Hello freefran! Thank you so much for providing feedback on your experience with your Blink Video Doorbell! I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with battery life on your doorbell. There are a few things to help troubleshoot this that you can do. First, be sure that you are using only lithium-ion AA batteries and not standard alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries will drain very quickly in the elements. Next, you can go into the Blink smartphone app and tap the Settings icon in your Doorbell camera feed and then check on a few things here. First, we want to make sure that you have a solid Network Strength. If you have a low signal or it is not green, then your doorbell is working too hard to stay connected to your network. You can try to move your router closer to your doorbell to assist in this or you can purchase a Blink Sync Module. This will allow you to use the Sync Module as a bridge to your router for a better connection and this will also lighten the load on your doorbell batteries nearly doubling the battery life of them. Last, you can check your Motion Settings to ensure that you do not have the Sensitivity set too high, that you do not have the Retrigger Time set too low, or that your Motion Zones are blocking out areas that you do not want monitored to lower the number of times your doorbell is recording motion events. I do hope these tips help you improve upon your experience and thank you again for your feedback. Have a fantastic day! AmazonDevices

    Batteries do not last

The cameras advertise that the battery has up to 2 year life. On2 of the 4 cameras in the package, the battery lasted less than one month. It would not be a big deal if it was not advertised as up to Two-year Battery Life.

Blink outdoor 4 This is my first experience with blink. So here are my honest comments. PROS: It’s small and compact so it’s easy to hang about anywhere. The picture quality is really good overall. It has great sharp colors in the daytime. Nighttime is of course not near as good, but it really shows more detail than some of the other cameras I have used. Detail falls off with distance which is common with many cameras. Mostly black and grays at night, but with some detail. I have found the positioning of the Camera affects its detail, and lighting especially at night. That meaning if its placed near a railing, a wall, or an obstruction, the picture will be affected by that placement. When placed more in the open away from nearby objects, it does so much better. The setup is pretty easy. Follow the steps and you should be on your way. There are several ways to get some help on line if you need it. You first pair the Sync Module to your internet Wi-Fi address in your home. I first added this to a Mesh single SSID name network and it did connect to the 2.4 Ghz band without a hitch. I also added it to a Dual SSID network and of course I had to pick the 2.4 Ghz band since this device does not connect to 5 Ghz routers. Both connections worked fine. After connecting to your Wi-Fi, you can then use the app to connect the camera to the Sync Module. I did find the Syn Module effectively increases the distance and reception between you Wi-Fi router and the camera as it acts as a “relay” or connection to the camera rather than the camera straight to your Wi-Fi router. I also found the connection to my Wi-Fi stable and consistent. I would recommend not to put the back on the camera or try to mount it until everything is working. You will need to scan a label inside the camera with your phone to set up the camera to the Sync Module so don’t put the back on or add the mounting brackets until everything is connected and working. You can add a Memory stick to the USB jack on the Syn Module for backups. It appears if you don’t continue the online backups to blink, you should be able to store files on the card. Resetting the WiFi network if you move or get a new router is not hard. The app walks you right through it and it’s really pretty easy. You should not have to add the camera again to the Sync Module if you had done that during the initial installation. CONS: The mounting bracket appears cheap, confusing, and breakable. However as I have used it more, it hasn’t broke and is quite strong. Putting it together in the right configuration without looking closely at the instructions may cause some anguish. All I can add is get a little rough when you have to push it into the back of the camera over the big silver screw that holds the camera back on. Unless you apply a lot of pressure, it will not seat properly. It takes trial an error to set up the sensitivity, motion pick up, and people sensitivity for your installation. If you get frustrated, walk away and come back to it later. CONCLUSION: I found the camera to be small and relatively easy to connect. The mounting bracket could use some better instructions and be made more substantial. I like the idea of the Sync Module for connection and giving you the ability to add a SD card inside the home out of the weather and vandal proof. Performance and picture are good for this price point. I would recommend it to a friend.

The cameras are okay. The picture is clear but the only issue I have is it takes forever to pick up movement so the person has already went through and you can only see half of the shot. Makes you think, what’s the point?

Hello, KarlS. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Blink Outdoor 4-camera system. I am sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with the device. Your Blink camera captures motion based on either passive infrared (PIR) or pixel difference analysis (PDA). Your camera's motion sensitivity setting adjusts how much input it takes to send you a notification. Low sensitivity is less responsive, so a larger amount of heat or motion is needed to cause a notification. The highest setting may cause alerts from blowing leaves or even shadows.

High sensitivity (values of 6–9) means less motion over a shorter period of time will create a notification.
Low sensitivity (values of 1–4) means more movement over a longer period of time will create a notification. I recommend testing the sensitivity for each camera. Tap "More (...)" on your camera's thumbnail and select "Device Settings." Select "Motion Settings." On "Motion Sensitivity," move the slider two or three increments to the right for a higher setting. Tap "Save" to save this setting and walk out of the frame of view of this camera. From the main screen of the Blink app, set your system to "Armed" to enable motion detection. Test the camera's sensitivity by introducing movement. If the sensitivity is unsuccessful, adjust the slider further, save, and try again. If you have adjusted the sensitivity to your liking, proceed to test with a larger moving object. Walk in front of the camera and check if the setting provides the desired motion alert. I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions or need help, please contact Blink Customer Support at 1-833-392-5465. Thank you again, and have a great day! AmazonDevices
