Good camera but with an overwhelming flaw

The thing that is most ridiculous is that when viewing you have to press "continue " every few seconds to watch live. Imagine someone comes into frame and motion detection is on then immediately finds a hiding spot and you did not press "continue" fast enough what then? It defeats the purpose of having a camera to monitir your premises. Someone did not think this through when making it. Thats why it only has 2 stars.

Posted .Hello freefran! Thank you so much for providing feedback on your experience with your Blink Video Doorbell! I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with battery life on your doorbell. There are a few things to help troubleshoot this that you can do. First, be sure that you are using only lithium-ion AA batteries and not standard alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries will drain very quickly in the elements. Next, you can go into the Blink smartphone app and tap the Settings icon in your Doorbell camera feed and then check on a few things here. First, we want to make sure that you have a solid Network Strength. If you have a low signal or it is not green, then your doorbell is working too hard to stay connected to your network. You can try to move your router closer to your doorbell to assist in this or you can purchase a Blink Sync Module. This will allow you to use the Sync Module as a bridge to your router for a better connection and this will also lighten the load on your doorbell batteries nearly doubling the battery life of them. Last, you can check your Motion Settings to ensure that you do not have the Sensitivity set too high, that you do not have the Retrigger Time set too low, or that your Motion Zones are blocking out areas that you do not want monitored to lower the number of times your doorbell is recording motion events. Be careful, blinks are problematic and glitchy

Owned for 11 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.never again, these cameras are glitchy, sometimes they work and sometimes they dont, at this moment my cameras are advising me someone is in my back yard and at the front of my house, but will not login, i also have them backed up on a USB, which works sometimes, i keep having to reformat the USB to see the clips. I did the free trial on accident or some how it was activated, maybe by my wife on accident and that messed the whole system up, now the usb will not show clips on the local setting!!!!!!. anyways find another camera, dont go cheap and when i bought these cameras they offered a small extra camera that was included, i had to return the whole system and repurchase it in order to get it, as the best buy employee did not include it on my original purchase. i have also noticed that they do not work well in the cold......when it is around 30 to 45 degrees they are really glitchy and do not record movement, i have been using ring and FEIT cameras without a problem for four years in various areas these blink are very problematic.

I bougth this cameras thinking everything would be easy for been wifi cameras, I'm very disapointed about this, when I call blink customer service they said I have to climb in a ladder to remove the batteries then install the batteries again! I bougth this cameras because of the two year battery life, now in less than a month I'm having problems with the cameras batteries. I hired Geek Squad to install them they did a great Job. I do not know what to do I cannot climb in the ladder to be fixing this cameras and not blink or best buy care about my physical disability. The cameras supuouse to work well is too soon for them to have the battery broken.

The Lithium batteries died within 2 weeks. You can block out areas to not detect motion, but you cannot zoom in and save it as a setting.
