Used my old sync module and paired up nicely. I've been using Blink since it first came out. So, I am grandfathered in on the free plan. From what I read the paid service is not as expensive as some other plans out there. Image quality is great, and I paired it up to an indoor cam so whenever the doorbell rings it sounds through the indoor cam.

Would definitely recommend for apartments since it is wireless and battery operated!

The only thing I didn’t like about the doorbell camera is that they force you to get a subscription to be able to see recordings.

Posted .Hello Lilmo! I am glad that you are enjoying your Blink Video Doorbell! While the Blink subscription plan is recommended for cloud storage and some premium features, the Sync Module 2 specifically that came with your device allows for a USB flash drive (not included) to be plugged into the back of it and can be used as a means for local storage. Going forward, with the new additions of our new Core and XR modules, only the XR module will allow for local storage but your model comes with the Sync Module 2 that still allows for this feature. I hope you are able to further improve upon your experience some and thank you for your time! Have a fantastic day!
You'll Probably Subscribe Anyway, Save Some Money

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The doorbell camera works fine, my dissatisfaction is with the sync module, which presumably works fine as well, but I have to remove the flash drive and put it in my computer to view the video clips. That'll come in handy if something awful happens, and the offenders don't happen to remove the sync module or flash drive. This product is affordable because they want your money from the subscription service, which you get used to in the unavoidable free trial. The service will blow up your phone with alerts until you adjust some settings... We wound up getting the subscription service, against my input, and that was a pain to set up. I don't hate the Blink system, I just hate the way it shoves you into ANOTHER subscription service.
