You want to make sure you are within about 60ft of your wireless router or the signal will not be strong enough. I have an average wireless router so this might be subject to change with a higher quality one.

But not for night. The night vision is not good at all. I need to keep my outside lights on to get any kind of view. Which still isn't that good.
