Dont buy lights dont work

Easy set and Install Good Security Add On

It has blind spots, no motion detection and some glare issues. We got this as an add on the correct these issues. So far it seems to be exactly what we needed. Super easy to set up and install. I was specifically looking for a wireless, battery powered and wi-fi option, so I could avoid a complicated installation. Where I need this, there are no electric outlets, so this is perfect. I am still working on a sweet spot for the motion since this is an apartment parking lot. I am using the blink subscription for now. I was considering going with the USB drive, but the blink subscription for 1 camera at only $3 per month is worth it to have it stored to the cloud. Also reading reviews of the blink subscription, its clearly better value than trying to save money by gong with the USB. The cloud storage makes managing, saving and reviewing the video data so much easier it seems like a no brainer for 1 camera. The other things to mention are brightness of the lights. This is perfect for my needs, but we also have other lights at the opposite end of the area. Im not sure it would work for the whole lot by itself. I am also always skeptical of battery life claims. This says to expect 2 years. I am not holding my breath in that since we are dealing with unpredictable use with the motion detection and these are D cell batteries but we will see. Still rather change batteries periodically for the convenience of this being wireless. I think this is perfect for what we needed. Hopefully it will help with safety and security for our residents.

deceptive advertising

I have a Blink system and thought floodlights would be great for darker areas. According to Blink, you need pitch black darkness before the floodlights will operate, which is practically impossible.

Here are a few things that should help with this issue: 1. Daylight Mode: When enabled, the LEDs will activate when motion is detected during certain daylight hours, when the outside light is limited like at dusk and dawn. The LEDs will not activate when there is an abundance of outdoor light, often during midday hours. 2. Daylight Sensitivity: This setting only appears when "Daylight Mode" is enabled and controls the sensitivity of the lights during daylight hours. Lower setting values only activate the LEDs in darker conditions and higher values will activate the LEDs in brighter conditions. Try these steps to see if it helps. I know this is just a review and not a direct request for customer support but just in case your call to customer service was to Best Buy, we at Blink would love the opportunity to try to troubleshoot and resolve your issue as well. You can contact Blink Customer Support directly through the Blink smartphone app's Help Menu. From there you can chat online or call directly. Dont waste your money

Came with wrong batteries

Bought this product 2 and a half months ago and had to change the batteries contacted customer support since it did not want to reconnect and they told me it came with the wrong batteries and didn’t want to fix the issue.

The system is the floodlight, the camera and the sync module that connects your floodlight/camera combo to your Wi-Fi. If you already have a Blink system with the sync module this is a super easy installation. First thing you need to do is download the Blink Home Monitor App. The app will walk you through all the steps of adding and installing the floodlight/camera combo. Very easy and simple process. One this to note is that these are not rechargeable they are batteries that will need to be replaced! Another thing to note is that the sync module will need to be within 100ft of the floodlight/camera. Overall, this system is great. It has 1080p video quality and the floodlights are very bright! You can do a lot within the application to customize your setup. You can setup zones, recording time, activation notifications and sensitivity to name few. I found that the app was very intuitive and super easy to navigate and use. You get a free trial to the Blink Plus Plan that gives you access to Cloud storage and video history and more. The structure is $3 a month for one device or $10 for unlimited. You can also connect a USB storage drive to save videos locally. PRO’s: - Easy setup - 2-year battery life - Great App - Two-way audio CON’s: - Monthly plan SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for an item like this.

The best wireless outdoor security I have tried to

I have purchased and installed three different systems before finally trying the Blink system. I think I may have finally found the one. While my previous security systems have had SO MANY hiccups and issues, I was hesitant to even try a different system. My good friends told me to try Blink. They have an entire Blink system installed at their vacation home and have raved about how dependable it has been. Fast forward to today, and I am happy to report that they were correct. No more waiting and waiting and waiting to get a signal feed through the app. No more having to constantly login into the app to even see the signal feed which is incredibly horrible for a security system. No more recharging the batteries in my cameras every few weeks, which is a massive hassle. So far, it seems as though Blink was able to remedy every gripe I have had with the other systems. The app loads quickly and the live feed is available at a fraction of the time of my previous systems. Huge bonus considering you really want fast access to what is happening outside. I have my Android phone notifications set to notify me of movement on both my phone and my watch, and it has worked quickly and flawlessly so far. This floodlight is installed just under the overhang pointing at my garage entry keypad. Browsing clips that are saved in your library is easy and quick as well. The whole app experience is very user friendly and finding what you need is a breeze. Which leads me to the Sync Module. My absolute favorite feature of the Blink system is the Sync Module (sold separately) which allows you to store your clips on a USB drive (sold separately) locally instead of paying a monthly cloud fee. AWESOME and thank you Blink! That said, if you don’t want to fuss with setting that up (which is easy) you can always use the cloud service to store and view your saved video clips. The video quality has been excellent so far, and I am able to clearly see what I need to see when reviewing saved clips. The custom "no zones" are also very useful, as they allow the user to select only certain parts of the scene that the camera sees and triggers to record saved clips. I have not had the system long enough to know if the batteries will last up to two years, but I do feel confident that they will last WAY longer than the system I am replacing. Another great thing about the Blink system is that it is relatively affordable and easy to upgrade if you want to add more cameras at any time. The floodlight seems bright enough for the immediate area, but not on par with a standard floodlight by any means. I am sure this is also to help with battery life. While the system is not perfect, it can be improved with a few minor changes. The camera mounts are my biggest complaint. They are flimsy and delicate. The cameras literally snap into a round, thin piece of plastic, which makes it seem like the cameras are not as secure as they could be. I would like to see the mounts updated with some type of weatherproof screw that can be tightened by hand, and for the plastic to be made thicker. This would make the mounts more secure and less likely to break. It would also make them more weatherproof, which would be important in areas with a lot of rain or snow. There is also nothing stopping anyone from easily taking a camera, so updating the mounts to be more secure and anti-theft is my #1 recommendation for the next version. I can highly recommend the Blink system for anyone needing an affordable home security solution.
