very compact and durable system, but if you are going to use this outdoors, add the outdoor weather resistant plug adapter ( about $10 but takes over a week to ship) it has for screws to secure that device as well. Overall I'm really happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone look for something that is discrete and not a massive eye sore on your house security exterior.

Good Camera/System with a few flaws

The Blink - Mini 2K+ Compact plug-in security camera is a good addition to a Blink system if you have one. I use it to monitor my kitchen as I have personal aides in my house to watch my father and like to keep tabs on them. The camera is very easy to add to the Blink system and set up. The fact that it plugs into a USB port and does not require batteries is convenient and the battery powered cameras I have don't give warning, they just stop working when the battery dies. The picture for the camera is very good. It adjusts to low light conditions and has a light that can be turned on and off manually or you can set it to activate when it detects motion. You can set zones where motion won't be detected. Example, you can set a zone at a doorway so people walking by a room wont be detected. You can also set up privacy zones so you can mask certain areas of the photos/videos so they don't appear in the photos/videos. However, I have found these 2 features to be hit or miss. My camera is set up in a way that it looks into a hallway. I set up a no detection zone and a privacy mask at this doorway. The camera will often detect people walking by. Additionally, the mask will sometimes disappear allowing full view. Not great. The detection length can be set from 5 to 60 seconds. The interval between detections (retrigger time) can be set from 10-60 seconds. I find the app works well most of the time as long as the cameras batteries are good and the wifi signal is strong. The Blink system makes it easy to arm/disarm a system. At the bottom of the home screen are buttons for each option. I have had issues with the base station and the cameras reconnecting to the internet after a blackout. This is usually fixed by restarting my router but that can be a problem if you are away from home or using the system to monitor a vacation/rental property. If you have a Blink system and need a stationary, plug in camera, this is a good one to get. I'm hoping the small glitches I've experienced lately will be corrected with future software updates.

The Blink Mini 2k+ security camera is a large improvement over past models. I've been using Blink battery powered cameras for a while and haven't been very impressed...until this new Mini 2k+. The appeal of a battery powered security camera has lost its appeal for me. Between having to pull the cameras down to charge the battery every so often, and not getting the video quality and performance I expect I think it is worth the initial setup to get a plug in camera that requires no maintenance after setup. Enter the Mini 2k+. This camera is quite small and fits just about anywhere. There is hardware included to mount the camera or it can be simply set on an out of the way place if using indoors. It comes with a rather long USB-C power cable, but a still longer cable might be needed depending on your use case. The video quality is excellent, especially the low light quality. I have this camera set up in a home observatory so I can monitor my telescopes at night. The camera easily picks up many stars in the dark night sky and I can easily see what's happening even without night vision enabled. With night vision enabled the image is crisp and clear. In previous models, the Blink app would stop the live view after just a few seconds which was frustrating when I wanted to simply have a live view to monitor what was happening, probably a result of trying to save battery life. But with the Mini 2k+ the live feed stays open as long as I need it to. I have also found the motion detection and recognition to work very well and not give false alerts. I do have one minor complaint. Despite being connected to a fast Wifi system with plenty of band width and speed, the camera is erratic when on the highest video quality setting (6+ Mbps). I've had to move to the middle quality (3Mbps) to get a consistent connection.
