Posted .Hello HPrules! Thanks for your review on your Blink Outdoor 4 Floodlight. Lets try a couple things to make sure you're getting the most out of the battery. Note (Very Important): Blink cameras are only compatible with size AA 1.5 volt Lithium non-rechargeable batteries and the Floodlight uses 4 alkaline D-cell batteries. 1. Reposition your camera if you're receiving false motion notifications. 2. Shorten the length of your motion clips. 3. Reduce your use of Live View. 4. Lower your camera's sensitivity setting. 5. Set up Activity Zones to prevent excessive motion clips or false alerts. 6. If possible, only arm your camera when no one is home.7. Reduce the amount of time your camera is armed when at home. 8. This can be automated by enabling Scheduled Arming. 9. Individually arm and disarm certain cameras within a system. 10. Ensure that your camera has at least 3 bars of signal strength for camera to Wi-Fi. 11. Reduce the use of your camera's illuminator. If you don't the camera and recording functions then another product might be better
